Hey everyone,
I've just noticed that the double tap feature native to YouTube to skip to the next chapter isn't working on my S22 Ultra.
Could it be because of the screen's sensitivity? When ever I try to double tap the screen it is trying to go on full screen mode.
Have anyone else noticed this issue?
This small thing is very annoying, need a solution for this please.
- Rahil
Anyone facing the issue?
Attached the videos of my two different devices one from my OnePlus 6T and one from my S22 Ultra.
No one who is facing this issue??
Or no one knows about this YouTube feature?
The only option, in YT app, for double tap to seek that I can see is to chose time, in seconds, increments
Edit. Have to double tap on the right or left hand side of the screen to move back and forth the chapters
If you have chapters separated in a YouTube video, as shown in this screenshot, you can double tap with two fingers, and skip to the next chapter, instead of just skipping seconds.
I have literally posted videos from my two different phones too showing the feature in this question post.
I'm not sure if this is only limited to the premium version of YouTube.

Thanks for the edit.
I know that you have to double tap on the left and right sides of the screen to skip to the next chapter or go back to the beginning of the current chapter.
I've been ofcourse using it in my older phone.
But it isn't working on my S22 Ultra.
Is it working with yours, Raul?

If you don't mind, can you post a screen record of it please?
Every time I try to skip to next chapter the device or the is always thinking that I'm want to go full screen in that video and just flashes the corners of the video.
I have even tried to do double tap on an already full screen video but nothing happened.
Ok, I've noticed that the double tap gesture is working when the video is not playing in full screen mode.
But as I turn the screen across for full screen, it stops working, and behaves the same as said earlier.

Hello,
Is there a tweak or possibilty or tool to let the camera app record video without the camera app visible onscreen. The app must be visible onscreen or it stops recording :/
Let's say you want to do other things on your phone and record video in the meantime. Now every time I leave the camera application (without closing it) and let's say phone someone then the camera stops recording .
Thx in advance.
Anyone has an idea?
iteresting thing.. i dont found any else app.
Sorry i cant help..
I do have another question I've been meaning to ask tho...
Has any one else noticed this..
When you have camera app open ready to take a picture, if you press the black between buttons on the right hand side it makes a Grey dotted box flash around the picture, noticed it helps with the picture taking time, almost like a "hold button half way to prime a digital camera"
Am I tripping or am I right??
Just not heard of any one else ever mentioning this...
Can't help either

I think you mean the frame showing what is actually being captured on your picture (instead of the whole 'wide' view you have before taking the picture).

Sorry you've confused me..
When I open the camera app, it opens full screen with 3 icons,
Flash, shutter(take picture) and settings..
I presume every one else is the same (exept possibly cooked roms)..
When you press settings tab and all the settings are around the screen pop up..
Press the gap between the shutter button and the settings button(a dotted box will show clearly around the middle flashing for a couple of seconds)
Now take a picture, measure the time it takes from you pressing and the picture capture..
Now do the same as you normally would.. Press the shutter..
Just seems way faster with the flashy box going than without.
Can you tell me why?
friendly bump.
I am wondering what it does as well.
I'm sorry, it took me some time to figure it out.
I think this is described in the manual on page 240.
Particulary at the footnote:
'Note If you tap outside the effective focus area, a white box appears to indicate the area where you can use Touch Focus.'
Is this what you mean?
When I go into my gallery and click a video from the grid of photos and videos, it starts playing the video without the audio (even before I press play) and loops it as like an auto-generated preview of the video. Then, when I press play, it actually plays the video and audio together and shows the entirety of the clip.
How do I disable this? It's slow and glitchy and dumb. I want the clip to play when I click it, not just the video sans audio. And, to boot, it makes everything about 2-3 times slower to click and load due to a hitch/lag when you actually want it to play the clip.
I'm also experiencing a weird lag in the video player that I think might be a bug.
As I noted in the OP, when I open a video from the grid, it "previews" with white borders. If I click the play button in the center, my screen goes completely black for 1 second, then the video comes back, but this time with white borders, and then actually starts playing. So, I get like a 1.5-2 second lag between when I click the play button and when the video plays.
Does anyone else have this issue? I'm going to try turning video enhancer off and see what happens.

this stops the next video from playing. however, as EYC has mentioned - it's the looping of the video with the white bars that's the issue. my wife has the s7 and it doesn't display this behavior....

Does yours also temporarily go to a fully black screen when you hit the play button, causing the video to hitch between pressing play and it actually playing? That's what I find most irritating.

mine does exactly that. the fact that the video auto loops too drives me insane.
As a workaround to the stock gallery's wonky video player, I'm using Google Photos (which has its own built-in video player).
One of the cool things about Google Photos is you can access it directly from within the camera app. There's a setting called "Camera shortcut" within Photos, which overlays a shortcut thumbnail onto the camera. You can press and drag this thumbnail shortcut anywhere you want - you can even place it on top of the stock gallery thumbnail if you want. After you shoot a video or take a picture, the little thumbnail pops up and you can jump directly to Photos to watch the video or whatever.
Rather than use the work around suggested by Henrybravo, has anyone actually managed to find the toggle box to turn off auto play on the current selected video in Gallery? I have exactly the same issue as eyc and kdfdawg and it's driving me nuts!

Also waiting for a solution to turning off this retarded video thumbnail preview. I just want a static thumbnail. And I'm used to gallery, I don't want to switch to Google Photos.

This is not the issue! The problem is with Gallery, not Video Player. I've already turned off auto play next. I want to stop Gallery doing the silly silent looping video preview. There seems to be no setting to control this. I think it's a new "feature" in Gallery, and is really annoying. I have an S7 edge running Oreo.

Go into gallery app settings, go to "about gallery", where it says "version xxx.x.xxx.x" tap that seven times. Press back and there should then be "gallery labs" at the very bottom. Go in there, disable "video preview on picture list" close the app (make sure it's closed properly through "recent" then open gallery again and it should no longer show video previews!!
Samsung Gallery used to be good years ago.
Today it sucks. Try a 3rd party app like Gallery.
If anyone has a better freeware/ad free Gallery app,
please post it

Does anyone experience an issue on lowest 1/2 cm area of the display when using S-Pen? It's a hit and miss experience when drawing or clicking an interface. I confirmed it by testing S-Pen using *#0*# .
Please see video demo below.

Before testing, I switched nav keys to gestures.
Step 1) I have tried what you showed in the video and if I draw anything at the bottom, no issues, but if I draw your pattern, then I see the same thing as you do.
Step 2) After testing, I went back to nav gesture settings and there is a setting called "Block gestures with S-pen"(just search in settings) and after turning it on, the pen seems to work much better in the: Step 1
That looks like a defective unit, mine doesn't do that.
*#0*# is not user mode. Please try on user mode and see if same thing happen or not
I bought a new phone (iqoo 7) after 3 years. I am not sure if this is an android issue/feature or a phone specific issue. I can't help but notice that while playing videos on twitch, prime, youtube etc. the display doesn't use the entire screen space. A significant part of both the edges is blank and it really bothers me and is not a very good experience while watching a video. If i pinch out and zoom the video to fit to the screen then it because it is zoomed, some parts/edges of the video can't be seen. I am not up to date with mobiles however i used android 8.0 in my previous phone and was always able to use the full screen while watching videos.
Please refer to the attached screenshots.

It is the default behavior of displays using punch hole cameras.
To change this go to "Settings -> Display & brightness -> Top-area display".
Then change the apps you want to be full screen from "Automatic fitting" to "Display the front camera".
It should do the trick.

Hi guys,
It often happens to me that screens shuts off when I try to click on top tier of screen, it's really annoying especially with full screen apps.
I recently put on screen protector film but I don't know if it's due to this.
Anyone has this problem ?
Many thanks.
Are you rooted and using [MOD][Xposed+Magisk][Pre-Release] AOSP Mods - System modifications for AOSP-based Android 12+'s option to double-tap the status bar to sleep? If so, it might be related to that setting. I was trying to reproduce a different bug, playing a full-screen landscape YouTube video and I found almost every time I tried to make the status bar appear and then drag it down, I accidentally shut the screen off.
Luckily for me, I rarely try to do something like that while in a full-screen landscape app, so I'm keeping that setting on.
If you're not rooted or not using that Magisk Module, then ignore this.
I'm not.
It happens even whith WhatsApp when I select a message in a conversation and try to click on delete icon located in top screen, screen shuts off.
Where is the promixity sensor ?

I'm not really sure. I just unlocked my P7P and ran my finger across the status bar, back and forth and I never found it.

I have the same problem. TMobile Visual Voicemail has its delete button just below and to the right of the front camera and the screen turns off before I can delete the playing voicemail. I have to go back to the full list of voicemails and delete from there.
