PixelOS is an AOSP based ROM, with Google apps included and all Pixel goodies (launcher, wallpapers, themed icons, google sans fonts, Monet color based system wide theming, boot animation), a fork of OG Pixel Experience with improvements on the top of it. Huge respect to Pixel Experience team for their work, thanks to them for making this ROM possible.
In short a fully functional Pixel Experience with just the right amount of essentials.

So official TWRP (or Orange FOX) can"t decrypt data on android 12/L, but Pixel Recover can ? Some screenshots of said recovery would be usefull.
4.4 kernel is EOL. Are you planning on switching to newer version - 4.19 ?
What is DFE and where can i download it?
DFE propably stands for Disable Force Encryption

put it on sd card, the simple way is adb sideload from computer.
@sazidshahriar39
These two informations in the opening post are a bit missleading:
1. "Reignz Latest recovery recommended"
Haven"t seen that available for Whyred (correct me if i"m wrong). Official TWRP or PixelOS recovery should be recommended instead
2. "Silvercore Kernel Included"
That is also not true, unless it"s hidden under "4.4.302-Minimal™-EAS-QTI_Haptic-R26
#15 Fri Aug 12 17:29:57 CEST 2022" name
Also a note that PixelOS recovery for whyred doesn"t support touchscreen (and can be controlled using volume +/- and power button) would be a usefull addition

Thank you so much. Actually I copied my other post from Beryllium community. I'll edit the thread asap.
@sazidshahriar39
No problem
Found one bug hough. Already reported through PixelOS group chat, but it most likely got burried under tons of other things.
5Ghz WI-FI Hotspot doesn"t work.Tried and tested it in 3 screnarios. Every time according to hotspot on/off toggle it turned on
Scenario 1
Whyred is not connected to any WI-FI network. So it just works as classic hotspot
After enabling the hotspot no new WI-FI appeares. Attached logcat (h5g.log - via pastebin) and dmesg present this situation.
Scenario 2
Whyred is connected to 5Ghz WI-FI network and is supposed to share it using hotspot
After turning it on, no new WI-FI network appeares.
Scenario 3
Same as scenario 2, but whyred is connected to 2,4Ghz network. Attempt to turn hotspot on seems succesfull, but produced Wi-FI network is 2,4Ghz instead of 5Ghz.
Sorry for such big dmesg file, but i did"t know the command to erase the previous entries from it before producing the file.
I have been using this rom for 7days. my only problem is that the phone sometimes freezes/hangs suddenly. after that noting works. its like dead phone. power button does not wakeup the screen. my temporary solution is force reboot. e.g i press the power button untill the mi logo appears.
i am very fraustrated. it happens once a day and sometimes it goes 3-5times.

FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see if your device is built on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP, custom ROM's modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROM's. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm/whatever for SDK 27.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I dirty flash builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot", then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash, and then reboot.
Using the ROM:
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
- Backup your personal data (Important)
- Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
- Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
- Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
- Flash the ROM + Gapps Zipfile.
- Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
- Reboot your device.
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every update (= ROM Update)
Currently Supported Root Solutions:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions higher than 14.0 doesn't require flash on every dirty flash depending on the device, some devices need you to flash it every time, unless your maintainer says otherwise it should be fine

Oh sorry for that, I thought hardware encryption was related to the FP bug which was present in early builds of some other Pie ROMs. Anyways, is that FP bug present?

Not many, but enough. The only date is missing. I don't use Bluetooth calls.
I've been using this ROM for the afternoon, about 6 hours or so. Its pretty smooth. No crashes at all. Fair level of customization options.
I hope the dev continues with this project.
Stable for daily use. Would recommend.

Appreciate if you could share battery statistic.
It's well known that kernel 4.x is power hungry, even when idle.
Thank you.
Maybe my question is a little bit off topic, but can please someone tell me: Is it known if Google can or will ban accounts when using a phone which spoofs to be a pixel to get unlimited storage on Google photos?

Surely not. I use a rom that spoofs it on my main phone and nothing ever happened. Like if Google Photos wont detect that (which im sure that google is trying to do so to not get cheated on like that), then how would they? If it would detect somehow, it would just switch back to counting it to your quota. No reason for banning.
The fingerprint scanner Goodix does not work in some applications. In several unofficial firmware based on the Pixel Experience project, this problem has already been solved

Flashed the rom two days ago and much appreciate the work done, the battery, animations, performance all are working at their best.
Bug:
1. VoLTE not working
2.Audio/Video keeps freezing after every 3-5 seconds.
Potential solution - Turn off Hey Google
Settings>>Google>>Settings for Google apps>>Search, assistant and voice>> Voice>> Voice match>> Turn off "Hey Google".
Worked for me, hoping to get this bug solved in next update!
Keep doing great work!!
