Because they usually build and release new versions each day because they are always patching and optimizing the code or adding new features, they are typically called "nightly builds" or "nightlies". Once the nightly build passes testing phase it is released as a RC(respective candidate) build or Official ROM once they reach a certain critical point of development. Since it is a continous daily process of building, testing and releasing and since there is always a build in each stage of development each day, there is always a new tested nightly or RC build being released from the last stage of development almost daily.

Here at XDA, a lot of times, newer versions of android are available to the developers here before it is released to the public and the community here gets a taste of ROMs made from the new versions before everyone else in the world does. When this happens depends on when Google decides to release beta releases of the new versions. It is more a matter of what and when Google does things than it is a matter of when and what XDA does.

Will community continue to develop to this phone after cyanogenmod is done in 6 days? As some of you may know Cyanogen inc had lots of issues so they decided to shutdown the company after 7 years of work. Some of the official devs started to tease a cyanogenmod reborn, named Lineage OS. You can find them on twitter, facebook, google+ and their new site lineageos.org . The site is still wip but i hope that Lineage OS will be developed for this phone and i dont have to throw my phone off the window just cause i dont have the latest update
As the source code will still available and the team is willing to continue, I see no reason for stopping, as long as our device maintainers support this device. But it may slow down a bit for a while, it's been a major transition after all. And rest of the custom ROMs might get affected too. Better to stay tuned in every thread possible, ours is not so big

The question is will CyanogenMod continue to live now that they have lost all support from Cyanogen, including build servers, monetary, and technical support... CyanogenMod will be renamed to LineageOS... The biggest problem is all development on Moto G 2015 (and many other Moto devices) is based on CyanogenMod, and there is no other source at this time. How will that play out? We don't know yet...

CM's own blog is unreachable now, but XDA-Developers already summed it up and clarified some important bits:
All monetary and infrastructural support for CyanogenMod from Cyanogen Inc. will cease. -> CyanogenMod will no longer receive nightly builds after December 31st... unless the team finds another host to build nightlies.
The CyanogenMod team will not continue official development on the project.
CyanogenMod will rebrand as LineageOS.
Since it's clear that Cyngn is going in a new direction, Cyanogen OS will almost certainly have no future, since it's not community-driven in the first place. CyanogenMod, on the other hand, will live a bit longer, until Lineage dawns (or fails).

Wasn't Omnirom a fork of CM after the creation of Cyanogen Inc? As I recall all the developers were upset over going commercial and the future of cyanogenmod. Lineage OS would in essence be a fork of Cyanogenmod as well. I think it will really depend on whether they can find funding for some build infrastructure and how many developers jump on board.

The repositories are being mirrored (probably 'forked' is the correct term) into linageOS so I think we'll have a copy of our source code. And they said the source code for CM would still be available.

BTW, it isn't ending on Dec 31st like most people thought... it's ending prior to Dec 31st... They lost DNS and Jenkins yesterday, the blog is gone (so no reference to the official posts), official Cyanogen and CyanogenMod websites are down, and probably more that I haven't noticed mentioned yet are gone already.
But https://download.cyanogenmod.org is still live.
What would be the status of other custom roms that are based on cyanogenmod. Would they be affected ?

Of course...ALL ROMs for this device, except stock based ones, use the CM device tree and base code... Will LineageOS replace that? Right now it appears that way but time will tell.
To be honest, if CM/LineageOS doesn't make it... Probably 80℅ of all ROMs out there will disappear as we know them today, we really don't know the long-term effects this will have on the ROM community.
Some dumb questions:
1. LineageOS is the same team as CM?
2. There's a release date for the lineageOS and it will be compatible with moto g 2015?
3. To keep updated is better to wait or change to an AOSP based rom since AOSP will still be releasing?

2. We don't know yet, they do not have build servers at the moment
3. I would wait, there is little chance of getting a working AOSP device tree at this time, but we will just have to wait and see.
The point is, right now we don't know exactly how this is all going to play out... we need to have patience and just see what happens.

Who is officialy colaborating with the devs at lineageos? I want to know if we are going to get lineage os officially cause i saw a lot of phones popping up on their downloads site and ours not
I think sir Alberto97 and other developers is doing all that is necessary. Our device is officially supported. Check out cmxlog. It will take some time before a build is produced. So please have patience.
As far as I know, the last build for osprey failed (check the screenshot)
There are like 20+ with 10-11 only dedicated for osprey. Official rom will out by tomorrow but I don't accept it to be different from 'unofficial Lineage os rom' . Current job in process on Jenkins is #264 and build for our will at #302, each build takes like 25 mins so calculate accordingly.

Lol are you joking? Xiaomi have themselves released the kernel sources. How does that make it a security lapse when they themselves announced this during the phone launch?

It is rather a question from me, I know mi released the codes but question is can it be used by someone for hacking this phone. I guess it would be more easier for the hackers now.

POCO F1 is not the only phone with it's kernel source released. You will find kernel sources released for many phones by different brands (Sony, Samsung, LG, OnePlus and so many more). The purpose of releasing the source is to accommodate custom ROM and Kernel development by developer community (like XDA) and find out vulnerability (if any) in the process. Any vulnerability found is usually patched in updates. Yes the source can be used to compile a kernel or ROM with malicious code or an app which'd try to exploit the vulnerability but it will only affect those who'd install any such app/kernel/ROM. Now any flashaholic you'd meet will tell you how they'd only install apps from trusted sources and flash ROMs/Kernels available on XDA etc. In nutshell, I don't think trying to hack a phone using kernel source is worth it as it targets very limited people who are cautious enough on what to install on their phones making it more difficult to hack. Any developer can enlighten you more on the issue as I might be totally wrong on the issue too.
P.S. It's because of such source code releases that community like XDA is thriving.

All linux based kernels are open source
Also it is mandatory for OEMs to release kernel sources per GPL license rules.

All roms are build from aosp and other sources, this is not 2012 where ported roms exists here. What are you talking about? Also, the phone is launched with 8.1 so it officially supports treble out of the box. You high or what?
Btw: good to see early release of kernel source but on the other hand, the unlocking of bootloader showing me 30 days (720hours). How will I live for 30 days using MIUI?

Developers don't usually use open beta source code, usually they'll wait until final releases to start using the OP code.

So there's a couple of really good solid reasons to be utilizing OOS beta right now;
1) 802.11r /WiFi has been crap since the release of Android 10 OOS and it seems One Plus may have finally fixed the issue in Open Beta 17/18
2) Snapdragon vulnerability requires the August security update; patches to both kernel and rom base.
But here I am lurking around, checking out the development and all devs seem to be utilizing stable bases still from months ago.... so, are y'all just running exposed with un-patched vulnerabilities? Or are the some custome kernels/roms/tweaks that are embracing OOS Open Beta roms?
