Any custom Rom compatible with Keyboard Case EJ-CG930? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Hello,
I have bought the keyboard case EJ-CG930. It is perfect for me, because the Galaxy S7 is a small phone and with the physical keyboard I can write very fast. At the moment I have the stock Rom installed, but Samsung is not giving any updates. It is Android 8 imho.
Does anybody know if there are custom Roms out there, where the keyboard case will still work? Or am I wrong and all custom Roms, like Lineage OS will work with this keyboard case?
Best regards,
Hanz

Getting a Samsung Feel on 6.0.1

Hi All,
Does anyone know if there is a way to update the SM-P900 ROM but still keep full functionality for the S-Pen, and Samsung apps?
I'm on 5.0.2, have TWRP installed, and am rooted.
I tried a 6.0.1 CM ROM, but it loses a lot of the ability that the Samsung ROM has, as well as many people mentioning that it has issues with the S-Pen causing crashes.
Basically, I'd like to get the security updates, and 6.0.1 options, without losing the rest of the Note functionality, because it feels like CM removes the whole point of being on a Note Tablet, which for me is the S-Pen.
CM is fine and all, but it's always felt too AOSP for me, when used on devices like the Note series.
My Note 3 is on a Note 5 port, that allows basically everything to be modified without losing the important features, and I realize that might not be a realistic expectation on the 12.2 Pro, it seems like a waste of good hardware for the background OS not being updated yet still maintaining itself as a Note device.
Any thoughts on if this is possible, or is it simply a matter of the hardware lacking the ability to run 6.0.1 and the software lacking the compatibility?
Thank you!
This isn't likely what you want to hear. But Samsung's "feel" relies on its TouchWiz interface, which for our tablet is not available in Marshmallow. However, if you want a rooted tablet that's somewhat debloated yet still has TouchWiz, I'd recommend the excellent CivZ Lollipop. Perhaps you know of it already. If not...

Costumizing ROM for S7

Hi all,
I have got a few questions for a GALAXY S7 owners
I havent got time for customizing again everything from my LG G2 ROM, and I guess original ROM from S7 will be slower and slower with time, even on such a new phone like S7. So it would be great to have same ROM, I mean CM13.
1. Which ROM is the best for S7? Have we got stable CyanogenMod ? with working original camera and dual pixel feature ?
1.1 Is there any poll on the forum/ internet with votes which ROM is the best? That would be very good illustration what is the best choice.
2. exynos and snapdragon - which version should I buy here in UK?
3. Is ROOT a problem for a galaxy s7? I will need to root my phone definitely.
4. What should I consider when buying, the new one and used one ?
My LG G2 is really super fast with CM13 ROM + xposed and tweaks, but I am running out with space and there is no microsd slot + phone is plastic, galaxy has got dual pixel and f 1.7 lens which is much better.
I am still not sure if shold I update just because of this 3 points (space, plastic and camera).
Thanks for help:good:
anything ?
1,1.1 Head over to the development forum for roms. Usually the threads with most replies and views are an indication of which roms are most popular and that have good dev support. No CyanogenMod for this phone.
2,3. You can only get root with Exynos phones at this stage

What ROM for most AOSP/cyanogenmod experience?

Hello,
today I got a new Samsung Galaxy S7 (Exynos).
Since today I always had a Galaxy S2 with Cyanogenmod installed. I never ever used the original Samsung ROM.
Sadly there is no Cyanogenmod for Galaxy S7.
I am looking for a ROM with these features:
- as much AOSP/Cyanogenmod like as possible, I don't need touchwiz, I'm fine with e.g. NovaLauncher (*but I heard there are battery drain issues on S7??*)
- no preinstalled apps, no google play store, a really "clean" android (of course camera, sensors etc should work)
- possibility to encrypt device, root, xprivacy
- a nice dark theme
1) Is there a ROM that suits my needs?
2) Or should I take the newest official ROM and debloat it with the tutorials here on the board.
Thank you for your suggestions! There are so many ROMs here, it is hard to choose.

1: No. There are no AOSP/CM roms for the S7 due to lack of sources for the kernel. The best you can do is to run some "custom" touchwiz rom where most samsung apps (such as dialer, contacts, clock etc) have been removed and replaced with their google counterparts, but in the end of the day, it's still a touchwiz rom.
2: Since the last phone you owned was the S2, I suggest you give stock touchwiz a real chance, a lot has changed since the S2 stock days so who knows, you might get used to it. The Android 7.0 Beta rom is quite good looking and quite fast, not stock android fast but still pretty good. Give it a shot and see how you feel about it.

Options for a Samsung S6 ROM

Hi guys
I used to use Cyanogenmod. Recently I've been looking to put my Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-920F on Cyanogenmod 13.
I'm not totally set on Cyanogenmod but I would really like to try out some 3rd party ROMs. Anyone know any that are close to functional on android 6. I've been looking around and the versions I've found of cyanogenmod have a list of missing features. The other ROMs I've found are on Android 5.1.1.
I'm not concerned if theres a few things missing on the features list.
Any thoughts guys, what are you guys using.
I used to stick with the Cyanogenmod ROMs as well until I got my 920F.
I've played with a few of them, but I'm currently showing the CarHDRom some love along with the Twisted Kernel V10.
The Pixel ROM is also worth a look.
I'm no expert but I know what I like.
~Thanks for that. I'd seen carHD but th elink I found was on android 5.1 I'll take a look at all of them

Question New to Samsung (S22 Ultra)

Hello folks,
I'm getting my brand new S22 Ultra (Exynos) today evening and I wanted to discuss and have some advices.
It is my first samsung device , I've got HTC HD2, HTC one x , LG G4 , Xiaomi mi 9t pro ..; but never a samsung device.
I've heard good things about samsung and One UI so I made the step <3
What are the first things to do ?
What about custom roms , bootloader unlocking ... Are those relevant with samsung ? (I'm used to Mi 9t pro/K20 pro dev/community which is so far the best I've seen )
Thank you all.
Personally i use to use custom roms a few years ago, But i have found the past two devices i have had no need to install a custom rom and or Root the device (But this is personal preference)
Only you know if and why you use custom roms and rooting.
Not sure about what are the first things to do.... Turn it on..... sign into your account, use it as you would any other phone
Sarcasm aside i would advise downloading Good Lock and looking at the modules, some nice customisation you can do with the device, Even the keyboard itself
(I prefer Samsung Keyboard, its the only one that splits into two when in landscape automatically)
