No 3G and no 4G connectivity, only 2G works - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello! My phone lost ability to connect to 3G and 4G networks. Only 2G work. WiFi works also. I am now with LineageOS 17.1 I flashed it 2 mount ago and it works without any problem. Also MicroG, not Google play services. But one week ago it just lost ability to connect to 3G and 4G. The triangle is empty. It's not possible to scan for another mobile providers when the phone is forced to stay in 3g and 4G and using combination *#*#4636#*#*. The IMEI and IMSI is present. I flashed via TWRP several radio modems without result. I checked internally the phone - there are cable connections, visually is ok. I tryed different Rom - Resurrection Remix -Android 8.1. Again the same problem.
Thank you for your time!

XOOM 4G loses Data connection after Rom updates

I have been updating my 4G XOOM for many months with no issues to the Team EOS nightly builds Stingray 4G versions. The 4g data connection has never had issues until I installed EOS-Stingray-96 and newer. Basically, it seems as though the XOOM no longer detects the SIM card with 96 and newer. If I roll back to Eos-stingray-94 and older once again my sim card is detected and data connection working again.
I have confirmed this is also occurring with the Jelly Bean builds that is will not detect the SIM.
I have tried the usual, pull sim out, put back in, replaced SIM, reboot, power off, etc.
The Status shows the following on the builds that cause the SIM card to not detect.
Signal strength 0
Mobile network type unknown
Service state out of service
Mobile network state disconnected
Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
Well if you would search the thread you would know you would have to flash the new radio to maintain your mobile data....
EDIT: And here you go
Also be sure to update your recovery before flashing that

mobile data problem

Hello. I have a rather weird problem. If i flash a ported international rom (i.e. OA,cloudy(stock g3 international roms)) my signal just constantly drops. It is not stable in anyway. I have checked apn's. Made sure the file was deleted in system/apps. I have tried the build prop fix i saw in cloudys forum. Nothing i do gives me a stable mobile connection. It will go from 4 bars to none searching for signal. This process repeats every 30 seconds when i am on wifi. If i turn off wifi and use mobile connection it stays a little more steady but eventually does the exact same thing. My wife who is also on att-her signal is fine. This is same issue with any ported international rom to at&t. Now i am on a att d850 and if i flash the team venom rom i get a nice stable connection. I would love any help what so ever.
Thanks in advance.
So i have found the culprit. It is LTE. i can choose it to connect to gsm/wdcma and it never loses signal. i choose the option with LTE in it and when it tries to connect to lte it cant. I have tried to go into select network and i choose the option that has RAT:LTE and it cant connect ot that network either. Again if i goto team venom rom i have 0 problems and connect to LTE flawlessly! Any help appreciated!

[Q] Strange Wifi/Mobile Data Issue

Ok so I have two of the universal Moto G LTE . We were running the unofficial cyanogen 11 perfectly for afew months and on one phone became unable to connect to our home wifi, shortly afterwards the other had the same issue. Flashed a LP rom but wasn't suited to the stability of it atm so settled on Slim-peregrine-4.4.4.build.9.0-OFFICIAL-8310 with Slim-Addons-full_gapps.4.4.4.build.9-20150107, and the issue was gone. However on the other phone after a wipe and clean install of the same rom and gapps the issue persisted and further would not connect to the wifi or it mobile data though still has perfect signal for calls and mms.
I'm no tech wizard but I have tried the following;
PHONE BASED
Flashed every kernel and every rom in the Moto G LTE forums (Yes ALL but not every combination)
Tried variations on the airplane mode
Fastboot erase modems1&2
Reverted to stock RETUS_XT1045_4.4.3_KXB21.14-L1.23-4_cid9_CFC.xml.zip via manual mfastboot cmnds & MotoFlash
Changed filesystems
Connected via direct IP (still no internet though it says connected)
ROUTER BASED
Reset it (Duh)
Tried a different router
Enabled/Disabled MAC Filtering
Once I realized the mobile data was out to though stopped messing with the router.
Currently it is running the above mentioned SlimKat and works wonderfully except no mobile data even with the correct APN info and fails to authenticate wifi. I'm at a loss, did the phones ethernet chip or w/e it is die maybe?
I'll provide any logs asked for if I can get them... It's my wife's phone that is having the problem meaning I really need to fix this or suck it up and buy a new one. Appreciate any help in advance and if not I understand, thats the game when messin with this stuff as a novice.
As an update, upon the monthly renewal of the data mobile data is still working. Just the WiFi is still not working.

3g issue with MirrorLink

Hi,
First of all thank you for having so much of info and help.
I am having a peculiar issue. I own a HTC 816 rooted device. Android 5.0.2. It has been working quite good until I recently connected it with the MirrorLink with my Car's smartlink connectivity. It was initially reluctant to connect and hung once or twice. However, it connected succussfully after few attempts. But, after that I am unable to connect to UMTS mode, when I manually configure the GSM/UMTS mode. Once the UMTS is chosen, not just 3g but the mobile network too gets disconnected (Cross checked the 3g connectivity with other mobile and also the same sim works in other mobile). The mobile supports 3 modes, Global, CDMA & GSM/UMTS. Out of these only GSM is working now. Earlier Global mode too worked (not sure about CDMA mode). At the same time, when I connect the device with the car, UMTS starts working. Once disconnected, the behaviour is unpredictable. Sometimes it works with UMTS for couple of hours and in some other times need to switch to GSM to get the mobile network.
I tried to do factory reset, relock, etc, except flashing the ROM (which didnt start at all when tried). Tried restoring the stock recovery as well to install the latest updates from HTC. But, its not installing. Any idea to resolve the issue, apart from flashing the ROM? Does android support stand alone driver installation or any other solution?
Note: Hope you wont suggest to throw the mobile and get a new one

Cell service won't connect when roaming with Lineage OS on Sprint, works with stock

This is a Galaxy S5 on the Sprint Network with Lineage OS version from a few weeks ago.
Last week this was working fine and then since Sunday cell service stopped working completely. The only change I did was updating TWRP, I did not update LineageOS, but I can't imagine TWRP would have affected it. I ended up reverting back to the stock ROM thinking I would have to call Srpint customer service, but then it started working under the stock ROM. Reflashed TWRP and Lineage OS and no service. Tried older and newest versions of TWRP and Lineage OS but nothing works except stock ROM (yuck).
The cellular connection says "no service" with completely empty bars. About every 5 seconds it will flash like it is connected, with most bars and the little R for roaming, then immediately goes back to "no service". I've tried changing preferred networks and looked at settings but can't find anything to fix it.
Any ideas? It's almost like the network is rejecting it but I don't see why it would matter if it is a custom ROM.
EDIT: oh yeah and on start up it says "Activating cellular service... This may take up to 5 minutes" or and then after a while says "Couldn't Activate" and that it may be fixed by restarting the phone (which of course doesn't fix it). Also I'm not entirely sure if it is related to roaming or not.
EDIT2: I'm wondering/betting this has something to do with the ICCID number. I noticed with Lineage OS installed it says "DUMMY_NV_ICC_SERIAL" but with the stock ROM it is a long string of digits. Now maybe I can change the ICCID on Lineage OS? Or maybe Lineage OS isn't reading my sim card properly (from googling what ICCID is)?
I'm having similar issues trying to use this phone on FreedomPop. It looks like the cell services sometimes continually crashes/restarts - a reboot usually clears that up. I also get no LTE data (3G works fine). I have the correct APN AFAIK (https://support.freedompop.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3322/~/apn-settings---lte-sim). Possibly related to the "DUMMY_NV_ICC_SERIAL" issue?
I've been experiencing this issue for a few weeks now. My LTE data is functional but I cannot send SMS while using 4G. The activation screen pops up when I restart my phone, and it will only activate under Sprint 3G service. I also have the same issue with the flashing service bars, every couple of seconds -- the only way I've found to remedy the lack of service is to turn roaming on and off -- after so many tries, the prompt to select my sim card pops up and it finally connects to the sprint network.
I dont know why this has worked for me but its been a struggle and a wicked pita for me. I use Tello as a provider which is a sprint mvno. This last time to get cell signal i had to flash a stock rom via odin doing a full factory wipe to the phone. I booted into the stock rom to make sure i had lte connectivity. Then booted to download, flashed twrp via odin. Booted into twrp. installed remastered remix 5.7? The next to latest ( marshmello version not neuget ) then booted into RR. Once there i switched it from global to LTE and added the tello apn. I can not connect but i have no idea why this worked. I would love it if someone could tell me why this worked and what i can do in the future to save myself some headaches, flashing factory rom every time i want to change a rom sucks.
