Upgrade from OnePlus6 - General Questions and Answers

Hey, i have been using OnePlus 6 from the time it was released. Country : India. Need an upgrade from this phone. Budget : till 50k INR +- 10k. I want a phone which has good battery life and hardware. I play some mobile games like Arknights, efootball 22, genshin etc. Also I travel a lot, so something which has nice width of network bands for local sim network please. Was thinking of Samsung S21 but feel free to suggest me.

Hi
I think on a Rs. 50K budget there are three smartphone models that you can consider depending on gaming performance and battery life.
1. IQOO 9T :
It has the latest flagship processor from Qualcomm i.e. Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 (TSMC) which performs better than snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in terms of thermal throttling and heat management. The same chipset is used in ROG Phone 6 Pro which is probably the best gaming smartphone right now. You can play most of the games in maximum settings. Battery life is also very good. It has a 4700mAh battery (which can easily last one and a half days, depends on your usage) with a 120W fast charger in the box which can full charge the battery within 30 minutes. It supports 9 bands of 5G and 4G carrier aggregation works as well. You can check the all the supported bands in the official page ( https://www.iqoo.com/in/products/param/iqoo-9t ).
The IQOO 9T starts from Rs. 49999. You can get upto Rs. 6000 discount on prepaid and selected bank card payments on official website. Also you will get a IQOO Gamepad worth Rs 3999 if you buy before 10th August.
2. Vivo x80 :
It comes with the lastest flaghip chipset from MediaTek i.e. Dimensity 9000 (TSMC) which also handles thermal throttling and heat management better than Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset (SAMSUNG) and it is also very power efficient. Gaming performance is top notch and battery life is also excellent. It has a 4500mAh battery (which can handle single day moderate to heavy usage ) with 80W fast charger in the box which can full charge the battery within 45 minutes. It supports 11 bands of 5G and 4G carrier aggregation works as well. You can check the all the supported bands in the official page ( https://www.vivo.com/in/products/param/x80 ).
The Vivo x80 starts from Rs. 54999. You can get Rs 3500 discount on selected bank card payments on official website and flipkart if you buy it before 9th August.
3. Oneplus 10T :
You can consider OnePlus 10T if you are an OnePlus fan and looking for a bloatware free OS then "Coloured" Oxygen OS 12 based on android 12 will fullfill your requirement because both IQOO 9T and Vivo x80 has Funtouch OS 12 based on android 12 which comes with bloatwares pre installed. It also has Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 (TSMC) SoC whose performance is top notch. It has a 4800mAh battery (which can easily last one and a half days, depends on your usage) with a 150W SuperVOOC fast charger in the box which can full charge it within 20-25 minutes. It supports 11 bands of 5G and 4G carrier aggregation works as well. You can check the all the supported bands in the official page ( https://www.oneplus.in/10t/specs ).
The OnePlus 10T starts from Rs.49999. you can get upto Rs. 4250 discount on if you buy it before 10th August.
Among the three I think IQOO 9T is the best value for money smartphone according to your requirements.
Let me know if you have any confusion regarding the information. If you purchase any of the three smartphones, please share your experience after using it.

10GB of ram on a phone. We're not in Kansas anymore.
Sexy phone. If I had money to blow, I would get it. However realistically it's just a OnePlus 6 in a cute dress.

Exactly and the 845 processor is about to be left behind as the SD855 is going to be in the next round of phones in Feb or Mach. This is the reason I think the T variants are a money grab and aren't worth getting as you're basically paying premium for tech about to be replaced with the next gen. At least with a regular OP6 you get to have the top end chip for a year before it's replaced.

Last Kirin Standing - An Upgrade Dillema

I guess I'm not the only one around with an old good Mate 20x waiting patiently for this year's new phones revelation firmly determined to upgrade.
And I did some research. I don't want to replace the phone for something worse. I'm not into such a big screen anymore, I prefer something lighter and more ready for one hand manipulation.
There is not much available or coming to the higher class. According to reviews, Galaxy S20 has problems with the main camera, besides Exynos for non-US markets lags significantly behind Qualcomm and it is overpriced. Note is not substantially different. Oppo seems to finish this year's production, its Find X2 pro is currently the best choice but it still has software problems. There is an interesting new kid in the block - Vivo X50 pro plus, but Vivo is so slow regarding system upgrades that is wise to forget it. Otherwise there is another mighty product in the market - Xiaomi Mi 10 pro, its's really ugly according to today's standards and the global software is buggy.
Sure, there are bunch of Huawei phones from Mate 30 pro 5g to P40 pro+, they are still actual and reliable. And a new pair Mate 40 and 40 pro are coming. It's now confirmed and some of their characteristics are known already:
1. Both phones are coming wth curved screens, Mate 40 pro with a waterfall 1080p OLED 90Hz display in dimensions between 6.7 to 6.8 inches, which is just right for my new orientation. The displays of the Chinese manufacturer BOE have been chosen by Huawei for its next high-end smartphone, namely the Mate 40 . The most powerful version of the terminal, the Mate 40 Pro , will have three companies as official suppliers: Samsung Display, LG Display and the aforementioned BOE.
2. They might have 24 and 32MP selfie snappers and Mate 40 phone might have triple settings in the back camera with main 50MP RYBY, 16MP ultra-wide, 3x optical zoom lens respectively, while the Mate 40 Pro version comes with 4 sensors main and wide 50MP RYBY, 5X periscope and a ToF sensor.
3. The battery of phones will have the capacity of 4500-5000 mAh with the support of 66W fast charging technology, and 40W wireless charging.
4. As we already expected both phones come with EMUI 11 on the base of Android 11 (without GMS) and are rumoured to round late September/ Chinese language Nationwide day which falls on October 1, 2020.
5. There are more improvements already speculated as outstanding performance, 5G capabilities, system optimization, ID design, unique features like remote thermometer.

All these are good news but there are bad too. Both models supposed to be equipped with the new 5 millimeter SoC dubbed as Kirin 1000/1020. But we know that the producer of this chip TSMC stopped receiving orders on May 15 and all due Kirins must be taken over till September 15 according to the US trade ban. There are rumors that Huawei didn't assure enough chips and that deliverable quantity could only cover 80% of expected Mate production. Not to mention that Huawei might want to save some of these chips for next year's P50 models. Hence the Kirin supposed to be intended only for Chinese market, global Mate 40 phones might come with Mediatek Dimensity 1000+ SoC (Samsung's dual chips policy). What looks like a bad joke: Dimensity 1000+ is not a 5mm chip, it's not equivalent Kirin 1000/1020, it's even well below Snapdragon 865. Make no mistake: in 2021 5g becomes something that makes a difference between phones.
And there is more. The most important improvements of Android 11 seems to be 5g and electronic id documents support (together with car keys replacement). The end of China - US trade war is nowhere in horizon. On the contrary - the CCP aggressive attitude toward China neighbours is bound to bring even greater restrictions. Huawei is working hard to attract developers to its app store but more and more Chinese apps are blacklisted every day. There is not only GMS outage to consider (it could even be bypassed), the growing limitations of use Huawei products puts the new Huawei phones on the risky side.
The bummer is that Huawei is so highly above the rest in R&D investments that there is hardly any decent competition. We'll see what might bring Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro+ and Nokia 9.3 if they are real.
For me there is no upgrade path from 20X.
Maybe ROG Phone 3 if the cameras are great but other than that idk

This is how I feel as well. If Huawei would of simply allowed launcher changes on my phone (china phone) and bootloader unlock so I could eventually move to lineageos it would be perfect. It's one of the only phones that didn't slow after a short time. I feel like once the security updates run out I'm hosed due to not being able to update it to another room.

Help before buying mi 10 ultra

I'm planning to buy mi 10 ultra
But I'm afraid that the phone is made for China
That the phone will not connect to lte because of the missing 20 band
Any idea?
I got a new Samsung Note 10+ 256/12gb ram for $800 last week. Build quality is a lot higher.
Not easily rootable though. Built in Nam.
Lots of issues with Chinese stuff... just saying in the $800 range there are better alternatives.
It uses lte/4g/sub-6 5G fine depending on your carrier.
Do your research based on your own carrier though, and keep in mind, generally phones marketed in other regions typically don't have support for all the bands (thus ensuring the fastest and most stable connections) in the U.S.
You can compare bands and services using this website:
Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra: Price, specs and best deals
As with the vast majority of Xiaomi phones, the Mi 10 Ultra does not go unnoticed far from it. It has the well-known Snapdragon 865 that we can combine with 8GB, 12GB or 16GB of RAM and a storage capacity that has its ceiling at 512GB. With this data, the AnTuTu score reaches 589,000 points...

That's probably you're only option unless there is a global release. Custom roms are good with popular Xiaomi phones.
I would have already ordered if it had all LTE bands .. but some are missing (for Germany)
so I will skip the Mi12 and stay with my Mi11.
The Global device will cost to much in germany... thats why I always buy a CN import device

Giztop had the lowest price. Use code alexwang for 3.5% discount.
Just got email phone was dispatched today.
I have Xiaomi 12 pro, but I don't know how to sell it to people in other countries. Maybe ebay is a good choice,I can put it on ebay if you need it
got mine today from tradingshenzen delivered to a suburban of germany/berlin
I purchased some from a Retail store in China. So far they've been really great....I just need to change to global version as Im not a fan of the CN one.
I got mine from a seller on eBay UK. CN rom with Google apps side loaded. Got the phone plus 3 cases. It cost me £450 after eBay gave me a discount.
I agree with eshlad about the CN rom, especially the Chinese notifications plus it doesn't connect to my car.
It has one plus point though, better signal reception than my Mi 11.

Question Best honest places to buy 12 Ultra from EU

As above, any recomendations where to buy a 12 ultra from? I see most sellers on Ali sell ultra with Global version, which is guess is just a rom reflash. Id prefer to buy an original chinese rm and then flash the eu ROM myself.
thanks

I've been buying from there for ages and all perfect, you can even email them to send a sealed version (they usually open the box to check if everything is ok and install play store)
I've bought from Wanda mobile for several years without any issues or import duties.

1 year warranty. you send the device to germany i think where they have the warehouse.
I also have great experience with TradingShenzhen. I also have after sales experience. You can read more about it here. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/axon-40-ultra.4445957/post-87356365 I used the refund to buy the S12 Ultra, which should arrive in about 10-14 days from China. They have the 256 Gb version in stock in Europe, which should arrive in a few days without additional shipping costs. Good luck!

1 year return to them in China but I can confirm they do honour this and if you use the right route, it doesn't has to cost much more to ship there than it does to Germany now we're not part of EU . Both good service.
Aliexpress to avoid.
In comparison with the 12 pro:
A bigger battery, ip 68 but no 480 Hz sampling frequency, camera less good, 3 bands less, I find it expensive compared to the 12 pro.

Battery identical to the 12 pro and it's really the fault of this phone, the autonomy.
Lack too many 4g bands for my region
I would rather go for a Mi 11 ultra.
I bit the bullet today and ordered the 12 S Ultra. I have done some testing and only once I saw band B20 so we'll see. The current demand for 12 Ultras in Europe is huge so selling it back won't be a problem if im not happy with it
I bought it from Quickmobile.ro very nice price, 20% off and QUICK202 is a 3% off voucher.
I paid 6199 RON, which is about 1250 EUR. Waited 7 business days to arrive via courier, right at my door.
I'm waiting for the original case now, bought from giztop
I got mine from tradingshenzen. They even emailed me to say that they have a same spec device that a customer didn't collect, in a distribution center in Germany, and would I accept it instead of a new delivery from China. It arrived the next day. I've seen them recommended on other forums too.
