Question Phone/Contacts/SMS replacement apps not working properly. - Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G (peux)/POCO X4 Pro 5G (veux)

Hello.
I recently bought the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G (2201116SG)
I'm on MIUI Global 13.0.8 Stable RKCEUXM
Android shows up as 11 RKQ1.211001.001
I used the feature that synchronizes apps and settings from my old phone (Redmi Note 8T)
I used third-party apps (DW Contacts & Dialer and Textra) and I wanted to carry that over.
I noticed however, that if those are set as defaults on the new phone, they don't fully work as expected.
Whenever I call or receive a call, the phone app doesn't pick up the contact name.
I get a notification that the App is not responding and the call was handled using the built-in phone app.
With Textra, I'm not sure, but it might not be getting my messages - If I switch defaults to the Xiaomi app, I gett notifications for all the missed messages and only then do they apear in Textra.
I'm not sure how to debug this or what other info I could give.

[Q] skype integration with dialer

Hi,
1. I use skype for international call and my phone for local and national calls. Is it possible to just click the contact or in dialer click the contact and then call will automatically go through skype or phone depending on the number.
Earlier when I was using CM10 on my old galaxy phone, I remember getting a pop-up option whether I want to handle this call by skype or phone, that was also acceptable. But on my new nexus 5 I don't see this option. when I click contact in dialer or contact it just tries phone.
2. In CM10, I had the option to toggle rotation through quick-setting. It was quite handy during sleeping. But I don't see this now.
KitKat revamped a lot of things like this. Simply installing Skype now doesn't undue the dialer's default settings forcing the system to present the pop-up question.
You might try installing a third party dialer, then install Skype and see if the pop-up shows.

No calling UI for incoming/outgoing calls - Android P latest B2N-3310

My Nokia 7 Plus (China Version) just got upgraded to Android P using HMD's official ROM (by copying it to root & install by *#*#874#*#*).
My phone will ring when it receives phone call; it can also make a call & hear the voice.
The problem is, the phone does not show any incoming call prompt, so I cannot "pick up" the call; nor will it show any outgoing call UI, so I cannot end the call.
Any one has any idea what's going on?
BTW all apps updated to latest via Google Play Store. Rebooting tried. SIM 1 slot used.
[Solved] Manually set default app to Phone
Sorry guys, just figured it out by myself. Go to Settings and found that the default app for phone is "None". After setting it to "Phone" manually, everything works fine now.
No calling ui
I'm experiencing the same problem after the pie update,
I can only hear the ringtone but it shows nothing, after the call it notifies me about the calls. Any solutions?
Go to setting>Apps& Notification>Phone>Notification>Incoming Calls>Behaviour>Select "Make Sound and Pop Up On Screen"
Just bought Nokia 5.1 plus yesterday... And I couldn't see the incoming calls..
I did this..
Go to setting>Apps& Notification>Phone>Notification>Incoming Calls
But I can't tap the behaviour option for incoming calls.. please help...
For outgoing, voicemail, etc I can tap the behaviour button.

Honor magic watch 2 issue

I bought honor magic watch 2 46mm version .i have issue with app calls notification such as whatsapp call, imo, snap, messanger.watch only shows written notification not calls . I want calls from these apps shows in watch
Any help plz
Any idea ?
Completely wrong forum. This is about the Huawei watch 2.
Try your luck at wear os/q&a.
Good luck
Even if in the wrong forum I will try to answer.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Make sure you have installed Huawei Health at least version 10.0.0.311
2. Open Huawei Health and go to option Devices
3. Once there, CLICK on Honor MagicWatch 2-xxx (where xxx is your watch ID).
4. Now you should see the specific watch interface. Go to notifications option (it should be located below "Favorite Contacts") and make sure you activated notifications for Huawei Health App and (this is IMPORTANT) also for each application you want to receive notification on watch , example: enable notifications for Calendar, Gmail, Whatapp, SMS, etc.
Note : you will see lost calls from WhatApp and other phone calling able applications BUT you will only be able to answer calls done via normal phone application.
Maybe in the future when they will add NFC option to non China version watches we will get this option also, but with current firmware version 1.0.7.16. it's not possible

Poco F2 Pro not sending sms (most of the time)

Hi there,
I've been searching the internet for someone with a similar problem but nothing helped me.
My phone : POCO F2 Pro 8GB version
What's happening?
The phone functions normally except for text messages. Most of the time they are just stuck on sending . I've had some success by clearing all data from Google Messages app , uninstalling updates and rebooting the phone but this is just a temporary fix (sometimes works for 20 minutes and then stops but most of the time it just doesn't help).
Things I tried:
- Changed the SIM card
- Put another SIM into the phone from a different carrier (worked but I only tried it for like 10 minutes)
- Tried a different messaging (Textra) , this worked for a limited time.
- Looked for anything off with the SMS Center Number but it's set correctly
What I noticed :
When logging into Mi Account, it tries to send a verification message but always fails . I logged out completely from the account but nothing.
I know it's not from the carrier since it worked fine with my old phone (S9+).
Could this be hardware related?
Thank you very much
Did you try to move SIM from Slot 1 to Slot 2, and then back? Redmi Note 5 had this issue for me, from time to time I had to change slots...
So far, on PocoF2 I don't have any problems with SMS.

This might be a different topic altogether ... I have strictly this topic, I can not activate my SIM card with MiCloud services. To activate it, the SIM tries to send a SMS to a +44xxx number and my carrier does not have a commercial relationship with +44xxx network, so the SMS is restricted by my carrier and not sent. Other than that, my SMS sending/receiving works fine.
Update : look like my phone sends texts normally without any problems to specific numbers like my work phone
Hi. I have the same issue. The problem is existing only when the VOLTE service is enabled. Try to move on 3G only or just stop Volte under 4G and it will be ok. Unfortunately Xiaomi are using some specific technology for volte sms sending and the your network provider does not support it. The phone is trying to send SMS through SS7 instead of SIP protocol when VoLTE is enabled. I'm trying to find a hidden menu where I can eventually switch or choose a protocol but without success.
I have the same problem too. did you find the solution?
Disable the chat feature in the messages app. That worked for me.
unfortunately it does not help, only after turning off the volte and restarting the phone it starts sending

Device: Poco X3 (indian)
Hi, i just upgraded my phone from vivo y19 to Xiaomi Poco x3 Pro. One thing i noticed about this phone is that, it works fine in almost every department except for one thing. The SMS messaging. I notied that whenever i send sms to some one, it takes too long to send and the result is they keep receiving my text multiple times. Sometimes 10x somtimes 12x, and its really annoying especially when i send sms to my higher ups at work. My network carrier has good connection, all apps are updated, even the firmware is up to date, but the problem still persists. I already tried using 3rd party sms app, hoping to fix the problem but its still the same. Already tried factory reset but the problem is still thesame..
anyone having the same issue? Im kinda frustrated lately because of this..
I have different issue on Poco M3. SMS works except that *some* incoming messages are eaten by MIUI and never arrive in inbox. Have disabled chat option and spam protection, tried with Textra too. Biggest problem on that issue: it is not reproducable, every time we try make some test it works. Have disabled VoLTE now, not sure it has any effect

This is not the right place to post, the problem may be similar but the phone is different.
There is a thread for your phone here or here .
if you want help it is necessary to give basic information such as rom etc ...
And the first thing to do before tinkering is to reset the phone.
I don't think phone model matters as this is some issue with MIUI 11 and 12 (also on Poco F1 and M3)

Question Google phone app - filter spam calls not working?

Hi all,
I have a xiaomi redmi note 11 pro plus 5g, with the latest global rom (13.0.3.0 SKTMIXM, android 12) <-- update: just found it's the mediatek version (thank you xiaomi for calling different mobiles in the same way), so sorry to having written in the "wrong section of the forum", however I think the issue is in the google app itself.
Bootloader was not unlocked.
I'm having an issue with filter spam calls in the google phone (dialer) app.
As you may know, in the google phone app settings -> Caller ID and spam, you have:
1. See caller and spam ID
2. Filter spam calls
I have both enabled.
After the app upgraded from playstore, it seems the filter is not working anymore, meaning that spam calls are advertized as "spam" when my mobile rings (yes, the mobile rings), i.e. the calls are not automatically rejected and saved in calls history: it's like that only the first toggle (See caller and spam ID) is enabled.
The google phone app (com.google.android.dialer) version is 92.0.484272277.
The filter was working well on this phone with older versions, I think 2 versions older.
Anyone experiencing the same issue?
PS: I already tried to clean app data, but the result is the same
Try downgrading to older versions from August, it'll work. I had the same issue and this worked for me.
Thank you for your reply, that was what I did yesterday, now waiting for spam calls to see if it works.
For what it's worth I opened an issue in the google phone app community, the issue was escalated and they are saying they are looking into it; I also sent a logcat log to a gmail address they opened on purpose.
It's definitely a bug in the app.
I got a few spam calls a few days ago by the way, I can confirm it totally works!
