Press bluetooth button, open camera and start recording video - How? - General Questions and Answers

Is there anyway to set up a phone so you can press a button on a bluetooth remote and trigger the phone to open the camera and immediately start recording video?
Because there is a significant delay between seeing an event unfold that you want to capture and taking your phone out of your pocket, unlocking the screen, opening the camera, switching to video mode and pressing record. It would be very useful to be able to press a button which could be clipped to your waist or worn on a lanyard, whip your phone out and just point it at the action. You would catch a few more seconds of the start.

Get a special dongle that can do this. I use a selfi stick that does what you describe.

Call Status Screen

Is it possible to disable the "hold" feature on the call status screen? I'm left handed and every time I pick up a call my face touches the screen and puts the call on hold.
Or can i change the HOLD button's position on the keypad?
Call Status Features (When i make a call):
Speaker On Mute Hold
Note Contatcs End
Thanks!
Haha, funny, but I want to find the answer to this too. I sometimes End the call or press Speaker On when it touches my face.
try to find caller from forum Development and Hacking with somethig like a slide locking features off caller... i think it's from opal but i dont relly sure
Easiest, since it's a built-in feature, is to press the power button before raising the phone to (and touching) your face. This will turn off the screen, making it impossible to touch any of the on-screen buttons AND will NOT disconnect your phone call. Using the red end-call button to hang up will cause the screen to automatically come back on so you can continue using your device. If you need to use something on the device (contacts, calendar, etc) while still on the call, press the power button again and the screen will light back up - all without messing up your call.

[Q] APP for recording past audio?

When I press record button it grabs last X seconds and continues recording.
Is there something like this on Android? I had that on Exilim camera but for video. In that mode when I would press record I would already have last 8 seconds before button press and could never miss anything.

[Q] Camera shutter and media and volume buttons dont work

Camera shutter, media button and volume keys (zoom) stopped working. Recently flashed chronos brianlee version. Camera app opens from app folder but cannot take a picture or video. All suggestions are welcome.
Thank you
Do they work in openrecovery (to rule out hardware failure)?
Thank you for replying.
Yes. They do work in Open recovery.
When I hold down the shutter key to take a picture, it just tries to focus, a green box comes on, but does not complete the action. Oddly, the same result when holding either media or volume up, volume down keys.

[Q] Set Camera button to end call?

I was wondering if there is any possible way to have to camera button end a call while on a call, and work regularly as the camera button usually does when not on a call. I know there is an option to have to power button end the call, but I prefer to power button to turn the screen of during a call so I don't accidentally hit mute / hangup / dialpad with my face.
So, is it possible?

How to change the action of the bluetooth selfie shutter buttons?

I've bought this wireless selfie shutter, but you have to download some other camera app to have it make pictures.
I'd like to just use the native camera app.
Plus I would like to use the IOS camera button as a video record button. I've actually managed to do it by downloading this app that will start recording in the app when you press the volume button 2 times up (what the IOS button actually does when I press it).
But once again I'd like to have it start recording in the native camera app.
I didn't really seen other apps what could like change the buttons or just do something else what I'd like to do. I'd like it to do the same as the Dimple.IO NFC buttons if you know what I mean.
Thanks!
Never mind! The one button can just take a selfie and I've changed the setting in the native camera app that it starts a video when you press a volume button
A mod can delete this thread, or if someone else maybe didn't knew this they can use my information
