[Resolved] How to compile Stock Android Source Code such as MMS.apk

I am new to android development and started messing around and building the example source in Eclipse Helios. When I do new project > existing source and open up the Mms.apk source (stock, from android's git hub, it says the source has errors and they need to be fixed before I can build.
I tried this on my Ubuntu 10.10 machine and used repo to get the entire android source, thinking maybe having the entire platform source would help. I'm still unable to build the source so any edits I do are useless.
Can someone tell me what I'm missing? I know I'm doing something wrong or skipping something, but I can't figure it out.
Thanks

sorry to double post but i'm not sure why it says "Resolved", i think the app made me add it in or something. anyways the status is still currently unresolved. any help much appreciated.
bump??? i hate that it says resolved there...

[Q] CyanogenMod and Lg source code

Hi everyone!
I tried to find information or if someone have just write before...but i think i can't find the way..
My problem is: i have the sourcecode of my Lg device and i have sync the cyanogenmod repo...how can i merge the code?
My device is LgC550, unfortunately is not supported yet but i want to develop custom rom..can someone help me?
Sorry for my bad english!
I don't think that that's as easy as you think. As far as I know Cyanogenmod isn't build from the norman android OS and so you can't just mix them and have a new rom But Maybe I'm not right.

How to compile aosp source code for specific devices?

Hi guys, I'm a total noob to android custom roms, so please don't abuse me if I've just asked something very obvious to devs...
Please don't reply giving links to the aosp project, I've already seen them.
Assume I have the system needed to build from the source code.
How do I exactly configure the toolchain for a particular device(say moto g xt1032)?
Do I get configurations with the 9gb download, or do I have to download it separately? And will I be able to successfully compile a working ROM for that device?
I just wanted to know more before diving into my new project.

[Q] Help Building unofficial ROM

I'm trying to build unofficial Dirty Unicorns for the TF300T. I've been using this tutorial to set up my build environment:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/chef-central/android/tutorial-compile-lollipop-ubuntu-t2929410
I've managed to sync their repos and all that, and I've come to the device tree. I wasn't able to find an equivalent tree on Google's website like the Nexus 7. So my question is, where can I find the tree(s) for my Transformer? Is building for a device really as simple as combining the repo, device trees, and blobs? That's what this tutorial implies. Or am I likely to end up with a crappy build?
Wow.
you might be able to find the device tree from the omni rom guys. Last time I tried to do this it was for my ME301. I was able to download the device tree from the Omonirom gerrit page. Poke around the Omnirom guys site and thread and see if they have it. Here ya go. This is the cyanogen github page. it looks like they list both the tf300t kernel and the device tree for cyanogen mod ROM
https://github.com/CyanogenMod?utf8=✓&query=tf300t
That might be a start
Here is the wiki page for building Cyanogen Mod for the tf300t and it might explain some steps better
