What advantages has this recovery over standard TWRP ?
Also, TWRP v3.6.2 for the S20 FE does not read external SD memory card, Orange Fox does it ?

It's just a reskin of twrp with some more features and better looks and no the SD card won't work on snapdragon

1st unlocked my bootloader then i flashed the vbmeta and it made format evrything and i did then it started normally then i booted to download mode again flashed the orangefox-R11.1_1-Beta-r8s.img.tar and it booted itself and I pressed the key combination as soon as it started and it just continued to boot and switched on normally and then it showed that
pdp
back-up: fail
Setup wizard [finish]
When I try power it off and try the key combination to reboot to recovery it just switches on normally and shows that PDP message.
Please help

You mention in the OP that this has Oreo kernel sources only and not Pie yet. Does this mean that I can't flash a Pie rom with it? Or does that mean something else?

The ROM kernel matters in that case, recovery kernel is irrelevant. Also Oreo kernel can boot pie without any modification.

hi @SebaUbuntu ,
great that this project exists! I'd definetly like to test this recovery for j4 core.
but am a bit confsd. there are some recoverys in the net, claiming to be for this device but are for j4, j4 plus, etc.
none of them worked for me when I tested. so I did some research & found out, that these devices have a different processor & ramdisk(size).
now I want to ask you, if it's really neccessary that they have the same processor & ramdisk(size) to be compatible for different devices as a recovery. I think yes, but maybe I'm wrong.
the second question I have is: do I need a twrp already installed before I can flash your recovery, or can I flash it right away? can I (try to) flash orange fox recovery through odin or through commandline? and where can I find a working twrp for this device -j4 core- ?
did you or somebody else already test the recovery & found it is working?

Yeah, recoveries are device-specific, you can't install a recovery for another phone on j4corelte, this is for j4corelte, already tested, and official
To install this you first need to flash TWRP by kapmino269, then flash this as a zip file
Or you can extract recovery.img, repack it in a tar file and flash it with Odin, but TWRP method is easier
hey, it works for me, too & it's awesome - the recovery of the future! keep up the good work & thank you so much! ?
may I link to it in my thread (have a thread for j4 core with root guide)?
/data is not mounted in recovery, same for internal storage. tried many times.
now I'm searching for a workaround to remove encryption without losing my files...
does aroma manager work with this device & could it possibly help? on older androids this often fixed problems when the /data or internal storage partitions were not mounting.
or is there a command to force mount /data & remove encryption? I've read smth like this on stackexchange. mh, not sure. will do some research tho.
will there be an update for orangefox for j4core?

Hi, i just updated my S21+ Exynos to android 12. It's rooted with magisk and just installed the last TWRP.
But I'm gettin 255 error when trying to backup data. I've been told that TWRP can't backup android 12 data, is that true? There is any workaround? And any hope for this to be fixed?

How can i know they aren't important? Is this Twrp unable to decrypt android 12 encryption true? And what if I get another error with another folder?

Again the same old question; Sorry !
How to correctly update to the next base without wiping the user data (Keeping Root and TWRP) ?

If your data encryption already disabled just run multidisabler without wipe.
If not need to start from scratch

Uninstall all magisk modules if have
Update firmare base with odin
Flash TWRP (including patched vbmeta) & Kernel (You can do this along with flashing stock firmware with USERDATA tab)
Straightway reboot to TWRP and run multidisabler from terminal
Reboot to system
Done!
IMPORTANT :
* You must not reboot device to system before running multidisabler.
* This is true only in case you already have TWRP+ Multidisabler ran on existing ROM. First time using TWRP with multidisabler, you must needs to format data.
* I strongly recommend to make backup of your data though. Sometimes changes in base itself may not allow you to dirty flash (Thanks Samsung).

You have to unlock bootloader(s908u I doubt) before you want to do this and most important backup your data. If you are new at this, I suggest you read some posts about root & twrp.

Really appreciate you guys for making my S22 Ultra experience better ~
Hopefully one day we can find a way to achieve r/w (read and write) permissions for /system partition to be able to do more stuff...
For now are there any alternatives to uninstall stock apps like Youtube as I want to override the Youtube app with Youtube Vanced but my Vanced is of a lower version.
Well, @afaneh92 I finally came back to Sammy. Of course, I have the S908U, which you stated cannot be unlocked. I just hope you can find a work around. I will indeed be following your progress both here and on your Telegram page. Here's wishing you all the luck. Cheers

hi, I wanted to apologize in advance that maybe a little off-topic. I wanted to install PixelOS, but I was stuck on unlocking the boot loader. My phone is realme C3 RMX2020 ver. A.77. And I can't install any "DeepTesting". Could someone recommend a current tutorial uploading TWRP, which works on A.77?
I had to rest a bit to understand how to install "DeepTesting". After unlocking the bootloader, it was easy to I did not think that Android 13 would be so propely on this phone For half a year I was struggling with the no longer supported Android 10 and I wanted to smash this phone against the wall, but instalation this rom extended his life
I wanted to ask something else, on the website pixelos.net I read
Updating to a newer build (dirty flash):
Update via OTA Updater, or
Wipe dalvik and cache (optional)
Flash ROM zip (sideload)
Reboot and voila!
Does this mean that this rom will get updates via OTA? Will I have to manually update it through recovery?
P.S.
At the moment I have noticed two bugs
- The second SIM card does not work
- When disconnected from bluetooth headphones, no sound appears on the phone (The problem with the lack of sound occurs when I turn off the headphones. When I hang up on phone, is all ok)

Thanks Good job
Fact, both SIM slots work, unfortunately if i have to configure it to work SIM this ROM does not detect it
I use an additional SIM card for the Internet, which needs to be configured. Phones in which you can manually turn on and off the SIM card in the settings recognize this card to me, on this ROM unfortunately not.
As for the fading of the sound after disconnecting from bluetooth headphones, the problem arises if the disconnection occurs from the headphone (Turning off the headphones / no power on the headphones). If I disconnect with the headphones on my phone, it's all ok
but thank you anyway for resurrecting and developing this two-year-old phone
GPS is not working (please fix it in next builds)
After installing this rom my phone suddenly turns of and then reboots to recovery mode automatically. If I try to reboot my phone from the custom recovery it again reboots into custom recovery. What is the problem?

Already did that. But it's still not fixed.
Things that don't work
- Dual sim not supported
- Only one Google Account can be added.
I don't know if this is a bug either. I can't set another wallpaper with the highest sharpness. It looks like a loss of image quality.
