Dear members,
I bought a gear S3 frontier about half a year ago. I bought it from a second hand shop. I have been using it since and it was all good. Unfortunately few weeks ago strange things started. Usually I switched off during the night to save some battery. One of the morning when I switched on it started to lag. When I turned up my wrist the screen stood black. I thought that is unusual. After that I was scrolling through the menu and I noticed that the watch lags. Which never happened before. I rebooted it and in the first minute it was sort of okay but after it started to lag again alplus the battery was draining faster.
Strangely if I put to charge when it is turned in and I charge it to 80-100 percent after it works perfectly. No lag and no draining and the battery hold for about 2 days. This afternoon just to try I was in 56% and I switched off and on again. It drained to 0% in an hour. I put to charge an after charging 20% it was working perfectly again. I tried around 12% but was laggy but after 20 was perfect.
I have tried factory reset. I tried installing an older tÃzen. The current one is 4.0.0.7. I am using it with Xiaomi phone. I tried with Samsung as well but there was no major difference.
Can anyone kindly help me what to do? I really love this watch and I want it to work like before.
Thanks in advance,
Attila

Hi All,
Got this funny problem since I have flashed TNT WM6.1.
My mobile battery shows some funny traits.
1. It can suddenly go off (even if the bar is at 87% or 63% or 30% or anything of that sort)
2. Once it goes off, it gets into a loopback of restarting the device, goes upto the screen where WM6.1 logo appears and restarts again.
3. The only way I can then get it restarted is to get it to plug to a powersource.
4. When I plugin it shows within 5 min that the battery is fully charged.
5. I use audio manager a lot and its like every 30 seconds 1% of battery is gone.
Have search through the forum but haven't found anything like this.
Anyone has face a similar problem and found any solution?
Any help will be much appreciated.
I am on SPL/IPL 3.08.
Time for a new battery....
I ran across the same problem. It turned out that the terminals on the battery were seriously worn down so much that the battery couldn't hold a charge to safe it's life let alone mine!!!! I went to a battery store and replaced the muthaf^$#a!!!!!
Go grab a new battery and you'll be electric sliding again in no time!!!!
Thanks Trej3k. Much appreciate your response.
Yeah
Had the same issue.
Replaced the battery ... and now everything is fine.
Now I don't expect 5 days without recharge but at least 2 days.
Along with the new battery I bought an battery charger so now I can use two batteries.
The nice thing is that the old battery is lasting at least as the new one, Maybe because of the charging more regularly and not so frequently and because both batteries never go in usage when they are hot of charge.
Try your thing

I had the same problem pretty soon after I flashed my ROM for the first time. I would charge to 100% and then browse the Internet or take a call, and the device would reset within a couple of minutes b/c it would think it was out of power. The timing may have been a coincidence; I don't know. I bought an extended battery and everything works fine now.

I had the exact same problem right after flashing to wm6. I really wonder if it's a coincidence.
I ordered a new battery today because I have exactly the same problem. I also apeared after flashing WM6.1 a while ago an became worse with time. Since my battery is 3 years old, it could also just be a battery at its end of life...

I just got an Android Wear watch and switched from a Gear 2 Neo to the Gear Live. Battery life was pretty good with the Gear2 with my hate for battery to be below 50%, I could get to about 8pm and stay usually no less than 40%. Yesterday, my battery life was horrible! I paired my Gear Live and everything seemed fine. Later that night, my phone was taking a very long time to charge, like 5 hours from 36% to full. I got it to 80% and went to sleep. I woke up and my phone was dead! This has never happened before, so I plugged it up, turned it on, went to GSam and it said Kernel was using 60% of the battery with like 1.5 hours of CPU usage. I unpaired my watch and phone, and even turned off wifi on my watch to try and prevent any communication with the watch and phone, and my phone went from needing 5 hours to charge to the usual 1.5 hours. I unplugged my phone this morning at like 9:30 and at 2:20 it's at 50%. I disabled Google Fit, but don't know what else to do! Has anyone else had this issue?
Nope. I have G Watch R paired with G Flex 2 and battery life on both devices is normal and charging time is same. I dont know what causes your problem, but i would do following: Firstly i would reset watch and pair them again (in settings do Factory reset) and if that isnt working, reinstall Android Wear and if not,the worst scenario is to do reset of phone. I cant tell more, fortunately nothing like this happened to me.
Thanks for your help. I tried reinstalling the wear app and found a way to disable Fit there when pairing and battery life seems okay.

yeah ahh felt screen and is was hot to the touch this lasted 20 mins even after doing a factory reset thinking an app was causing this problem, i have no idea what lead to this i am using a portable 1000mAh charger that i was using but because the batt is 3000mAh i didnt think this was the cause of it. anyways its cooled down only after i allowed it to go into standby for 10 mins weird LG PLEASE DEBUG this issue because my 700 dollar phone gos pop. anyone else have this issue?
When did you start experiencing this? Was it before or after the MM upgrade? Mine has been doing this for the last 3 days and yesterday the battery did not last more than a few hours where normally it goes almost 2 days. I got the OTA upgrade to MM last week and I noticed it getting hot after that. I also noticed that my Wi-Fi or lte is constantly dl/ul something. I think that's what is causing the heat. But I can't figure out what is causing the data dump.
Edit: I turned off my data and Wi-Fi and I see that my phone is now cooled and can charge. ( live been charging all morning and was only at 70%
Check and make sure ATT Message Sync isn't on/syncing. I bought a Gear S2 and it turned on, on it's own and had the same problem.
So I just got Mine today and after I charged it I set it up and went on my way to work when after about 2 hours every seemed fine was getting notifications and calls added some music it from my phone. And then it vibrated and I lookd down and it was off. And now will not power on. I cant believe that the battery could have drained that fast in a little over 2 hours. I dont have the charger with me at work to make sure. But is there anyway you guys think it could have drained that fast. Is there away to maybe try and reset it.
Hi, I installed the S3 update over the air to my Korean S2 a couple of days ago. Everything seems fine except for issues with the battery. I Can take the watch of the charger after an overnight charge and wear it all day, powering it off before i go to bed in the evening. When i shut it down the charge can be over 50% but when i power it back on in the morning the charge is just over 10%. If i leave it powered on but not on charge the percentage will increase over the next couple of hours back to just under 50%. The problem is i can never be sure what the true state of charge is, so i am unsure whether it will last the day.
Anyone else having this issue or know how to fix it?
I have problem with battery. Battery is discharging really fast.
That's weird. My battery life seems pretty good. My watch has been off the charger for 5 hrs and I'm still at 94%

Yeah, it looks like that first 2-3 charging cycles were not good, but today I have really good battery life. ... So my problem is solved.
On the old firmware I could wear it 16 hours and put it back on the charger with over 60% left. Since the update I am down to 20% in four hours. I've done 2 hard and one soft reset to no avail. The battery thing on the phone app says its my watchface and I should use a dark one but I am. This, frankly, is a show stopper. I can't recharge 2 or 3 times a day. Any idea how to reinstall the R734XXU2DPG1 firmware? That worked.
Apparently a couple of recharges fixes the battery issue. Don't know why but it does. So far at least.
Hi
I just updated my gear s2 classic yesterday with the new ota, my battery doesn't even last for 2 hours now, before it gave me 1_1.5 days. In battery usage it shows 22% usage by contacts and 19% watchface even though I'm using the stock with no customization and even the background is same as default for menus.
I've denied the permission for gear plug in for contacts even then the drain is too fast.
How can we fix this, any ideas.
