Hey!
I finally want to give Bixby a try since we are waiting forever for the Google Assistant release.
But when i say "Hey Bixby, Set a appointment" it tells me it can only do that on a Samsung Phone.
You guys know any tricks or workarounds to get it to work? i tried installing the Samsung calendar app on my phone, but that doesn't work.(app keeps crashing)
I myself use the Google Calendar on my phone for all my appointments and shared calendars between me and my wife.
Would be nice if someone could help me out here or finds a solution
Thanks !

You can try changing the model and manufacturer in the build prop.

Hello Everyone!
So today I went online to the google play store to download an app, and noticed there was a random device (Samsung GT-I9300) showing up in the drop down menu. I went to device manager and it says it was registered 4 days ago with T-Mobile. There are a number of issues with this:
1) I'm on Telus
2) I don't own a Samsung GT-I9300.. I only own an htc one and nexus 7.
Both my htc one and nexus 7 show up in the list just fine, but there is still this random phone connected to my account. Should I be concerned? And if so, what should I do? Is there a way to remove it, not just hide it?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Did you edit your build.prop to try and change which device the Play Store thinks you have?

Then unless you've given access to someone knowingly, it would be a good idea to change your password.
I suppose you can contact Google after doing that and ask for more information.

This recently happened to me and freaked me out too. Until I did a bit of research and backtracked my timeline a bit. Turns out it was Bluestacks on windows. So if you recently installed and logged into your google account on the bluestacks player, this is the device that will be added.
I hope that helps any other future googlers

Brilliant!! That was exactly my issue, and I was freaking out for a second. HAHA! Thank you!
I already searched on here, and someone asked this before but got no reply.
I want to uninstall Gmail 4.7.1 from my Kyocera Rise that's running ICS, and install the older Gmail 2.3.4.1 on it. Has anyone else done this before? Any idea if it'll work?
I want to do this because 2.3.4.1 is what my old phone (was running Gingerbread) had on it. I don't like the newer Gmail app, IMO they made it harder to read and navigate. I find myself using my old phone just to check my email, because its less annoying. It'd be awesome if the older app were to work on here.

Welcome to Xda, you will see that this happens allot here and i wish everyone could get the help they deserve but most of the time they don't as for your problem, you could google Gmail 2.3.4.1 apk and might be able to find someone who mirrored that like you can try here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1181033 download that file from your phone or computer and find it and install it. it might not work because google sorta wants us to use newer versions of their apps but if it does you need to turn off the auto update so it wont. good luck and welcome to XDA!

Hello, thanks. I've been a lurker on here for a while, but I have no experience asking my own questions here.
Yup, I did that, I downloaded an .apk of 2.3.4.1. I was asking on here to try and find out if attempting this would even work.... in my research I can't find anything on whether something like this for Gingerbread will work correctly in ICS. It looks like I have to root to even remove Gmail 4.7.1 so that's why I was asking before getting into this.

The reason why you can't completely uninstall it is because it's a system app. So yes you would have to root to remove it

That should be easy to find with a google search if you search for the features your update came with.
I DO NOT PROVIDE HELP IN PM, KEEP IT IN THE THREADS FOR EVERYONE TO SHARE
Has anyone had any luck with Evernote on the S3?
Never tried it here hmmm good question
Yes, there's an unofficial app you can use. I use it at work and it does the job well.
https://sites.google.com/site/gearapplications/enotegear
You install GearHub from the play store to your phone, and use it to install ENoteGear to your phone, and login to Evernote.
Then search ENoteGear on Galaxy App Store on your phone and this installs the app to your watch.

ENoteGear works great.
I have a problem with loading my notes. After i start the ENoteGear on my Gear S3, the screen is stuck either at synchronization or waiting content...
Lot of Times only thing that helps is restarting the watch multiple Times.
Did this problem occured to you aswell? Did you figure a walkaround About this?

Same for me. Old versions for Gear 1&2&S worked fine but the new version for Gear S2/S3 work very very....bad and stuck major time at launch. It can works better if you take your phone and open GearHub while you launch the Gear App...... so .... almost unusable I deleted this app from my Gear
It seems when you delete a note on the web or pc app, then open up the gear app and it tries to sync, the app get stuck syncing. I've discussed briefly this issue with the developer on Twitter, but no resolution yet. It makes the app unusable.
I shall point the developer to this thread, to see if they can pop in and help.

That would be wonderfull I would really appreciate this, because i use the Evernote quite a lot at work, and it comes handy to have it on your wrists. I wouldnt even mind paying a little bit more then it costs now, just so it works (
Have someone find out a way how to get Google Assistant working on the Watch4? I've seen someone on Reddit got it to work but he doesn't share how he did it, plus I'm curious to know if it's possible to set it as the default assistant on the watch instead of Bixby

From what I've read it won't be available out of the box that we have to wait for some kind of update which is irritating if true

That's true, but I believe that someone will find a way around it before the "official" release/update, in fact someone on Reddit managed to do so
часы пришли, гугл помощник нет
the clock has arrived, there is no assistant
Yeah watch arrived today .... no GA
I miss it as well.

id like to know why he hard cuts everytime to when he starts asking the questions and never shows you the app launching. Doesnt the speed of that matter as well?
Not sure what to make of this - my initial take is that it's just FUD, as Samsung has already publicly committed to GA, but for what it's worth:

Those stupid google forum helpers are about as useful as people are in amazon answers or yahoo answers. "i dont know i didnt get it yet"
I asked a question about filtering out emails in gmail that you literally could not filter because the things in the email were not options you could choose and i explained as such in full detail and one of those morons just responded with something like yea just make a filter for it.
so yea, those guys dont know ****

True, that has been my experience as well - they are utterly useless. I do hope though that the addition of Google Assistant doesn't become the fiasco that the addition of BP/ECG and/or Samsung Pay is - it really seems like Samsung doesn't give a flying duck, sometimes...
