Dear XDA devs,
I'm looking for teammates for my automotive software / hardware project. We want to develop modern cockpits for motorcycles that can be easily retrofitted. For this we still need people who are familiar with Android or Android Automotive OS.
We have funds, but they are limited.
There are enough buyers (a lot of positive feedback and pre-registrations). We have several large chain stores that are interested in our products and would like to distribute them. Potential investors are also willing to invest, but would like to see more.
We are currently trying to put together a team to develop one of our devices. There is a lot of work to do, but once we achieve our MVP, we will no longer have to worry about financial resources. Everyone involved in the project will receive company shares, the amount of which we have to negotiate together.
Production costs for prototypes are secured, as are other costs in the event of outsourcing or material/software purchasing.
As mentioned, we have some financial security. However, we cannot pay high salaries until we reach our MVP.
Prerequisites would be experience in:
- Android system architecture
- Hardware development / mixed signals / microcontroller programming
- Android development - front end / back end
- UI/UX design
Of course, you do not need to have experience in all areas. However, you should already be an expert in your field.
If you are interested, please contact me and I would also be happy to answer any questions in the thread.
PS: If this thread is in the wrong place, please let me know so I can try to move it.

well, i’ll start off by explaining myself. I’m a second year software engineering student. The Stage one of my degree focused on the fundamental computing principles, where i stuied six modules ;- computer systems, computer communications, internet technology, software engineering, problem-solving and programming and computing mathematics.
In stage two my degree specialises to develop further areas within software engineering. Studies include formal specification of software systems, internet programming, software engineering group project and systems design and development.
Anyhow thats enough about me. I’m currently seeking a similar minded/age junior software developer whom are willing to work along side me in order to contribute towards a software solutions company, as i’ve got some funding to start my own company and will be willing to employ about 6 people as a start off to do some programming ,the more language(java,c++, javascripts, html, UML, XML…etc) you know the better, must be socialble and able to work within a group as most of the work will be team based. If this sounds interesting to you then please feel free to email me for more details with a portfolio attached.
Almost forgot, you must have some coding background before applying.

Dear users of xda developers
Within the context of a research project by the Institute of Technology and Innovation Management at the Helmut-Schmidt-University Hamburg, we are investigating the potential of online communities as an instrument for the prediction of future developments and trends. We are planning to execute an “idea contest” which separates in four phases. We have no financial interests in the ideas. We are only interested how online communities discuss about the future.
THE PROCEDURE
First phase
How will open source software and operating systems look like in the year 2030?
This phase is a brainstorming of the future development open source software and operating systems.
The ideas and concepts should be posted within this thread and be discussed with other users. It doesn’t matter how detailed the concepts or ideas are. There is no right or wrong. Every idea and concept, regardless how farfetched or ‘exaggerated’ will be considered.
Time period for this round: 14 days.
We are looking forward to your discussions!
If you have any questions, just write here in the thread or contact us. We will guide you through the contest!
And now let’s start with phase 1!

Cloud Computing
Hey Guys,
This sounds quite interesting.
I think cloud computing will play an important role for the future and will replace external storages.
In my company everthing is saved and stored in a cloud.
What do you guys think?

Hello everyone,
We're trying to create a new open-source app distribution platform named Spheris, using blockchain technology. We are really interested in your thoughts – both devs and users. We're also open for possible collabs for those who are interested.
We’re utilizing Ethereum’s blockchain technology to build Spheris as a decentralized platform. This makes a lot of cool things possible:
No registration and transaction fees, as opposed to traditional app marketplaces who charge up to $100 for registration and 30% per each transaction. No technical restrictions or censorship. Optional anonymity. Forget about the need for credit card companies or banks – you will be able to buy and sell apps using our digital currency (Spheris tokens), with the option to exchange for other digital currencies (such as Ethereum or Bitcoin).
Customers will be able to purchase apps without going through registration and without credit cards. We’re also trying to accommodate devs whose apps have been removed from Google Play for questionable reasons.
Your Feedback = Extremely Important
We are in the early process of gathering valuable feedback from devs, and see if this is a platform that devs would like to be on. For users – do you guys see this as a platform you would buy apps from? Would love to start a discussion! For devs - have you had bad experiences with app stores (de-listing, ranking issues, not being accepted etc)? Does the concept of decentralization sound like something you might want to be a part of?
If you need more info, have a look at spheris.io or just ask me here.
Your questions and feedback are much appreciated,
Thanks
PS - apologies if this isn't the right forum for this topic!
