Screen is not full when broadcasting via HDMI cable - MX Player

Hello Mx player support team
I have a problem .
I have a Samsung Q60A screen
I bought an hdmi to type c cable
To stream movies from my phone to a screen
And when I want to stream a movie through an HDMI cable in this format Thor.The.Dark.World.2013.2160p.BluRay.HEVC.TrueHD.7.1.Atmos-BHD
Whether it was 4k or 1080p
The image becomes imperfect from sides through Mx player
Unlike vlc player, there is an option. Show the movie through the TV screen and the phone screen....or show the movie through the TV screen only
When I choose to show the movie from the phone screen and TV together, it becomes an incomplete screen
And when I choose from the TV screen only, the screen becomes full.
Why is this option not added in MX player!!

[Q] HDMI How To Turn Off Pad Screen.

Hi,
Is there any chance to turn off the transformer screen while i'm connected to Plasma by HDMI? I wanna watch a movie but the screen is on and its consume battery...
When i use YT build App the video is only on Plasma TV but other video apps like Mobo Player are on the tbalet screen and TV screen.. Any optiona solution for these?
Best Regards!
Thomas
Depending on the app, certain video players will turn off the screen automatically when playing thought HDMI similar to dimming the status bar. I believe MOBO does this but Netflix does not.

[Q] Hdmi Output isn't 720p

Im using a micro HDMI to HDMI adapter and a normal HDMI cable tested and used in other devices, but whit my XOOM[4.1.2] The screen don't fill show all my table screen (im not referring to the 80 px that the status bar has, i know that dosen't show) it just appears cropped.
Im testing whit a Philips 32'' 32PFL4505D, the tv dosen't have an option that can help me
I think I saw this over the weekend. For some reason I had to go into the TV settings and have it "auto-detect" again. Then the TV properly scaled the picture to fit on the screen.

[Feature request] Use MX player as remote controller via MHL/HDMI cable

Hi
When I use VLC player via MHL/HDMI cable connect to second monitor, I can use VLC as a remote controller, and VLC will dim the phone's screen after touching nothing in seconds. I like this behavior, and VLC also has an option to turn it off. I think MX player should also implement this feature. At least make MX player dim the phone's screen after touching nothing in seconds.

Sounds like casting, which is already in the pipes.

reviving this old thread.
During MHL/HDMI connection MX player now dims the screen, but the content keeps playing on the phone, probably using more cpu power than needed (resources that could be used for the playback).
Instead, VLC plays the content on the HDMI screen and the phone's screen shows only the play controls without showing the video itself.
(Like seen here https://www.piloteers.org/forums/11...s-movies-using-old-android-phone-via-mhl.html).
Not sure if this happens also for the new Displayport technology (USB-C to HDMI) found on high end devices nowadays.
Maybe this could be fixed so no resources are wasted to play the content both on the device display and the HDMI screen, and the full CPU/GPU power can be used for demanding file playback.

It seems that you have misunderstood the concept. Most of the system resource will be used for the decoding purpose. When you using the device with MHL, the device will still decode everything. The only difference is that when you use the mobile as remote, the connected screen is considered as a remote display and the video frame is rendered on the remote display instead of the device display. In simple words, still decoding and rendering are done by the device. So, there shouldn't be any noticeable difference in resource usage.
This is where casting comes into play. On Chromecast, The device will just act as a file server. The rest will be done by the receiver. On the downside, the chromecast doesn't support several video profiles. So, you may not be able to cast even if your mobile supports decoding of the same.
Anyway, will highlight your feedback with our team for further improvements in this aspect.

You misunderstood me. I do know that the phone's hardware decodes the file and transmits the signal via microUSB-HDMI (MHL). The problem is that playing the video also on the phone's screen MIGHT reduce the overall performances of the decoding.
If you are sure that there's not difference in playing the video BOTH on the phone's screen and the HDMI connected screen VS playing video ONLY on the HDMI screen (like VideoLanPLayer does, as shown here https://www.piloteers.org/forums/at...-phone-via-mhl-120160219_162058-1024x576-.jpg), then i'm satisfied.
Hope the question is more precise now.

MX III output resolution issue

Hi guys,
I have a MX III Tv Box, and a really old Toshiba Tv. The Tv only have a VGA input (no HDMI), therefore I'm using a converter from HDMI to VGA.
But I have a problem, when I set the MX III to output in 720p, the TV seems like getting a good resolution (with the edges cut off) but the entire screen is half greenish. When I set the MX III to output in 480p, suddenly there are no issues with colors, but of course the resolution is only 480p.
The only output options I have in MX III are 480p (Good colors, but low resolution), 720p (Greenish, good resolution with edges cut off) and 1080p (Showing nothing, black flickering screen).
When I try to connect my laptop using the HDMI to VGA converter, the Tv works perfectly fine on 720p (I think, it looks HD).
One last important thing to say is that when I connect my laptop, the TV shows "Input XGA", but there is no such setting where I can modify the TV to always stay on XGA setting. When I connect the MX III, when on 480p it says "VGA PC".
Does anyone know if:
1. Upgrading the firmware of the device may help, if so, to which firmware?
2. There is a way to control the output resolutions and settings of the device, other than what there is with the stock version?
3. Any other idea?
I will really appreciate it, I'm desperate
Thanks.
