Question Galaxy Watch 4 Interfering with Car BT - Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

Since the firmware update, my Galaxy Watch 4 is interfering with my cars BT.
Whey connected to both my car and watch, music will not play. Apps like Sirius XM and Samsung Music don't play correctly or at all. As soon as I disconnect my watch, everything works like normal.
Edit: It's working fine now. I have no idea what I did.

[Q] Can't skip/replay tracks from car stereo over bluetooth

Hey all, Just recently replaced my Galaxy S3 with the Z3. I love it so far except for one annoyance. The phone connects to the stock radio in my car over bluetooth (2010 Mazda3) and plays, except I can't skip or replay tracks as I want from the car stereo head unit. It will just play the songs from my library on the phone. I can however do it from the phone itself. The only control I have from the head/steering controls is volume. My old Galaxy S2 & S3 worked flawlessly in this respect, why am I having trouble with a brand new phone in 2015? Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks.

Very strange I use it daily with my aftermarket JVC car stereo and no problems: I can skip tracks from the radio.
Funny thing, discovered the same thing recently with my 2010 Toyota Auris. From what I've found this seems to happen whenever the car initiates music playback and not the Z3 itself. What helps is pressing pause and then play right in the Walkman app. After that the back and forward keys work just fine.
Another question though, does your bluetooth system show what song is playing? I only have a blank display on my radio...
Wow really, I have not noticed the car initiating the playback issue.
The skip tracks works fine from my Jeep, using the wheel control or on the head unit
Ok, I got it to work. I unpaired the phone from the car and re-paired them again and voila! I'm happy now, working like a charm. And no, the screen just shows 'BT Audio', as it did with the Galaxies, I'm not sure if there's something else I need to do with the BT settings but I really hadn't looked into it.
can't skip tracks with z3 through steering wheel anymore
I am having same problem. Switched from galaxy s4 to sony z3. Great phone but no longer can skip or replay songs. S4 skipped songs just fine. Now Just volume works on steering wheel. Unpaired phone and repaired and didn't work. Also tried pausing stopping everything. Any help would be appreciated.

Me too, tried all of the above suggestions and even disabling throw. I might try using throw specifically when I get a chance. Any help would be appreciated.

Major problem, Bluetooth music connection to car

Hi, has anyone run into this?
I'm used to play music from my phone to my car (Toyota Auris hybrid) over Bluetooth. Worked good with my LG G4 but with the Mate 9 it miserable fails. BT connects but it won't play anything.
There's loads of forum messages around since nougat came out, it seems to be an android 7.0 problem that seems to be solved in 7.11
Do you guys have successfully streamed in your cars over BT? Please let us know!

I'll test it when mine arrives as I use bluetooth also.
Some other info, it really seems to be widespread and only with cars. Will check if calling actually works, I was so busy with music I forgot to check.
Btw, I have a Pebble time steel and that now has a better and more stable BT connection across a longer distance than with the lg g4.
Update next day:
Car/phone BT connection is fine.
Audio suddenly worked after a few tries but no tags visible. Much in line with what others say. Really erratic behavior.
Same for my BT speaker, perfect connection.
Another update: It played audio only once. After some more digging on other forums it seems that Android 7 is the issue. A lot of cars won't play audio over BT anymore or just handle the stream only now and than. The connection is there, the song is playing on the phone, it streams to the car but there's no sound. Oddly when you receive a phone call there's no prob whatsoever.

My Nexus 6P on RRemix rom rooted with Marshmallow does this with 2017 Audi A4. Only thing that makes it come back is to hit the bluetooth icon in notification tray off and back on, and it syncs back up with sound. Try that? It might be a Huawei bug?
I had a similar issue on my mate 8. Spotify worked but deezer didn't in relation to showing what's playing etc.. it's likely to be nougat 7 as I've got a pixel xl and no issues with 7.1 at all over Bluetooth to my car. Looking at a mate 9 though as I miss the bigger screen

I have had issues with my S7 Edge where everything connects up and all seems normal but when it plays it either delays before sound works right out of car speakers or you have to do a dance of connecting and reconnecting before sounds works properly. Also think I recall similar glitching with my previous car and my previous android phone but maybe it was previous phone (Nexus 6P) and current car (2015 Nissan Murano Platinum). Only regularly ever play podcasts in car from Beyond Pod app, BTW. Occasionally play something off YouTube but don't recall it glitching.

I have a Japanese 2014 Mazda Demio, and my Chinese Mate 9 (MHA-AL00C00B109SP01) connected, played music no problem, over bluetooth. The artist/song name shows up. But it doesn't support browsing the song library like the iPhone or Galaxy S7 did.
I also have issues to connect my mate 9 to my car (Renault Laguna 3 from 2011). I simply do not succeed to connect the phone to the car: when I try to connect, my car gives me a 4 digits pin number to enter into my phone to establish the connection, I try to connect to my car from the mobile, the box to enter the 4 digits opens and closes before I have the time to enter the digits with a connection error message.
I suspect a software bug on the bt connection with pin validation on the mate side. I can connect without issue to a standard Bluetooth speaker.
I think some cars, maybe many, just have suck computer systems. It is why I always laugh at the idea of self driving cars - like these same morons that make these terrible in car computer systems will be worth trusting to drive you around.

I also have issue on Bluetooth with my Renault Megane 2009
I had to choose nomade device to pair my mate and I have some problem on mp3 play-back that suddenly stop where has it continue on music player.
It seems to be better since I install A2DP switcher from playstore but don't know why
So I have had this issue since I got the phone yesterday and just got it working in my 2012 Toyota Tundra.
Settings > Apps > hit the 3 dots > Show system processes > Bluetooth Share > Force stop, clear data. After that try pairing your device, mine has stayed connect with frequent breaks for 5 hours today
No issues with 2 of my vehicles.
I'm having no issues at all. I'm connecting to a Tune2Air bluetooth adapter ('11 A4 doesn't support Bluetooth streaming).
same issue with Pioneer Android Auto unit.
Sometimes it works out of the box, sometimes music plays (as per screen indicators) but no music, sometimes music plays for split second and stops.
disabling/enabling BT helps
no issues when phone is connected over usb with android auto
Same thing with me as well. I have reached out to Huawei but no response. I have a US version
Just got a new Huawei Mate 9 from Optus Australia. It would not connect to my car bluetooth although it would connect to two bluetooth speakers I have. Optus technical support finally resolved the issue by changing the car bluetooth PIN from 1111 to 0000. Looks like a Huawei bug in that it can only connect to devices without a PIN or with a PIN of 0000. Checked my speakers and one has no PIN and the other has 0000 as the PIN. Hopefully Huawei will fix this.
I have a recent Japanese Mazda, as well as a gear s3 or a Huawei watch connected at the same time, and no issues with Bluetooth at all with any recent Huawei firmwares.
My Fabia plays over BT just fine, Android Auto plays it fine too.

I previously reported no issues, but now BT is very problematic. For me, it seems, the issue stems from multiple connections. Before I needed two bluetooth connections in my car: one to the car itself for phone calls, and one to a BT adapter to stream music to the car's audio system. A couple months ago, I added a Huawei watch to the mix, and things went south. Typically I'll put my watch on in the morning and it will connect to the phone no problem. But when I get in my car, it doesn't want to connect: the car itself is not connected at all, the phone reports that it's connected to the BT streaming adapter, but no music plays through it. If I turn off BT on the phone and turn it back on, typically that will fix the streaming, but not the phone call connection. The phone will report that both the streaming adapter and the watch are connected, but not the car. If I click on the car connection, it will then connect. The watch connection in the list with then lose the "connected" status, but strangely, it stays connected.
So, I can't get three devices to say "connected" in the BT device list simultaneously, BUT if I turn BT off then back on when all three devices are available, THEN manually connect the car connection, all three will work, even though only two of them will say "connected".

Bluetooth Car Connection Spotify problem

Hi folks,
I got this new phone and I have a question regarding Bluetooth and Spotify. With my old smartphones(ZUK Z2 Pro or Samsung S7) connecting Spotify through Bluetooth, I can change songs/volumes on my car dash entertainment system. But with this smartphone I can not. Only thing shown is "Sony XZ Premium", which is the name of the device.
Do I need special configurations for this phone to get it work with the dash system?
Yours
I laso tested other apps like vlc etc. and none of them are controlable with the wheel controls or the car system. Seems to be a bug....
I don't have an issue with music control via my car to Deezer.
There is an general issue with bluetooth in Android 7.1.1 version. I have a problem with song information not being updated, however my car controls works, for most of the time. It seems like this problem is not present in newer cars/radios.
Yeah, I tried today also other apps like VLC/Deezer/Music app and all of them have this bug. I hope there is a fix soon. It is really annoying while driving that I can not change a song I don't want to listen to. I contaced also Sony Xperia Care, but they wanted to tell me it the car which is defective and not the smartphone...
sorry to go off on a tangent, but have you got deezer to work? I cannot for the life of me get deezer to work for me. Can you let me know what settings you are using, eg cache, etc... I have a support call open with deezer, even trying their beta but app just does not work - does not play anything...
Yeah I'm having this issue with Google Play music. Guessing it's a Bluetooth 5 codec.
Reported on Sony's forums as well,
Fingers crossed for a fix

I have the same problem, Spotify will not update the track information on what's playing. I hope there is a fix for it soon, kinda annoying. That and the wifi issues. Lucky I have unlimited data.
Mine just connected like normal. Seems like it sounds better than my last phone also. I did have a problem where it kinda froze the Bluetooth on my receiver and had to restart that. My receiver is pretty old though. Spotify working fine with it but with your same issue
Same issue with a mini cooper s 2017. I'm able to connect to the car for phone calls and contact sharing but unable to play any music via bluetooth. It seems that the phone shows as connected but the car just says as connecting. I really hope this issue is fixed soon.

Well Minis are technically BMWs so I guess the bluetooth interface is the same.
I managed to stream audio to my friend's Chevy Cruize but without the streering wheel controls (skip, vol up/down).=
Try pairing again and update your iDrive system (ask your dealership for more info about that)

Spoke to Sony who refuse to believe their device is a fault.. No plans to release any software tweaks till Android P apparently.

After messing around with settings and bluetooth I was able to achieve a connection to media audio. If you have Google Play Music installed, that is part of the bluetooth culprit.
1. Force stop Google Play Music under app settings.
2. Turn off bluetooth.
3. Toggle bluetooth back on, and under BMW/Mini go to the media menu and select your phone, after a few seconds you should be able to achieve a bluetooth media connection and you can run Google Play Music again.
I'm not sure if this can fix the spotify issue, but I was able to get my Google Play Music to work via bluetooth on my Mini, it is kind of annoying having to do all those steps anytime I get off the car, but then again, my drives are usually pretty long so I don't mind doing it at least a couple times a day.
Let me know if that worked for you.

bluetooth audio not working with my car

Hello,
After the Oreo I had issues with my bluetooth syncing properly to my car. I drive a 2017 Corolla iM and never had issues with my music bt audio syncing before. My phone calls with my b.t works just fine . But music apps like Spotify / Google music doesn't work. I found a workaround using my aha radio app that came with the car and played my music with b.t through there just fine. So I know it's not the music apps problem . My girlfriend iPhone 7 bluetooth with Spotify works just fine, and it syncs into my car. But I don't know why mine stopped working.
Thanks,
N9900229
You're not alone. I too am having the problem. I hope Google fixes this soon. If not, sad to say I am probably never buying another Pixel because this is ridiculous.

Hey, I found a workaround. Basically using my old nexus 7 tablet with Spotify and my pixel with hotspot for my tablet and then listening onto the n7 device. both bluetooth are turned on with n7 for music and my pixel for phone in my car options. You can use any other devices as long as it's not Oreo.
Would flashing a custom ROM fix this?
It's very annoying. My Volkswagen Golf (with RNS 510 Version S) will connect automatically with calls, but to get bluetooth audio streaming working, I have to manually disable bluetooth and then reenable before it will be seen by the car.
Prior to 8.0 this worked automatically.
At the moment, I have A Sena 20S for my motorcycle and an Plantronics headset, and if I activate Google with either one, using the buttons or just hitting the google MIC button, no audio is heard by the phone over the Mic.
really causes and issue for me. Any idea if there is a fix, I also made sure that Bluetooth Headset is set to on. No go. Frustrating, I ahve 30 days, if this is not fixed, i will need to send it back ..
IM sure its just a patch, but when?

Control music app (spotify) with Samsung gear S3 and Nokia 8

Hi guys,
I've been searching all over internet a solution to my problem with my Gear S3 frontier and my Nokia 8.
They are paired. I receive all the notifications, calls... Only one thing bother me, it's that I can't control spotify with my watch.
Everytime spotify is launched on my phone , I can see on my watch that my phone is playing something. Even more, I can see the cover of the song on the music app on the watch. Problem is, if I want to skip or pause the music, It's wrritten "please connect to the phone " but they already are connected. It's the same problem with spotify app for the watch.
I've tried factory reset on the Gear S3, I've uninstalled all samsung apps (samsung wearable, gear S plugin...) still the same.
My friend has an S3 classic with a mate 20 pro and it works fine. Plus, when I connect my watch to his phone, I can control spotify !
I pretty sure that it comes from my phone. Do you have any ideas to fix that ?
Thank you very much for your help !

Thx Igorrj, the Spotify app is not available anymore on the galaxy market...weird
Anyone ?
Same problem
I have nokia 7 plus android 9
I cannot controller music from watch
Hi Swat,
With the new Spotify app you can control music with your watch.
Buy only Spotify if you have another music app such as VLC it won't work !
Double up
Same here, Gear S3 with Nokia 8.
Nokia seems to be messing around with bluetooth since Pie. Had issues connecting the two devices for the first time.
Issues with media control (as described above) and issues with re-connecting after bluetooth out of range.
Has anyone solved the problem?
