So i was looking to maybe upgrade my kids G Stylus from 10 to 11 re-root etc etc. ( runs a bit slow and laggy sometimes ) Then i see this option in the Retus list??
Anyone try it even though it say XT2043-8 and we have XT2043-4 I was curious if its compatible etc ( i mean its listed in the same sofia list ) as all other roms???
Also leaning towards the 2022 G-Stylus with 8gb ram ( any thoughts) BUT this maybe a cheaper quicker fix / upgrade before buying her a new phone
Android 12

Use the RETAIL one, which is compatible with 2043-4 if you want android 12:
lolinet mirrors - firmware, software, iso etc.
lolinet mirrors - powered by h5ai
mirrors.lolinet.com
The xt2043-8 one is not a real retus model (it's actually sold only in non-us markets with TD-LTE networks) and has different hardware/modem from the actual retus xt2043-4 model.

All set she now has a G-Pro running A12 with no issue so far and Android Auto wireless works much much better
one thing since A12 has more battery optimizing stuff built in i had to kill of a few otimizer apps seem they were fight the system
Root was same as before so no problems so far
she still liked the 2022 5G Stylus with 8gb Ram so that may happen but not such a rush now

I don't think I'm getting OTA updates with 12. Will try to flash the latest version. I'd probably go with the AOSP Android 13 rom if it was confirmed that Gapps works?
Flashing the latest update fixed OTA updates
So let me see if I understand this correctly.
If I unlock my XT2043-4 and load https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmwar...ubsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip.
It will have Android 12 on it?
Do I do this with TWRP or some other recovery? Or through ADB?
Any way to do it through the Lenovo Rescue Assistant software?
i think i used rescue assistant to load factory GPro A12 then i did a strandard root via Magisk...I just upgraded her to Edge + running stock so i dont need to worry about G-Pay issues etc So far the new phone is great
Thanks for the reply. I might just give it a try tomorrow.
Just downloaded G Pro A12, placed it in the correct folder, but the assistant won't let me install it. It insists on downloading the last A10 file. Any way to force it to to use the zip file for A12? Or should I just use ADB?
And if I have to use ADB what's the process? Unzip it and install every file separately?

I've found a way to install pie to my USA unlocked G7. It worked pretty well, just wasn't able to use Google pay anymore.
Edit: I can try to post a tutorial today.
Could you send me the video link via email? the rom has Portuguese Br? email: [email protected]
In the original video that was posted on youtube, they used a decompiler to mod LGUP but you can download one that has the Partition DL option in it here: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603845019
All you need then I think is the .KDZ file. I've been using the korean pie build for a few days and I do miss Google pay, but its pretty good and still pretty similar to oreo.
It works! i upgraded to android 9 via this lg up! ?

Installed pie on one of those ulm g7s. Pie installed no problem except on Verizon I get data, but no calls or sms. Other than that it's pretty smooth. Would experiment with it more if I could make phone calls. Any suggestions? I'm in the U.S.
@dexx121 which one have you tried? I think S/K/L have different freq. for each provider.
Also how did you flash it? My "G710VM10H" verizon type always stop @ 4% or 11%. I've tried Partition DL, refurb & upgrade all the same. now i'm stuck at the firmware screen
also tried the LGUP Dual & still has errors or looking for DLL for G710VM10H, same when using uppercut.

I have tried all three versions of Pie. Same result with all (data, but no phone calls or SMS). I have one of those sprint converted to unlocked g7s (lg710pm) to (g710ulm10g). Sounds like your G7 is the Verizon brand. I'm not sure if those can be flashed with non verizon firmware. Maybe someone with the G710VM10H can chime in and confirm. What error message are you getting when LGUP stops?

It is the latest at least the latest the LMSA app picks up. You can fastboot flash this over any version that is older. If you ever flash downgrade your device is bricked. During flashing just omit the step to clear userdata unless you're factory resetting.
Well I decided to try fastboot flashing this from PP029.114-16 and now I am getting constant restarts after the Motorola image appears.
Trying to fix this...
I uninstalled Magisk beforehand and did a userdata wipe at the same time when I did this.

Performed the fastboot sequence again and it is working
Does anyone know if this will work with the Amz variant? I have an unlocked bootloader, fastboot flashed the RETUS PPO29.114-16, and have Magisk installed.
Edit: corrected errors

My g7 is bootloader unlocked and rooted with Magisk. Is there a way to use the Rescue feature on the LMSA tool to download the firmware updates? When I connect my g7 in fastboot mode to my PC running LMSA, LMSA pops a dialog box "device is not supported". My g7 is XT1962-1 that I purchased through Google Fi.
My previous mobile phone is a Nexus 6 and when it was supported by Google the firmware was posted on the Nexus website on a monthly basis. I'm struggling with the process for the g7 firmware images.
So, I am on a replacement phone now. I took the latest OTA and this got me to PPOS29.114-16-5-2.
So, it doesn't look like PPO29.114-16-7-2 is released for OTA yet? I'm not gonna flash anything that doesn't pop up on my OTA going forward..

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, there seems to be some confusion. Let me try again.
1. The repository at mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/river/official does not appear to me as an authentic Motorola repository. Why would Motorola have a Paypal.me link at the top of the page for Li Huixia in Shanghai?
2. You previously provided the firmware I'm currently using

Build Fingerprint: motorola/river/river:9/PPOS29.114-16-7-2/42129:user/release-keys

Did you use the LMSA tool to download this zip file? If so, do you have a device that is completely stock (i.e. bootloader locked, no root)? If you didn't use LMSA to get the 114-16-7-2 firmware, where did you get it? It's not on the lolinet repository site in the river/official/RETAIL directory.
3. Coming from a Nexus 6 phone, I used this site ( https://developers.google.com/android/images ). I've been trying to find the equivalent site for Motorola firmware images that is an authentic Motorola repository.
I'm not trying to be impolite or argumentative, but details matter when dealing with software and hardware.
Thanks.

I've used the LMSA app to download the firmware [for all 29.114-16-X] and also the link I posted. I ran sha256/512 hashes on both zip files from each source. They were identical.
It seems they are sending android 11 to everyone but they changed the boot animation. Now when you boot you see a logo that says edge and then TIM italy. This did not happen in android 10. My moto g 5g is free retail with no brand on the box. I think there is a bug in this update. Is it possible to return to android 10? Also this update changed the intensity of the bars on the screen, now it is more generous but if you see the numeric values of Dbm or ASU these are much lower. I regretted updating so fast and I would like to go back to android 10 until 11 is fixed.
Lol, 11 will never be "fixed".
If the bootloader was updated you're boned.
Apparently on the OTA updates on at least some devices it's not being updated, you can rollback.
The 5th digit from the end of the boot loader version and the firmware are the significant digits. If the boot loader version is the same or less than the firmware, you can rollback. In this case it's a 2.
Not sure that this Samsung rule applies to Motorola updates.

Check the software channel from Settings>Telephone information (or similar), which software channel do you have? If it is timit you are on the tim software channel (and the updates depends on the carrier, but actually seems in line with reteu, the european standar), if you are on reteu this is really strange. I don't know why they miss the boot animation but the firmware is right.
Yes the software channel is timit, but in android 10 it showed the boot animation for reteu channel. And i dont know why now it shows an edge logo animation that has nothing to do with this model. It looks like they put something from another model in the update. Look at the attached photo.
I'm using the euro android 11 XT2113-3_KIEV_RETEU_11_RZK31.Q3-25-15 on a XT2113-2 and everything seems happy as a clam, *except* it would not flash the radio.img. As far as being "boned" if you went to 11 but wished to downgrade.... Has anyone bothered to try a patched vbmeta? I could go up or down on my one action using this route. I think I may just try for the hell of it.
EDIT: downloading 10 now. If it works I'll post my patched vbmeta.
EDIT: Now keep in mind I am doing this from a flash of android 11 xt2113-3 on a xt2113-2 handset... The flash fails on the radio, then next the DSP. It does however downgrade the bootloader no problem. I went ahead and prepatched the boot.img prior to flashing, and it just finished sooooo survey says.......? It worked. Now back in Android 10 XT2113_KIEV_RETUS_10_QZKS30.Q4-40-95-2. Running through the setup now to make sure it dials out etc.
EDIT: Phone dials out, bluetooth and wireless works. Havent seen 5G yet but 4G/LTE is working for sure. So yes, you most assuredly downgrade from 11 if one so chooses. Attached is the vbmeta I used.

Hello and sorry for asking a newbie question here but I don't want this to go sideways...
I have a new XT2113-2 (TM) that is yet to be boot loader unlocked/rooted/etc. I don't want to do that until I am sure. I got this variant of the phone so I could unlock the bootloader, root, TWRP, etc and was afraid the "global" variant -3 might not work with USA 5G. The phone came with Android 11 installed (and has since auto-installed at least one security update). It shows the build as RZKS31.Q3-45-16-3-11 and the baseband ends with Kiev_TMO_CUST. I am using it on ATT (via Red Pocket) since TM service just sucks where I live. And I do get the 5G icon on it now.
But ideally, I want to get this to the original TM Android 10, which I think is shown here as the file XT2113-2_KIEV_TMO_10_QZKS30.Q4-40-95-6_subsidy-TMO_SPR_RSU_QCOM_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip as I hope it will undo some of the "security" crap Google has added to Android with each successive release.
So I need to be sure of the following:
1. Can I downgrade from 11 to 10?
2. Is there some reason to NOT use the firmware mentioned above? Should I use retail US (RETUS) instead? I am not sure the differences (it would be great if that would permit me to use this phone on Red Pocket Verizon but the IMEI now shows as incompatible on Verizon).
3. Must I unlock the boot loader to downgrade? I know I must to do other stuff and I have the unlock code on hand and ready to put it if needed. If I must unlock the boot loader to downgrade, will I have to re-unlock it afterwards? And, if so, will I have to go through the same process of getting a code or will the code I have now work?
4. How do I flash to do the downgrade? I have the Lenovo Rescue/Smart Assistant installed on my PC and was able to download the stock firmware (I assume it matches what is on there now) and stashed it aside. But is there some other tool needed?
5. Once I achieve downgrade, what is the best way to avoid having the thing auto-update to Android 11?
Thanks for your help with these questions.

Nono, I flashed a patched vbmeta (why I dont know... its for boot stuff) after the initial flash failed. When that made no difference, I just removed the entry for the radio from my flash.cmd file so as to skip it altogether. Everything seems fine, however I noticed that if you run the radioinfo activity under Phone Services, no user input is allowed. I'm not certain that not flashing the android 11 firmwares radio.img has anything to do with this though. I'm on VZW, and am getting all bands it appears. IE: i'm getting both LTE and 5G

I used the one that is about half the way through the guide in the guides section for this phone. It has worked every time. The newer ones cause trouble.

Not correct. I am using it in Texas. Retus means retail US. I bought my phone unlocked from Amazon. I have also unlocked the bootloader. I don't know if that matters for this update.

And it's Android 11 from an EU build? Do you have any issues?
No
FYI, I stopped rooting etc, a decade ago, so my knowledge/ability is ancient.
I bought an "unlocked" & refurb'ed Moto One Ace 5G (I need NFC). from the Big A. I'm on Vzn.
After setting it up and restoring my account, I noticed a few TM apps, When I checked the Regulatory Label "Europe XT-2113-2".
And of course the Software Variant it "t" and the SW channel is "TM".
I ordered another from a different place, same things.
Now Ive always thought it was better to have your particular carrier's SW installed.
If that is wrong OK, if true, is it possible to load the RETUS packages on it and if so, how?
Thanks in Advance.
Dave
Verizon got a different hardware variant, XT-2113-1 codename kievv, with UW and vowifi support for VZW. You can just disable the TMobile apps you don't need and install any Verizon apps you want from the Play Store.
It's also possible to crossflash to RETUS or even the product partition from kievv if you really want, but you'd need to unlock your bootloader to do this. Unlocking your bootloader will enable a nag screen at boot and permanently wipe your DRM keystore. Modifying your system software will also break automatic updates. If you do choose to crossflash, only flash firmwares that start with your model (XT-2113-2) or some things might break due to hardware differences.
