How to unlock bootloader Oneplus 8 without Flash Token - OnePlus 8 Questions & Answers

Hi
Need help how to unlock IN2017 oneplus 8 bootloader without out flash token. My device IMEI is changed and T-Mobile is asking for original imei number for flash token. Is there any way i can unlock bootloader without token key.

You can get your original imei from the side of the box.

Mobile is patched. Means its imei is changed.

Hi @riyaan1526, did you get a solution for this? I am facing the exact same issue.

Shouldn't the IMEI be on the back of the device for specific models?

You also try to Dial *#06# from your device. You'll should see your IMEI number displayed on your screen.

Unlocked bootloader but now I can't unlock SIM?

So I used to DesignGears method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1672284 to successfully unlock my bootloader so I could install a custom ROM (CleanROM). Now I'm trying to unlock my SIM but after putting in my IMEI into CellUnlocker.net I got an e-mail saying that the first database returned a negative for my IMEI. Did unlocking the bootloader change my IMEI to something that would prevent me from unlocking my SIM and not change it back? Did I need to do them in a different order? Just concerned because I'm traveling out of the country tomorrow and need to get my SIM unlocked prior to leaving.

1. *#06# check your imei match your box
2. use the imei on your box to check on with cellunlocker.net
if those two doesn't match then...it changed your imei...else
if you can't get a unlock code with the imei on your box...it's some other issue lol...two people in general section had the same problem..

So don't have the box with me (it's at home) and I've removed the sticker so I'll have to check later. Do you know if the IMEI is changed during the bootloader unlocking process? If it did, can I use the IMEI on the box for cellunlocker.net even if that doesn't match one in my phone? I'm guessing the unlock code was hard coded to the original IMEI so even if my IMEI has changed, the unlock code that cellunlocker.net would provide should still work?
The unlock process doesn't change IMEI.

It hasn't so far. Well the unlock without htc dev method does but you're supposed to change it back after.
Well I used the process that included HTC Dev. I first used Spoof-CID.bat to get the token that I then input on the HTC Dev site. They sent me my unlock_code.bin. If this doesn't change my IMEI, then why wouldn't it be working through cellunlocker? I really need this unlocked before tomorrow morning.

Until you match the IMEI reported by the phone with what's on the Box, we can't know how to assist you.
It would make sense for that partition to contain your imei as well.
You're going to have to find a method to write back the backup on your sd card
The method you used made a backup of the partition before it changed it
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Another user posted on here that he tried unlocking the SIM through several different online services. They all reported that the IMEI was too new, and he would need to wait until the IMEI database was updated. Might be your issue as well.
I agree you need to just check your IMEI with what is on the box. The numbers and bar codes on the sticker are also on the hBoot screen, so you can check that also. Don't think that will change if you screw with the IMEI.
Nevermind

I believe everything was wiped from my SD Card when I formatted everything prior to installing CleanROM. Now I'm really worried that this is a big issue, but as gunnyman said, I guess I need to just wait and see what my box says my IMEI is.
What I don't understand is even if my IMEI changed, wouldn't my unlock code already have been hard coded based upon my original IMEI, so if I used that (assuming it's different) in cellunlocker, I would think my phone would accept the unlock code? Does changing the IMEI in the phone change the unlock code as well?

Well if it helps at all, the IMEI shown in HBOOT with the barcodes matches the *#06# number. Don't know if that's recoded. Guess I sit nervously until I get home to see if it matches that box. Not sure whether I hope it's the same or different, because if it's the same there is no explanation for why I can't get my unlock code!
Appreciate all the help and I'll chime back in once I check it with the box.

True. I guess what I meant to say is there is no fix for me by tomorrow if that's the case.
I am having an similar issue with my One X. I probably should have tried to sim unlock it before messing with the phone but its too late now.
What I mean by messing with: Unlocked bootloader, flashed kernel and installed new rom. After doing that I went to cellularunlocker.net for a code. They gave me a code with didn't work (ultimately got a refund). The very next day I got a friend who has AT&T to get the code. Turns out its the SAME UNLOCK CODE that the website gave me. Now I'm at my wits end.
Can someone please help me. I need this working before I go on vacation in a few days...

HAHAHAHAHA we have another thread of similar jibberish on the x+ forum
Makes sense to me. I think what he's saying is: since unlocking his bootloader his imei has changed to a false number. And he's wondering if he can do a sim unlock even though he has a false imei number.
Sent from my One XL using XDA Premium
I was curious, I know its illegal to change your imei but we can pretty easily. And this kinda drives off topic
Couldn't somebody come up with a method to hex edit in a set imei that we know the unlock code for, unlock the phone and then restore the original imei
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk 2
i think you guys dont understand. When i want to unlock i have to give my imei and im getting the unlock code through regeneratig it with a imei code.Willl the phone unlock with the fake imei. Im not sure if my imei changed. Can it?
Maybe the reason we don't understand is because you're not explaining it well enough. Sorry but you're not making much sense.
Are you trying to do a sim unlock? To change mobile carriers? If so, I don't think it will work if you supply them with a fake imei. It will not match the one they have on record, and that will raise suspicions.
Sent from my One XL using XDA Premium
I can guarantee you that trying to use your fake IMEI number to unlock the phone will end in disaster. You will need to use the ORIGINAL IMEI number that was programmed into the phone.
At this point in time, trying to unlock the phone using the original IMEI may still end in failure due to corruption of the MODEM partition. The way unlock codes work is that they are calculated using an algorithm which takes the IMEI number as an input or it is taken from a database (which would be cheaper and faster), if using the database method it would come back as not found and if calculated it would simply give you a unlock code which is not compatible.
how to check if my phone has changed it imei? Was there a chance the imei chcnaged while rootin unlocking bootloaderband having a custom rom.Thx
rooting , unlocking bootloader or flashing custom ROM won't change your IMEI. IMEI and unlock code both are different. For every locked phone ( say uniquely identified by IMEI ) an unlock code may exist..

Thx for info but how do i check if my IMEI changed.
Look at the imei on your box, or the engraving on your simcard tray.
Just FYI, no method of rooting or flashing here has the capability of changing imei, except the unlock method that specifically states it will be doing so.

He is just saying by default it wont do it unless the method explicitly states it does in the instructions just saying dont count on it unless its said to change it in the instructions :good:
My IMEI number is all zeros, but I think the sticker on the back of the phone tell you what is originally was. It doesn't bother me, but I guess I'll take my case off one day and fix it. It really doesn't affect anything though once you're unlocked.

Can't Unlock Bootloader

I tried using OEM unlock with my passcode (received from official Huawei website) using fastboot, but it responds failed everytime. Just recently, I realized that OEM unlock isn't actually there under Developer Options, so could that be causing it? My model number is LON-AL00, so I'm not sure if the bootloader is unlockable.

If you have AL00, so you should have Chinese ROM, cause it's stock. Chinese stock ROMs do not have option "oem unlock".
In this case you should do factory reset before unlock (something messed up and prevent unlock)
But if you have international ROM (rebranded by someone), you should turn option "oem unlock" on.

It does keep it as a Chinese stock rom, but it removes your Google account and that's probably what triggers FRP lock. You might even have to remove pin/fingerprint as well.

You won't see that option, it doesn't exist in the chinese ROM. What I mean is that FRP prevents you from unlocking bootloader. If you've added a Google account / pin / fingerprint you need to factory reset from recovery before trying to to unlock bootloader.

Then I'm stumped. Try contacting Huawei? You might receive an answer. Probably best to just call them. I've tried with emails 3 times, though it was for the kernel source so it might be why they never replied.

Thanks, I'll try that. The last time I contacted Huawei about why OEM unlock was missing, they told me they won't assist me in any bootloader-unlocking process. Hopefully I can get the correct code this time.

I struggled for a few days until someone suggested this solution to me. I worked instantly. Don't ask me why.
I suppose you can enable Find my Phone after unlock but I didn't do that.
Anyways, a little update: I've managed to unlock the bootloader. The actual code I used wasn't from the Huawei, but DC Unlocker instead. The strange part of this is that the DC code was 16 numerical digits, whereas the code Huawei provided me had a mixture of both numbers and alphebets. Hope this helps anyone who encounters this issue in the future!
