I want to make a Custom ROM for a old Coby Kryos MID1042. But I don't know what ROM or version of Android I want to base off of. How can I have the ROM pre-rooted and have apps preinstalled. What is the best that is good for older devices? Can Lineage OS run on it? How can I make the ROM run even if the ROM maker does not support it? How can I make a custom TWRP recovery for it? Also can I make all the ports work on their?
Device Specs:
- 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 32-bit
- 1GB of RAM
- 1 Full size USB, Mini USB, Mini HDMI, DC in, micro SD up to 32GB.
- 8GB of storage
- Current ROM, latest AlienDroid based off of Android 4.0.3 ICS by PowerPoint45 (Discontinued)
-USB supports mouse, keyboard, USB drive, USB hub, etc.
The ROM I want to make Specs:
-Based off of some Android 7.1 ROM ( if device can handle it!)
-Pre-Rooted
-Gapps?
-SuperSU included
-Multi Tasking (splitscreen apps like on iOS 11 and some Android devices)

I'm a programmer in java but not in phones.
I can upload the custom os but still black screen. I just replaced the scatter file in the new os android 8.0 --> black screen
The phone is rooted so I could replace the rom on it.

I'm looking for a Custom ROM, Android 5.1 or higher, currently running Android 4.1.1.... for my Proline Rockchip rk30sdk DuelCore 10" Tablet, Kernel Version 3.0.8+ ... that I can install manually due to not having a pc. I have already root it successfully with Kingroot. If I can find a better Kernel upgrade, that would be an even bigger bonus. I would greatly appreciate all advice and help. An Android device's kernel is LINUX, what Android OS is based on. You probably mean upgrade Android OS?
