Wireless Download (AP MODE) not working after flashing wrong ROM - Samsung Gear S3

Title says it all.
Wireless Download isn't working, even if I double tap the power button or hold it for 2 secs then release it.
Any idea to fix this? Or do I have to use Wired Download instead?

I had this happen awhile back when I ordered a T-Mobile version and they sent the Verizon version on accident. I didn't read ahead to see what happens if you flash the wrong rom and end up bricking the watch and was longer able to access Wireless Download mode and connect to NetOdin. What I had to do was get a charger from the original Galaxy Gear S watch (that clipped to the backside of watch), slight disassembly and modification and the metal pins used to charge the original gear S watch will fit into the access port on the side of the Gear S3 watch and allow you to connect the watch to PC via USB and flash using regular Odin. There is a guide in these forums somewhere if you search, or if you have any questions, feel free to ask

There is another way to do this if you have the tools and skill but requires disassembly of the watch and soldering a usb cable to the motherboard of the watch to connect to usb and flashing stock rom using Odin. Once finished, removing the solder and cable, and then reassembly.

[Q] USB Not Recognized

I have a Samsung Showcase (Cellular South Version) and yesterday morning my phone had been working perfectly. That evening when I was in download mode I couldn't get Odin to see my phone. I rebooted and now it doesn't give me the option of Mass Storage or even say USB connected. But it does charge via USB to PC. I have tried 4 Win 7 machines and 3 different cables. I have also tried cleaning the connection with alcohol and sprayed with air spray to clean. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Samsung drivers a bunch of times. I have also installed Kies. But I am totally lost and need some direction thanks. If all fails I'll just have to exchange it but I'll pay for that.
Same thing happened to me with my mesmerize. Make sure that once connected you hold down the volume key to enable "download mode". Once i did that it popped up in Odin. Hopefully it works for you.

How long did you hold it, I been holding it for a while maybe a min long and nothing happens.
I always just hold the volume button down, then plug it in to get in download mode. Try dialing ##8778# from your dialer and make sure the second option USB, is set to PDA and not modem. Also are you using the usb cable that came with your phone? Ive used some other cables I had laying around and while it would charge it wouldnt recognize in odin or as a storage device. It was visible that the cable werent going as far in as the factory cable.

Thanks and ##8778# had the PDA selected. I have used 3 different factory cables and still a no go. Maybe I pushed it in further or something. I am so clueless with this and its really buggin me that I cant figure out whats wrong. I might just have to get another one.
Do you have an aftermarket battery installed? IE not a sumsung official? Inoticed aftermarkets don't register sometimes and cause odd issues

Naw just the one it came with
I am seeing no phone USB after 2.2 update.
This page says to select TWLauncher and then connect. That worked for me.
I am using Ubuntu Linux, and the page says same connection error for Windows.
Try pulling the battery out before plugging it in and hold volume down when you plug it in that's how I got odin to see mine also try diff ports on the comp if you haven't already

Login to TWLauncher and it popped up asking if I wanted USB storage in use while connected. It was instantly found by Linux and then copy was fine. It must have been a first time setting, for now the USB connection question appears what ever Home Manager I am using.
Seems first use of the camera prompted a firmware update today also.

HDMI and USB at same time

Hi,
Saturday I had some time to open the HDMI dock (for Galaxy Tab 7) and mod it to have alternative power input.
After that I was able to use the HDMI output and USB host at same time. The setup is:
- HDMI out for Samsung TV
- wireless USB keyboard
- external HDD connected with a powered HUB
In this setup I was able to use the keyboard and video files from external HDD while watching on TV screen.
The only problem is that the "MTP Application" notification is still there and the tablet is not full powered from external power supply, it discharges slowly the battery.
After some investigation I've seen that on the original charger there seems to be some resistors between USB lines and Vusb and GND. If I connect the original charger (not inserted on power outlet) the tablet is full powered and the MTP Application is not displayed (when I put the tablet in dock). After that if I remove the cable and insert the USB host cable everything is OK and tablet is full powered with USB host and HDMI working.
The docking is powered with 5V/2A PDA DC adapter.
When I'll open the dock again I will make some picture.
Your are welcome for questions and suggestions.

HOW MUCH?
Cant believe this is my first post on any message board EVER but what better reason! First i would like to know how much would u charge to make the modification for me? I would provide the dock and any other materials that u need of course. Secondly, since the dock works with ALL tab variants(PERSONALLY ONLY TESTED WITH P1000, P7100, P6200, P6210 BUT 99% CERTAIN), u might want to post your development in every other versions forum. I believe this would generate a LOT more interest in this project because there actually has already been a few threads created in which several attempts were made but no one could find the magic combo(plus it could mean a few extra bucks in your billfold!). I waited to post in hopes that u would update with pictures and/or a tutorial but still would rather you perform the actual surgery. Congratulations on accomplishing what samsung should have done from the start...a TRUE multimedia dock! I guess the only suggestion i could offer is if it were possible to actually add a few usb ports into the base of the hdmi dock itself, which is how i feel samsung should have made it originally...definitely not a priority.
Here are a few reference threads if interested & i've already provided a link in each one pointing to your original post for those interested (hope u dont mind!)

Sorry, but I can't do this for you.... It's complicated.
Now I work to found a solution to put an USB connector on the dock and to put a power connector to.
The big problem is that the tab enters on MTP mod when powered this way. As described on other threads there is a way with USB lines to activate full external power.
When I'll have a full modification dock I'll put some pictures and instruction for that.
waiting for pics and further info please...
Galaxy Tab Dock modified
Now I have a full functional dock, modified.
So, after receiving the Galaxy Tab Plus media dock from ebay I've found that I can change the tab fixing part with the one on the old Galaxy Tab Dock.
So, now I have old Galaxy Tab multimedia dock full compatible with my Galaxy Tab Plus.
Then I modified the dock to include standard power jack and standard miniusb connector for OTG.
The USB Host is powered from the external power supply, this helps to not discharge the battery when using tab and slow charging.
I made some pictures with details for connections and modification.

There was some work to do...is not very easy. The best thing that can be done is to make a PCB. That PCB, at in my pictures, could be fixed near metal weight. Also there the clips of the case need to be cut, but there is no problem because at same position exist screws for fixing.
The problem with MTP application started when power connected or tab inserted on dock remains. But now is easier to use external HDD, usb keyboard & mouse and television to watch movies.
That's amazing, Emil! That's the dock accessory Samsung should have sold in the first place. After looking over your pictures, I'm ready to go order a soldering iron and get to work!
Hi emil b just letting you know i was playing around with my dock and found how to get rid of the red x from when power is applyd.
First connect power and get red x....
Then disconect the earth and re connect it again..
This forces AC Charge mode...
No resisters or shorting data lines are needed..
So good for being in host mode...
All you need to do is put a on/off switch inline on the earth
Where you supplied power to the dock.
Doesnt need to be inside the dock..
Give it a try and let me know...
Just have to play with it and hit switch a couple of times...
Im looking at all options concerning the modification of this dock. One question that comes to mind is: If I only use the red and blackwires to send power to the USB connector, will I still be able to use the OEM 30 power connector??
OP, I am going to attempt to make this modification myself. Would you be able to provide any additional instructions/suggestions to the pictures up on Flickr?
Thanks,
cypher

No because the origonal charger has the resisters on the data lines...
you are better to add just power to pin 7(9) and earth to pin (1)30..
then add a otg dongle..

plz help me (measy u2c android tv dongle)

i have bought new (measy u2c android tv dongle) when attached with tv it show but attach mouse with it it hang i push reset after some while it on and i again attach with computer and when attach mouse again stuck this time i pushed power button after that nothing on tv and also try my best to attach with computer but nothing led light is but no computer detect and no tv show plz told me what can i do
plz help if some body know plz help me
Relax man,why don't you try another mouse? or something else just to test it, like a keyboard or a usb drive or anything you can attach to the usb port.
the button that's on the side isn't a reset button (it's used to flash roms on ur android stick)
if you want to reset go to Settings>Backup and reset>Factory data reset>Rest and erase everything!
problem is that this time it did not show on tv and did not attach with computer just led light on
how can i will do flash on it i mean how can attach it with computer i pused up reset button and
than attach data cable but nothing happen on computer.
Have you connected the cable into the port on the side, not the one at the bottom. The one at the bottom is only for power.
Also, downlaod the custom ROM from here and go step by step through the readme file. I would post the link, but I'm new to posting so I'm not allowed. Search "Measy U2C/B12 Finless ROM 1.7"
This happens when its not receiving enough juice from the power source. Try using a shorter usb cable or does it have a power adapter that you plug into the wall?

S7 Screen Dead, Phone on - How do I access it for backup?

So my new S7 's screen is completely dead. I can see the soft buttons light up and I've been trying to swipe but I can't. I was going to try to screen mirror to my Fire TV (by looking at a vid and hopefully hitting the right places to get it to connect) but the screen isn't passing any input.
So my next thought was to get a USB OTG cable and a mouse, although I have no idea how fast the pointer will move making guess the steps to connect really hard. I was also looking at chrome extension Vysor, but again, it need debugging enabled (which isn't) on the phone for it to work. Apparently sammy discontinued MHL support so there's no way to just plug in to in a TV with a cable,
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can force access on the phone to get a backup? Again, I need something that will let me see the screen, preferably in as little steps as possible (the more menus I have to navigate, the less likely I'll be able to blindly fumble my way through)
Thanks!
Anyone?````
same situation here, not much resources out there. Is your phone still connected to your wifi? mine is not so I can't get google play to install apps to it.
If you can though...
Samsung SideSync was recommended on another forum, similar to vysor but might work wirelessly for you
Good luck, and please let me know if you find a solution. I might by vysor to try wireless (they haven't answered me whether or not wireless version by passes the need for usb debugging)

If it's turning on (except by the screen) you can use Smart Switch or Kies to recover your data.

OR You can use FIND MY MOBILE if you registered a Samsung account to unlock remotely and use USB.

Side Buttons flex cable broken. How to Turn phone on?

Hello XDA Members.
As the title says, the flex cable for the entire right side of the phone is broken (meaning no FP sensor, power, vol +/-, or shutter buttons). The phone ran out of battery and turned off. Is there a way to turn the phone on without the buttons? (maybe by disconnecting the battery while charging, similar to older models?)
ADB is not detecting the phone, USB Debug was probably not enabled
I'm looking for a replacement flex cable, but they're very difficult to find as this model wasn't sold officially in my country. Can't order online either sadly (3rd world country)
Solved.
Here's how for future reference if someone encounters a similar issue.
1. Disconnect battery and reconnect it
2. Download and install Xperia Companion Tool from Sony (tested on Mac, but the Windows version should work as well)
3. Choose Repair Software/Xperia on the Companion tool
4. Connect phone to computer using a USB cable
5. Disconnect phone when the Xperia splashscreen appears.
Done.
EDIT: Nope, phone froze and tried this, didn't work again.
