LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 12, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
Instructions:
Follow the instructions on the wiki page for your device https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/#samsung
Only the provided lineage recovery will be supported, using TWRP might result in a possible data loss!
Note: You may use Odin instead of Heimdall, for this you will need to rename the recovery image to recovery.img and pack it into a tar archive.

You can do it without wipe, here's an example for d2s: https://lineage.linux4.de/fw_update/d2s.html
Just follow these instructions (select right device ofc) and after it flashed boot recovery and continue with installing 19.1.

Thank's for your reply.!
So to be clear the steps to firmware update without flashing full Samsung firmware are:
Put the phone in Download mode
Heimdall flash the firmware files
Heimdall flash LineageOs 19.1 recovery
Boot directly into lineage recovery
Adb sideload LineageOs 19.1 zip file
Can I skip Format data in lineage recovery after Heimdall flash the firmware files considering I'm coming from LineageOs 18.1 .?
My current bootloader is ver 7 so the new one will be ver 7 also..?
Hello,
I follow the instructions for a first installation to my Note10+ d2s
I have an error21 at the last step during sideload I get "failed to verify the whole-file signature"
I have check twice the .zip file.
Anyone has an idea ? Thanks
I probably made my case worse, I tried to install the firmware for lineageos 19.1 (d2s: https://lineage.linux4.de/fw_update/d2s.html)
And now, I have this "kernel rev. check fail. device::8, binary:7"
It sounds bad...
Just tried to reflash the previous recovery (lineage-19.1-20220524-recovery-d2s.img) but I can't access, just a bootloop with the kernel message...
Hi! Does this default kernel have the TTL module for iptables? (And if not, maybe it would be a good idea to add it?)
Actually, running iodeOS but it seems like it is based on this LOS sources...
Why twrp does not work and causes bootloop?
Thx for your Work Linux4
Hello. I want to switch from dr.ketan's rom to lineageOs. What should I do. Is it okay if I flash directly from twrp?
does it have themes? customisable? except color tones and so on...any custom theming? like you have in samsung store

Legal questions about the state of this project:
rcstar6696, the original developer of this ROM have abandoned it for a while after the build 20200106 , and I (S-trace) built a new build of this ROM, and then I fixed an issue with WLAN Tethering offload on encrypted devices (rcstar6696 don't support the device encryption, but don't forbid the encryption completely), and then I got the invite from rcstar6696 to the xiaomi-sdm660 team to maintain the LineageOS for the clover (rcstar6696 supports several Xiaomi SDM660 devices, not only clover). Then I got the piracy attack from LR-user but rcstar6696 responded to this attack and confirmed me as the new LineageOS maintainer for clover because he simply not have the time to maintain 3 ROMs and transferred this project to me.
I'm too don't have much time to develop the LineageOS for clover, so I just merge the cr-8.0 branch to lineage-17.1 branch and build the ROM, install it to my clover tablet (LTE-4GB-8" model) and quickly test it, and (if no problems were detected) upload it and post it here and release the ROM as an OTA update. So, please also thank rcstar6696 for this ROM, because I don't develop it very much but just maintain it using rcstar6696 original development for cr-8.0 ROM.
Changes (full changelog):
May Security Patch
Switched to cr-8.0-eas common vendor tree

done its 3.3.1
It looks really good.
I installed it dirty over LineageOS 16 on my MiPad 4 Plus LTE.
No FCs, youtube working, sound working, wlan and lte working.
Animations were a bit laggy in playstore when i started updating apps.
Now installing magisk - not booting yet.
Is there an option for rounded corners? Can't find it anywhere...

Reflashed it clean: everything important works but i can't use riru_edxposed. It stays at the MI-Bootlogo for so long, i didn't want to wait anymore.
Is this fully stable?
great work!
Hello,
the rom works perfectly and pretty stable so far.
Thanks for your time and work!
I just can't get Google Photos to sync, but I assume it's a gapps issue. Everything else is running fine.
Would you mind adding ethernet usb drivers to the kernel?
The device recognises the USB-to-ethernet adapter and shows a dummy0 interface instead of eth0 when running ifconfig.
There was ethernet support on the February Lineageos 16 build found on 4pda.
I'd be really happy to have that feature, but I'm already thankful for being able to run Android 10.
Hello!
Is it an official build?
Finally thanks @rcstar6696 will flash asap
EDIT: Had initially shutdown after Mi logo. Not sure if that was becuase I flashed Magisk 19.3 or because I didn't flashed disable_dm-verity_forceencrypt_10.20.2019
anyway, after flashing magisk v20.0 and disable_dm-verity_forceencrypt_10.20.2019 now it's all good
even magnetic cover works, close and open

I'm currently on MIUI v11.0.3.0 (Android 9) Global stock rom.
I have unlocked the bootloader and installed twrp recovery and magisk. So do I just place the rom zip into my internal storage and flash it via twrp? or there are any prior steps before installation?
Also in the instruction, it says to wipe internal storage as well. Can someone explain why?
This is my first time flashing a MIUI device

I guess that you will need to update to android 10 in prior as it will definitly be based on android 10 vendor.. Or atleast you should flash android 10 firmware (dont have a link at the moment). By wiping internal storage he means format data option in TWRP. This will delete all your data on your phone. The only reason behind this as far as i know is because the storage is encrypted by the MIUI and this new OS would not be able to decrypt it.

Hello,
Using the 0610 build and it's great. Apart from FP in apps not working. How can I update to newer build?
Best regards
Thanks for your hard work, wish oneday we'll have Android 11 with Xperia UI :">
Once again, thank you
how can i update build? Just install new bild from recovery? Or install with factory\hard reset?
Does anybody else experience the phone getting stuck booting (NO boot loop, simply endless boot) after updating? Guess I have to flash again via recovery...
I flashed Lineage 18.1 then did OTA update to the latest version but found I couldn't use dialer and System UI not responding, I put this down to doing a dirty install of gapps after the OTA.So re-flashed with latest version of Sony's firmware 53.1.A.3.105-R7C with Newflasher but the problem is still there. I don't want to use Emma to flash as 53.1.A.2.2. 1318-2805 R3C is the latest version available [going down a version bricked my XA2]
As the bootloader is unlocked I can't use PC companion.
Any ideas appreciated
With the latest TWRP ( 3.5.2_9-0 ) I can't make a backup, it immediately says "Unable to mount storage" -- which is ... A total lie ? Haha.
I mean, it can mount everything perfectly. I can access anything I want from TWRP's file manager, data et al. I can use it to flash as well. It just refuses to make a backup.
Is this a known issue with TWRP / 18.1 for this device ?
Any tip as to how to fix it or make it work ?
Edit : HAHAHA, lord I'm DUMB. I had usb OTG selected as storage and nothing attached to USB. Of course it could not mount. Ignore this.
Xperia i4213 problems with sound after flash. No touch sounds. No sound in youtube. The sound appears for 15 seconds after clicking on the flashlight icon. please help fix

To update to newer builds of LineageOS 19.1, follow these steps (assuming you're already on LineageOS 19.1 or updating from LineageOS 19.0):
Reboot to recovery.
Write down which slot you are currently on somewhere. You will need it in case the update does not boot correctly.
Go to Apply Update > Apply from ADB, and use "adb sideload" to flash the newer build of LineageOS.
If you installed Gapps or Magisk or any type of addon previously, go to Advanced > Reboot to recovery. Otherwise, select "Reboot system now".
Go to Apply Update > Apply from ADB, and flash your modules the same way you flashed LineageOS.
When you are done, select "Reboot system now".
If an update does not boot, follow these steps:
Reboot to bootloader. This can be done with "adb reboot bootloader".
From there, use "fastboot --set-active=<slot>", replacing <slot> with the slot you were on previously.
Reboot to system. You can just select "START" with the volume buttons and confirm by pressing the Power button.
Greetings, this build work very well, dev in future you can add advanced reboot?

Was gonna wait till second build. I'm gonna flash now tonight.
Does this have the issue on the T-Mobile model where it will show two sim slots, both empty? Or is that problem specific to OOS 12?
Thanks!
Just a curiosity, in launcher settings, it does not put the Google feed, to the left of the display, it does not exist.
Should this be installed ontop of the latest OOS11 or OOS12 image?

OOS 11
Out of curiosity, what is the reason you need to be on OxygenOS 11 for this to be installed? Has something changed internally that conflicts with installing this ROM?
Just got a strange behaviour of brightness becoming mad

Its based on the proprietary blobs from the latest OOS11 release.
This means that while its possible for it to be installed ontop of any other OOS release, there may exist bugs/incompatibility issues when you use something other than what the lineage build is based on.
hi everybody. I found an error. the sound in the speaker is wheezing at maximum volume, is there any solution?
Hi, how about camera? Is this OS support every feature and capabilities of hardware? Thanks

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 13, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
DO NOT Report bugs if you're using TWRP
DO NOT Report bugs while having Magisk installed (especially with Zygisk enabled)
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

Your device will reboot, you may now unplug the USB cable from your device.

Run through Android Setup skipping everything you can, then connect the device to a Wi-Fi network.

Installing LineageOS for the first time
Flash lineage recovery
Only the provided lineage recovery will be supported,
using TWRP might result in a possible data loss!!
If using Odin rename the lineage recovery image for your model to recovery.img and add it to a .tar archive using e.g 7zip.
If using Heimdall use: heimdall flash --RECOVERY recovery.img --no-reboot
Boot lineage recovery
IMPORTANT: Do not boot into system again before booting recovery, or system will restore stock recovery!
If using Odin untick auto-reboot before flashing.
After flashing reboot by pressing Volume Down and Power for approximately 7 seconds,
immediately hold Volume Up and Power to boot recovery
IMPORTANT: As of OneUI 3 your device needs to be connected to a PC via USB cable in order to be able to
boot recovery via Volume Up, Bixby and Power.
Factory reset using Factory reset -> Format data/factory reset
Warning: Unlike TWRP this will also erase internal storage!
Sideload LineageOS by enabling sideload via Apply Update -> Apply from ADB
Then run adb sideload <path to your lineage.zip> on your PC
Optional:
Sideload GApps and magisk by repeating above step
with their zip/apk
Magisk
As this ROM has a working ramdisk sideloading the magisk apk is enough, just as it is
on every other device, no bootimage with magisk included or installing to recovery is needed!
I also strongly recommend to use Lygisk instead,
which is a fork of Magisk that aims to improve support for devices with FBE that can't (and shouldn't anyways!) decrypt userdata in recovery,
this will also fix OTAs getting stuck while having installed Magisk.
Features
SELinux enforcing
AES-256-XTS FBE encryption
All cameras are working
Ramdisk is working
Known issues
VoLTE/VoWiFi

I'm a Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ plus owner and happy with phone but want to get out of the Google ecosphere in replacing it with a Linux competitive OS.
Is that even possible?
Can I use this with the Note10 5G (SM-N971N)?

Look up 'Andronix' in the Google Play Store. Andronix allows one to install Linux under your phone,...
Thanks for reply,
Would Andronix allow a replacement for the Google Android within Samsung or is this like running Linux on top of it? I'm looking for something to completely replace the Google Android without Gmail, G-Maps and so on if thats even possible?

Thank you so much for keeping our phone alive!!
Humble question: Will there (in the future) also be a version with signature spoofing for using MicroG?
Best regards, tempe
Updated with September securitypatch and more lineage features

Read more carefully. TWRP is not supported here at all.
