Official MIUI7 on the MiPad - Developer ROM 5.10.15

Update: fastbooted the rom and my issues were resolved. Had to root with cwm.
The official release of MIUI7 on the MiPad was today. I flashed it.
to date issues I'm having:
The lockscreen doesn't want to open. I have to open by pulling down the status bar and selecting settings.
I can't get google play to recognize me. I've done everything suggested everywhere.. wiping data, cache, trying to update .apks, rebooting, blah, blah, blah...... won't work.
Can't get it to root...
I can't get the local backup to make a backup, but it did let me restore a backup I had made with an sMIUI rom.
One of the new features is locked apps won't show up in the recent apps screen. Well, not for me. I locked my email and tested it. Still shows up in recent apps. grrrr.
I did flash TWRP without issues.
so anyway, the music interface looks good. Too bad it's all in chinese....
I'm going back to cMiui7 5.8.10.

-i've only tested on cm13 snapshot 2 for the nexus 5
-im not responsable for any bricks..bootloop or anything can break your's android device

How is this different from manually Downloading Cortana Apk and installing it ? Is it more deeply integrated in the OS ?

yes,and it is an updated version..the apk from the store isn't updated and isn't integreted with the OS..if you install only the apk from the store you lose some feature like shutdown the phone via cortana or reboot the phone,make a call or answer a call

[Completed] Help Me to Uninstall This App - Developers Help Needed !

Hi , I was downloading some apk from a filesharing site and The site Pushed the Adult App Install on My device .
I use Zenfone 550KL , Now When i try to Uninstall the app , the Confirmation screen is completely covered with the app logo thumbnail without having the options to Uninstall the app ..
So , I don't have the Cancel/OK buttons on screen to Uninstall app ! I think its the developer who did this intentionally !

Clicking On Unistall Option Brings it :
The Image size has pushed down the Uninstall Option , and No Scroll is available !
I have an Idea :
Here is Official Apk : XoApp , Found It !
The Current App Version Is 2.1.4 , So it will allow upgraded version of same app to install . If somebody Edit the Apk and Change Version to 2.1.5 and Also remove the Large Image Which is Located in Res > Drawable Folder > splash_logo.png
Then I can Reinstall App , and Get Uninstall Options !
I dont want to Factory Reset my Device for this App Uninstall .....
Pls help me to uninstall app ...

How to stop auto download spam files

Each time I use Firefox to browse i can see two apk files gets downloaded.
File names are,
_q_.apk
x-videos.apk
This may be some apk to infect my device if installed.

Install firefox extension ExExceptions, you can block many content permission types per site there. I also found extension Public Fox, but blocking all downloads is rather that you don't want

To combat this issue, the best solution would be to disable the auto-update apps option in your settings. There is a chance spam files get downloaded when apps get updated. This disabling will ensure the apps do not get auto-updated. Also, you can install an add-on detector app which will alert you whenever an add-on gets automatically installed/downloaded on your phone. These add-ons have a high probability of being malware/spam. Whenever you get an alert from the add-on detector app, you can choose to either retain the add on or delete it.

Question Enable nearby share

I have a Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2021 (TB-J716F). Is there any way to enable nearby share? I have the chinese ROM with updated google play and google play services.
I tried looking at Settings > Google > Devices & Sharing but the Nearby Share option is not there.

So it seems that permissions for google play was denied by default. However, I cannot find a way to enable the permissions. Permission manager (built-in) keeps on crashing. Is there any way to enable this?

You should be able to add permissions with adb, something like this:
Bash:
adb shell pm grant com.name.app android.permission.PERMISSION_NAME

So I was able to allow all permissions for google play and play services framework via app ops. I tried restarting and the "allow" permissions are still there. However, I can't still enable nearby share.
Can anyone please check if nearby share is available on their devices?

yeah I can't find it either...

just install old files from October last year without support for nearby share on all your devices and it will use legacy WiFi direct share method
you can download the files APK from one of the APK download sites but ensure it's not something that comes bundled with other stuff
and never update Files on any of your devices ever disable auto update for this app from play store as well.
