I accidently blocked a friends number a couple weeks ago. I unblocked it but my phone (Note 22 Ultra unlocked on T-mo) keeps blocking the call, we can text but not call. I went into the settings and turned off Caller ID and spam but it lets too many other calls in. I switched it to "only block high-risk scam calls" and now I can receive calls from my friend but still get some spam calls. I want to put it back on "block all spam and calls" but anyone have an idea how to make sure my friend who's number is stored and saved in my phone can call me?
Try to restart phone then clear phone app cache followed by app data if still blocking.

Its definitely something with the dialer. I installed googles phone app and no problem.
Who is your carrier? When you block a number, it gets reported to your carrier. Log into your account with your carrier and look for anything that references call filtering or number blocking. You should be able to unblock the number.
If you are using a third-party call filtering/blocking app, check it.

So I keep getting calls from auto-dialers coming as "Unknown" on Caller ID.. I answer and it's that 5 second delay then someone in a foreign country asking me to sign up for a newspaper or refinance. I want to ELIMINATE these calls. I have a block list that works good in Android, but it doesn't allow me to ass Unknown to blocked calls... I saw some posts from several years back, but nothing recent. Is there anything good out there today that I can install to block unknown\unavailable calls from coming through to my phone?
Thanks!

Yeah I saw that but the screen still flashes on and shows the missed call, even when I click delete it from call log. I wish there was one what didn't even process the call, like the built in blocker.
This should be an advanced feature of Google Voice as well. Anyone been getting calls from 0000123456 recently? Haven't been able to pick up yet, but I have missed two calls from this number now. Saw somewhere it might be skype caller. Wonder what could be done by porting Asterik into the Android kernel and having some nifty virtual PBX features built in!

The one that drives me nuts is the calls from Indian telemarketers.... US telemarketers are required by law to send ANI with their calls, but calls coming from outside the US don't have to comply, or aren't able to be enforced. I say if someone doesn't present their #, I ought to be able to reject them from getting through to my phone.
We in India are also facing major trouble with telemarketing calls & after being put to notice by the supreme court they have now started sending text sms, the best defense I have found against this is "Extreme Call Blocker Droid" this can block all private numbers or you can specify a list of starting numbers eg. block all numbers starting with 800
*Hangup mode block voice mail
*Block anonymous/private/unknown/blacklist calls
*Block unknown/blacklist SMS,
*Built-in private SMS mail box hide private txt msg
*Schedule on Google calendar to decide when to block.
*Hide private number calls in/out, no call log.

You can customize it to your hearts content & have a peace full day.
To trace the callers we have a site in India which you can use for tracking all kinds of numbers & text IDs.
http://www.indiatrace.com/index.php
then there are free apps too like blacklist-free & many other with similar features.

The one I use is called Easy Filter Call blocker. It can block calls and sms messages, including unknown numbers. You can set it to block them without notifying you if you want it to.

Block unknown Callers
You can block unknown callers by using some advanced phones.
in these phones you can either blacklist some selected numbers or reject all unknown mobile numbers (numbers which are not added in your SIM / phone's phonebook will get rejected).
Root call blocker pro. Its in the market.. Works great and doesnt show the caller, it just rejects it right away in the background and you can have notification of when calls are blocked. Also has sms block

I have a Verizon Blackberry that has been sitting in a drawer for 4 years. It was given to me when I was helping someone out with their computer. I am not sure where the phone comes from originally. It was wiped when I received it. The other day, I gave it to my little sister so she could play with it, and she immediately tried calling my phone. The call went through. I haven't ever activated this phone, but it can make outgoing phone calls. All outgoing calls show up as restricted. It can't receive or send text messages. When I try to call the number that the phone says it has, I get a generic voicemail and the phone does not ring. Noone ever answers the number, or calls me back if I leave a message. On outgoing calls the 1 and the area code have to be dialed, otherwise I get an error message saying that this phone is not active at this time. Does anyone have any idea what this phone is or why it still makes outgoing calls?
Bump... any ideas?

Maybe you have accidentally blacklisted him?
You put him to blacklist. Check security settings-> blacklist.
The phone app that came on my Phab2 Pro is not Google's and it doesn't seem to have any way to block spam callers. Anybody else have this problem & how can I fix it?
BTW, I tried installing the real phone app (http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...gle-phone-7-0-140755802-android-apk-download/) but it fails with the message "Parse error".
I installed the Asus contacts and Dialer from the play store. It does just fine for now.
I use Truecaller app. I googled 'best Call Blocker for android" and Truecaller came up on top of several review list.

I'm still using it and I have not had any issues. Has it worked at all for you? If so I'd probably Uninstall apps that you've installed since. If not then maybe start with a fresh install and put that on first. Since you have the same phone it has to be an app conflict.
I use Google Voice, I will never give out the phone number that my carrier assigned me. I only give out my Google Voice phone number, you can block callers or mark as spam. I did like one feature that comes with P2P phone app, the ability to record an active call and it will record both sides of the conversation.

Me too, no problems blocking with Google Voice. Problems with the cell line. Trash marketers programatically continuously dial all possible phone numbers, noting which are activated, without regard to whether or a not lines are cellular. Numbers that are answered progress to stage two, spam calls.

Tried backing out apps but no joy. Wiped phone and now all works. Think the problem was related to removing the SD card last week to make room for 2nd SIM.

Ahh, might have a solution for you. Back in the days before cell phones were popular, landlines ruled the earth with cassette tape answering machines. I would get the same trash and telephone marketers with their systems listening for the caller to say hello and connect you to their marketers, if no one picked up then their system would call until someone picked up. BUT! if that same system got a certain signal it would remove the phone number from their call list.
this link is automated recording of a disconnected or number not in service. Save this as your voicemail greeting, the tones you hear at the beginning are what tell their system that the number is not in service and remove you from their list.
How to block number in lenovo phab2 plus??......it has no option for privacy in settings and call details also does not show any options to block
I recently upgraded from S7 to S8 and found out internet calling is misbehaving, outgoing calls no longer allowed.
Here's how to fix.
I would provide links but XDA developers has this policy "ALL new users prevented from posting outside links in their messages." so there you go you'll have to work more and find the links manually.
Install the "Galaxy SIP accounts" Oreo app . Look for package eu.liebrand.galaxysipaccounts on the Google Play Store. Make sure to pick the one that has "Oreo" in the app icon.
Using the Galaxy SIP accounts app access the secret menu to create an internet account and allow incoming calls.
To make a outgoing call, go to Phone app, Call Setting, calling accounts. Select the calling account for outgoing calls. Then make calls by selecting a contact and sliding right from either the phone app or the contact app.
I noticed you might need to wait a few minutes after a reboot for Internet Calls to work. I'm not sure why.

I just tried this on my SM-G955W (Galaxy S8+ with Bell Canada firmware) and it only works partially. I can add the SIP account and I can call it from my other extension (if I have it set to receive incoming calls) but I cannot call out or even call back an incoming call from the "recent calls" history.
There has to be a way to get this native functionality back completely even if it means flashing different firmware. My business uses a SIP-based phone system and I need to be able to add my extension to my phone. I need to be able to call out to customers using the "company line" when I am off-site but still connected via Wi-Fi.

I have the same problem. I used to have a Galaxy S8 From the US. Worked perfect. Now I upgraded to an S10e from Canada, and nothing I've tried helps.
Any suggestions?
