Question MiFlash unlock issue - Xiaomi 12

Hello,
I'm trying to unlock my Xiaomi Mi 12 2201123C, i've installed newest OTA update.
I have two of those phones, first one was unlocked without issues (still waiting a week) but the second one is showing "Please rebind and try again"
In Mi Flash logs i can see:
DEBUG <12:22:16.763,T:14776> : sign result:{
"code" : 20056,
"descCN" : "请重新绑定后再次尝试解锁",
"descEN" : "Please rebind and try again.",
"description" : "请重新绑定后再次尝试解锁",
"uid" : "8172355320"
}
did anyone had similar issue?

you have to rebind your device to your account. you can do this at the devoleper options, mi unlock status. maybe you will have to wait 7 days to unlock

currently the Xiaomi servers are having issues, afaik you don't have to rebind, but wait till Xiaomi has fixed their servers

Rebinding account does not help, still having issues :/
@FurriousFox where did you see that those servers are having issues?

just everyone who recently tried to unlock their bootloader has issues, and it's a server issue cause it should work with a new account (for the highest success rate: create new Xiaomi account with US region and use that one to unlock your phone (the 168 hour timer will be reset))

I cant unlock bootloader xiaomi mi note 3

hay, please help me? I can not unlock bootloader in my mi note 3. I've tried various ways but have not found a solution yet. always listed (youre mi account not bound)
:crying:
First, you need to download SoloVPN (change region server to China - connect) than go to Mi unlock status and there bound phone with account. After that wait 72 hours and than unlock.

You can find a lot of VPN by which you can connect to Chinese Cities. While connected with VPN service, go to unlock status and tap bound to this device. Then to unlock the bootloader again.

Newest Global Stable Rom: V9.5.18.0.ODGMIFA

The global stable which is floating around is very old, so here's a newer one.
http://bigota.d.miui.com/V9.5.18.0.ODGMIFA/miui_MIMIX2SGlobal_V9.5.18.0.ODGMIFA_a9e31fa04c_8.0.zip
It might be possible to update to this if you are on older global stable.
Nightly builds are also updated at:
https://funkyhuawei.club/mimix2builds
We have up to May 8 builds now.
I will add stable builds there in the future as well.
Thanks a lot. Is it a fastboot rom?

Not a fastboot rom. Regular OTA zip.
Cool thx!
Could you please provide fastboot ROM version as well?

Hmm do you know if this is flashable within the updater when we have a locked bootloader on the chinese stable (8gb variant)?

It's not. It fails due to region mismatch. It might work if you have an original global phone, but not on Chinese.
For Chinese, only hope of switching to global is unlocking the bootloader.
Just FYI, you can't install it through Updater app as this update is a beta update. Flash it manually with TWRP.
Edit. At least that's what Updater app tells me, I'm on v9.5.4.0 Global.

Thanks for that insight.
I am really pissed at Xiaomi: I am a 5 year Gold user in their forum and once even was a beta tester and admin there, in the Galaxy Note 1 + MIUI days.
When I bought the Mi Mix 2S 8GB variant last Sunday, I logged in with my MI Account, which has unlock permissions since 2 years and I was able to unlock any new Xiaomi phone I ever bought immediately without waiting for confirmation SMS anymore (as the Unlocking permission is on account level, not device level).
Then I enabled Developer Mode and went into "Mi Unlock status" to press "Add account and device". After that I started the unlocker application as usual and tried to unlock, which failed. with the message "Wait 360 hours" which is over 10 days! Damn...
Later I checked the developer settings again and saw another thing "OEM unlocking" which is set to OFF.
TLDR; Do you know if we have to set this to ON as well, before starting the unlocking process?

I set it to on before trying to unlock and my device was unlocked immediately. I'm a Diamond member and was a beta tester in 2017 though so I'm not sure if that makes any difference

From my experience yes, you have to switch it on. I'm pissed off as well, got the device mid-April and got it usable only a week ago on the 3rd of May, as 360h is a heckin' 15 days. Gotta think twice before buying anything Xiaomi again, though Mix 2S is beyond amazing thus far <3

I think that would be theoretically possible:
Set your device's MI Account to an account that already has unlock permissions.
In developer options add the device for unlock permissions.
In developer options turn on OEM unlock.
Unlock.
But never tried. I'm sure xiaomi is banning accounts that unlock too many devices, because thats how they prevent resellers from buying chinese devices and flashing the global rom in big quantities.

Chinese resellers, generally, have been using EDL to flash the global rom without touching the bootloader. But it seems not possible with Mi Mix 2S. I think they're trying to prevent resellers from installing compromised custom ROMs, which is fine, but 15 days is still a long wait.
My account also allows unlocking, but not instantly it would seem, as I got the 15 day wait. I don't have any kind of special account, but I've had it for a long time.
On the Mi Mix 2, I had a 72 hour wait, which I didn't really mind. But 360 hours is a long time!
Anyway, theoretically, if someone offered me their account which can unlock the phone instantly, it would be a gamble. If it turns out it doesn't work to unlock the phone instantly, I think my wait would get reset to 360 hours again.
any news about root?it's working correctly by flash magisk from polaris recovery?

I can confirm to you, that having that option set to ON, in developer options, the result is the same...i got an "WAIT 360 Hours" too.
Got my message text last Sunday, granted me to unlock the device, then when i logged into my Mi Account to unlock it, gave me that message...so, got to wait 360 hours.
When i flash a global rom, is the bootloader still unlocked? Have the china version with unlocked bootloader and xiaomi.eu rom at the moment.

Yes, your bootloader won't relock again and if you relock it you can unlock it instantly again without waiting the 360h.
@duraaraa
Can you find fastboot ROM version of it? That would be highly appreciated.

I'm impressed with the difficulty to release a fastboot version for the Global Rom.
For every build has fastboot version on bigota servers but more difficult to find them than the recovery version

You first have to enable developer options, then go in and...
1. Enable OEM Unlocking
2. Go into "Mi Unlock Status">scroll to bottom and then "Add account and Device."
With this said however, it will still not likely work. Once you try again and it fails, you have to request an Unlock on the site, and wait 720 hours before they allow bootloader unlock (roughly a month).
How do I know all this? I started my wait just last night, since I just got my phone last night.

In redmi note 7 i solved this with going to mi account un phone, security of account and adding a telephone number .
Yes, they've gotten much better about it. This was an issue for many at first, it's been resolved on Xiaomi end of allowing unlock.

I used miflash_unlock-en-4.5.813.51 from http://www.miui.com/unlock/
You need to wait 168h after the first unlock try as I show here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=83529229&postcount=43
I used google lens on your screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/2AWWd3d.png
Lmao im so impatient
How unlucky, thought i could do it already :C
I got my phone and tried unlocking today. I was told that the waiting time is two times the 168 hours (336 hours or two weeks) which seems to be the norm. Any ideas why?
Weird. Why mine only 7 days ?
How did you find out that you need to wait 7 days ? Where did you read it ? I am asking because everything what show me that software for Windows is only Chinese characters . I use the latest software from the official site and I can confirm that is the same like in the link on second post .
If I receive the Chinese characters it's ok ? Do I need to wait ? Or is something wrong and I need to do something?

I think I've gotten this error message before. It has something to do with your account not being connected for unlocking properly. Make sure :
1. You have find my device on
2. When requesting BL unlock ( from dev options) that your inserted sim card is the same as the one listed in your Mi account
3. Your PC connection is stable
You can also try to translate the Chinese (if you can copy it) :silly:
Hope I helped somehow
168 (7 days) is normal wait tim e for unlocking poco x3

After hours and hours of checking and trying different things like cables pc's and different sims cards , i managed to resolve the problem.
i had to log in on the xiaomi mi account and deleted my account and make again the same account so i can unlock my phone
this is if somone have the same problem like me , try another xiami account or delete your account (do backup) and then make it again
solved ,
Now do i need to wait 168 hours, 7 days , if i press again after 4 days ? they will reset the counter ? if i reset the phone ?
or is binded on the mi account is nothing to do with the phone itself?
i attached with the error with problem account and after i done the account again with them

Congrats on solving the problem. When i bought my phone, I reset it a couple of times because of software issues and the counter didn't reset. Only thing to watch out for is that you don't take out the sim you used to activate your Mi account with for more than a couple hours.

Download Google translate and press camera and point it to that Chinese writing and you will find out what is the problem . In my case how you can see the print screen the translate saying that find my phone it was activated and I cannot unlock the bootloader with this account. So I deleted the account and I sign up again . Same email same phone number . What I noticed when I log in on the mi unlock software for Windows I saw on the top right the account number has changed . I got different numbers (example 573638942)
After I done done the sign up again I was able to proceed to another step .
This happened to me because the account it was 6 years old and never use it . ( I think)

I got the same . From what I understand in this thread, we need to wait that time and then come back in the same app to get bootloader unlocked

Any chance the bootloader won't be unlockable?

I am buying a used Poco X3 or Poco X3 NFC. Are they all unlockable? If not, what should I do to confirm that the one I am buying can be? What problems can I run into? (Like maybe the previous owners MI account could be a problem?) Your thoughts or experiences welcome. Thanks in advance.

Yes, just make sure the previous owner remove their authorization from that device (remove all Mi and Google account, then remove all lock/pattern/pin).
Next time you will unlock it, do it with your own account.

Not logging out means that you shouldn't log out of your Mi account on your phone and you shouldn't change your Mi account in the Mi Unlock Tool

Cmiiw, once a time when I need to unlock 2 phones with 1 PC. Thus I should change the account of Mi Unlock Tool. And both phone could be unlocked accordingly.
From my POV, don't log out means logout mi account in the phone only. But if you could keep the logon of mi unlock tool, that wpuld be better

Thanks, I was worried it might reset the timer or ruin the unlock process.
I tried just now, and now it says to wait 116 hours. So it looks like an automatic timer countdown.
