Yes, it can handle 1080p60 even in 2x speed
4k30 HDR Easily
4K60 Struggles

Just checked the images for the "Tokyo light trail" video, I can see the difference with the washed out gray path at the bottom of the image.
I just checked the video with my P11 Plus, the path area is NOT washed out gray colour and has a touch of blue but as it's not OLED it's not quite as rich (IPS).
It looks like HLG is working, I would take an image but ambient light is way too bright right now, I can add an image later though.

No problem, with regards to the "K-Choreo 8K Weekend" video, the colour on my P11 Plus is between the two examples you gave, I do notice the screens brightness increase when full screen.
With the Samsung test video I used VLC to play the file in it's ".ts" format and it worked fine, I also renamed the file extension to ".mpeg" and it played fine with the tablets default video viewer.

Hello, I only just got the HTC ONE mini yesterday and just trying to get to grips with a couple of things, mainly the stills camera. I can see in the setting you can change the video resolution but I cannot for the life of me see where you can lower the resolution of the camera say if i want to shoot in 1024x768 or 640x480 - can anyone point me in the right direction please.
Also when I have taken the photo how can i go and adjust the brightness and colour and contrast and sharpness of the photo before sharing it using the inbuilt htc camer app rather than having to download snapseed or another post processing app? - I have tried 'edit' and then 'retouch' but rather than sliders for brightness contrast and saturation etc it just gives skin smooth face lighting face contour etc but no control of photo brightness or anything else - thanks for any help.
i have the s7 from AT&T, model SM-G930A. it is running android 7.0
using the default camera app, how to record a "flat" profile and set the aperture??? i was able to set ISO and shutter speed only.
i also tried "Open Camera" and "Camera MX" app. Open Cam gave me full control but whenever I record videos, the mp4 files could not be opened by VLC or windows media player. weird
There is no such thing as variable aperture in S7. I would suggest to try Cinema 4K, it has flat profile, ISO, shutter and manual focus with custom bitrate up to 100mbps. But to be honest, built-in camera is alright. You can make your color profile, lower contrast, highlights and shadows and you have flat profile

i actually bought Cinema 4K. during recording video, i can see the picture stuttering. when i tried to play back the video, it's just stuck on the first frame, there's no motion at all.
sadly, it was too late to get my money back when i found out cinema 4k does not work properly on the samsung s7
I'm looking for same solution

Youtube HDR videos pale-coloured. But other videos colors are okay, I saw same video on Oneplus 6 colors are good. Is the problem with my device or is everyone facing same problem. Otherwise Vivo needs to provide some software patch.
I compared with OnePlus 6
In the attached images OnePlus displayed vibrant colours, bur Vivo NEX displayed colors in light

I also noticed this.
While if you watch any video with hdr in mx player on Nex , it shows brilliant colors.
you might ask me "why dont you just record in regular SDR and not HDR10". for me, at least on the LG G8, i noticed that if I record in HDR10 the usable dynamic range is SIGNIFICANTLY better. For example, the skies are not blown out, there is rarely anything over-exposed even if I set EV to +1. If I used regular SDR video, things are overblown and looks bad.
The ISSUE with HDR10 is that unless I'm playing that video back on my LG G8 or a compatible HDR10 TV, it looks extremely washed out. I simply want to take advantage of the high dynamic range of the HDR10 feature but be able to allow others to view it easily. Can I do this "in-house" on the phone easily?
I'm not a video guru, however I know i CAN do this if I import this into something like Premier and apply a preset then export the render. But it's just steps that I prefer not to take.
Thanks!
Hello! You first need to convert it, read this post on how to convert HDR10+ videos to SDR (standard dynamic range), so they can be viewed on non-HDR devices with brightful and not washed-out colors as the original:
I can't insert Url so google it "maxvergelli.com how-to-convert-hdr10-videos-to-sdr-for-non-hdr-devices"
Some fix for the exaggerated lateral margins that it makes in the videos to the screens of YouTube, Netflix, etc.? You can zoom and fill the screen but the video in its original format, has an excessive crop.
In other Xiaomi devices this does not happen.

First of all, I am pretty sure you posted in the wrong category. This should got to Questions & Answers.
Did you ever play GameBoy Color games on the GameBoy Advance?
If yes, you noticed, that all the games had black margins, except you were resizing the image with the L/R button.
The reason for that is that what is being displayed does not match the resolution of the screen. So if your video is 480*240p then it will have margins on a Full HD or 2k display.
Same goes for any device, like your phone. Previous phones did not have margins, because they probably had a screen resolution of precisely 1920x1080p. So most videos will fit perfectly, because that is a very common resolution for videos.
Now the POCO has a higher resolution: 1080 x 2400, which is not perfectly standard. Your video is guaranteed to not have this resolution, as can be seen from the screenshot. So of course there will be black margins. The only way to "remove" the margins would be to resize your video or get an older phone with a resolution of exactly Full HD.
Conclusively, that's not an issue with your phone or whatever. It's an issue regarding different resolutions, which happens to EVERY device on earth that has a display measured in pixels.
Although they are related it's more of the aspect ratio thing than resolution. Common aspect ratio for content on platforms OP has mentioned is 16:9 where our poco has 20:9 screen. 16:9 was the most popular on mobile devices before the "bezel less" era and still is the most popular for TV.
Try to do the pinch outwards gesture to stretch the video to full screen?
Use the Video Toolbox?
