I'm trying to port the SM-T580'S ROM to the T280. But, they have different specs. Is it possible to port the T580'S ROM to the T280?

I saw many posts about how to port a ROM. But in each post, there are many requeriments. My real question is to port, for example CM 10.1 for my phone that uses ICS 4.0.4 Stock ROM, but I don't know the real requeriments. In a post I read that it had to be the same manufacturer, for the drivers problem. Plus it said that must be the same resolution, the same Android version and the same processor or processor type. Can Anyone tell me wich are the real requeriments to port a ROM to my phone?.

I have been looking at roms for my device for quite a while. Some are ports of s4 and xperia stock roms. How to port the latest version of android to my device? I read up on some guides and they all state that the port rom can be any working rom for my device and the base rom should be from any device which has a similar chipset. But there aren't many devices in the market with MTK6589 chipset and the existing ones don't have android 4.3. My question is , how did people manage to port the s4 stock rom to a mediate device. (the s4 has an exynos chipset). And how do people manage to port the latest android versions to their devices.
This may be a noob question but I searched through the forums and couldn't find anything much helpful.
PLS:I have some experience with Linux and its commands but don't know much of coding.

1-they have deferent hardware.
2-porting a rom from other device is not simple as just copy-paste, you should know what kind of drivers use between 2 roms and should be same version.
3-I try to port pure aosp 4.4.4 from opo find5 my device is recognized as opo not gt-i9105p then stuck on animation boot.
4-with some modifications may work but it will buggy as ****ty.
Could any developper make a tutorial on how to port MIUI to newer devices with MT6763 Helio? Thanks.
