The preinstalled YouTube app is a very old version(that cannot be uninstalled) , which I am unable to update from the Play Store. Is there any way I can install the latest version without having to root the phone?

no.
You could try sideloading the apk. Download a youtube apk (better still get a friend to extract one from their device for you, can verify source) then run the file from your phones filemanager. If you havent done something like this before you will be asked to enable app unknkown sources (make SURE the apk is legit and virus free) . From there just follow the prompts. If that fails you will need root.

Already tried that. It says 'The app was not installed' at the end. Apparently I'll have to root it.
Got to apkmirror.com, download latest APK and install it directly to your phone. Also you can sideload using ADB.

If you're really anti-root, there are alterantive clients you could use.
Hello I´m on the latest firmware 45.0.A.7.90
is there a way to delete spotify without unlocking the bootloader ?
I tried many ADB commands but all ending with "Read-Only Error"...
When I´m using the "v1.6_Xperia_X_Debloat_By_Serajr_Combined" my phone restarts but the app is still there.
I want this because I can´t install a little bit different version of spotify
I got always "a package with the same asset folder name already exists"
Can anybody help me
Best wishes.
You need root to fully uninstall apps.
You can only disable/hide without root.

My debloat zip requires unlocked bl. With locked bl and stock fw you can try disabling unwanted packages with this guide.

So I got it. The full truth about the post is that I wanted to delete Spotify because I can't install the Spotify premium mod because the same package name is already installed. After hours with Android studio a found a very very easy way:
Just download the app " app cloner" from playstore and clone the mod apk. The app will change the package automatically and you can easily install the mod

Thanks you a lot, your tips was awesome
I'm interested in this. Would this: https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/ work?
I mean if you disabled it using the above method, could you install another app that uses the same package name in its place?
Thanks for the handy tip of the App Cloner.
If you want to update the Spotify Premium APK package, do you just overwrite it or is there a way to first remove the modded package and than use the app cloner again for the new version?
Thanks in advance!

You should root you device to uninsttal system apps, use xperifix of @sToRm// and you can do it with titanium backup or root uninstaller

Hi, I have the same problem. I don't want to root my xzp but I would like to install the modded apk of spotify.
I tried with adb shell to uninstall spotify package. I did it successfully but I still can't install the modded apk.
Gave a try with app cloner but I did not find the way to clone the apk with the free app... Could someone give me some help on this?
TX in advance
for those people who try to delete the bloatware via root and Titanium backup or etc: Be careful as it could happen that your phone could stuck in a bootloop. Some other folks had this experience (including me) and the workaround that someone found is to use ES File explorer to uninstall the apps.

You said you'd deleted Spotify that was onboard with the phone and you're trying to install another Spotify?
There might well be other files that go with the original onboard Spotify and you need to delete them as well, before you can get your new one to work.
Start with
pm list packages -d
Firstly look for anything Spotify.
Then work your way through the safe to remove list
The only solution for you Is to be used application Deezer
someone can change the package name of spotifymod.apk ? I don't know how do it
Btw, why do they use the commands like "pm uninstall -k --user 0" with the -k key ?
Why keep the "garbage" remaining from the removed package?
So I wanted to install a modded apk for a game and when I tried to install it it says app not installed, I found out that I needed to patch it with lucky patcher but even after I did the lucky patcher patch and tried to install the unsigned apk over the signed one it gave me the error again I am rooted and running stock android 7.0 any help would be much appreciated
Delete the original app first and it should install
Hello Everyone,
I have a question that might sound stupid , but here it is ,I have been porting some apps to my xiaomi phone(k20 pro) from other phones normally, until I got to an app that uses GoogleAuthUtil, (To signin to google accounts) , which fails after resigning the app.
I ask here if there is someone who has a way to bypass this problem.
Replaced all the apk signature calls on the app to no avail, its seems GMS checks for the signature on its own (upon asking permission to get the accounts and throws an exception about unknown keys or certificate).
How does GMS know if this signature is allowed to access the accounts on the device ? and how to whitelist my signature for example....idk
P.S. I can do it easily bypass it via a magisk module, I want to know if there is a way to do it directly on the apk so it won't need root or a magisk module to work.
For those interested ,I successfully bypassed the google "getAccounts" part , but it seems that nothing can be done once the application tries to connect to the firebase server , it needs the original signature to do so ,=> the xposed module is a must , either that or disable the Android-wide signature verification check and install unsigned apk (which I do not recommend nor use) , so xposed it is.
Hello
Code:
I am not responsible for anything. Try at your own risk I found it on internet. found useful thats why posting

Have you disabled signature verification from lucky patcher?
Also some modules like keys cafe have to be manually installed as system app to system/priv-app to work and can't be installed with SAI.
Don't work
