How do enable and activate "floating windows"

Hi guys, I Dont know how to activate "floating windows" on my device. I

I got a pop up message "enable and activate display floating window". I've searched the device setting but I can't find/dont know how to activate the floating window. Can anyone tell me how to activate that thing? By the way I'm on android 6 (marshmallow) by fire588.
Thanks in advance.

I think you need to enable the " draw over other apps" under app permissions in settings

Thanks for the response. But I can't find " draw over other apps" under app permission under settings. All I can find under the app permission is toggle for camera, phone, location, storage etc. I found "multi window mode" in the developers option and I enabled it but that didn't solve my problem either. Tried googling, but got no solution. Some said that "display floating window" has been dropped by google in android 6 due to security reasons. Is that true?
Edit: Thanks. Solved my problems. Many thanks.
Settings - notifications - manage notifications - select desired app and turn on floating window
There is a multi-window option under developer settings. Just saying. I know it is not the same as floating windows.

Motorola Moto Maxx - Screen overlay detected Issue

Hello Guys,
In my moto maxx turbo, android version 6.0.1. Yesterday got the security update. Once system updated, now am facing the screen overlay detected issue. Due to this, unable to save the photo from facebook mobile app. Followed the below steps, still facing the issue. Help me out guys ! Thanks in advance.
1.Open Settings by clicking on the gear icon in notification bar.
2.Scroll down, you’ll find the “Apps” option. Click on that.screen overlay detected step 1
3.Now click on the gear button on top right, as given in this image.screen overlay detected step 2
4.In this screen. you’ll find “Draw over other apps”, click on that.screen overlay detected step 3
5.You can alternatively find this option by searching the “Settings” menu for “Draw”. You can just click on the magnification glass icon on the top right on the Settings menu for that.screen overlay detected step 4
6.Now, in the “Draw over other apps” screen, you can see the apps which are having the Screen overlay/Draw over other apps permission.screen overlay detected step 5
7.You can click on each app and uncheck “Permit drawing over other apps”.screen overlay detected step 6
8.Now, clear the app you were trying to run from “Recents screen” and open the app again, you’ll not see the “Screen Overlay Detected” again!
9.One more step is left, that is to reactivate the screen overlays that you’ve disabled before. Just go back to the “Draw over other apps” settings from recents and recheck all the apps you’ve disabled. Else, you won’t be able to use those apps
Do you have any kind of blue filter app or something? Any kind of app like that also causes the overlay problem.
The problem is malware will overlay your screen with a "transparent" layer to tapjack your approval or to steal banking account information. So, the overlay warning is to protect you, even if you don't see the screen overlay.
You have to disable anything causing the screen overlay -- whether malware or even legitimate apps.

(Guide) Hide Navigation Bar / Immersive Mode/ Transparent [root required]

Hello.
I asked myself why you can not hide the Navigation Bar from the factory.
I Have long researched and have come to this solution until an official version works. It works very well and I am quite satisfied.
On Playstore I discovered this app (All in One Gesture) by YS Liang.
What it can do;
【Supported Gestures
• Swipe from edges.
• Double tap on the status bar.
• Long press on the physical keys (for Android 4.3+). Works great on Android 7
• Mouse or stylus (S Pen) is supported.
【Supported Actions
• Home, Back, Recent Apps, Screen Off, Immersive Mode, etc.
• Launch of an application or a shortcut.
Step 1:
- Open All in One Gesture> Enable Swipe
- scroll down to Corners> aktivate Lower Left Area
Step 2:
- swipe from left to right, you will see Side Panel [Settings]
- go to Personalisation and open Edge Preference; and make your settings.
- (mine configuration is: Opacity 0% , Corner Size 15px, Edge Sensitivity 60px, Edge With 50%, Horizontal
Offset 0%, Vertical Offset 0%, Swipe Distance 40px).
- activate Behind Keyboard
- go back to Side Panel [Settings]
Step 3:
- swipe from left to right to see Side Panel
- click on Immersive Mode
- if you want to see the Status Bar, activate it
- Enable Blacklist and click on Manage Blacklist to exclude your desired apps from Immersive Mode
- Now activate the Immersive Mode in the upper right corner (for constantly usage )
or deactivate Blacklist/Immersive Mode (for using with a swipe down activation....)
you're Done, that's it. play with the settings and find your best solution!!)

Open the app and swipe from left to right side to see the Settings Panel...under Immersive Mode> Preference> Manage Blacklist
It only sucks that keyboard won't pop up when in immersive mode..

Do you have root? Check in Magisk Manager if root is granted for "All about Gesture". If not deinstall the app and install it from Play Store again, use link in post #1. Then check in Magisk Manager Settings, if "busybox" and "hide magisk" is marked on.... :highfive::good:

Ahhhhh that's why i haven't rooted.
For the first time i want to see how long i can go before it does my head in not having root
Thank you for explaining. Might want to add to first post that root is required for per app basis.
You don't need root to enable immersive mode: https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-enable-system-wide-immersive-mode-without-root/
Wait, the S8 has been rooted???

Yeah, but you don't even need root to do this on a per-app basis. Just providing an alternative, non-root solution here.
Using shell I typed in:
"adb shell pm grant com.phoenixstudios.aiogestures android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS" and the blacklist became visible. Also, my keyboard now works with this app.
Is there any ADB command or other non root option to increase auto-hide time when immersive mode is on?
Thanks ?
Alternative to this is go to your Edge settings (default by Samsung) and install the Edge Softkey and the order your Edge Softkey to be first.
Enable Immersive and swipe at the edge for navigation keys.

Accessibility icon

Hello, how can I disable the accessibility icon in the button bar ?
Maybe it's impossible
Same issue here. I had it activated for something to do with FFBE on my other phone and it carried over to my OnePlus. Unfortunately, there is no option to disable or enable it, they've seemingly only added "triple tap to zoom" and hidden the icon zoom.

Sorry to hear that...it's quite annoying for me because this button use the right place of the back button of my old OP3 !
I tried the navigation gestures ans it's no no no...
Cheers
Disable the android Accessibility suite. Search for it in your settings, disable the app and it should go away.

Reachability cursor alternative

After updating to android 10 reachability cursor stopped working are there any other alternatives?
Would like to know too.
I have started working on a "replacement" for personal use, perhaps someone else will find it useful. It's really barebones right now with no configuration options at all.
To get the app working, first you'll need to allow "Display over other apps" by going to: Settings -> Apps & notifications -> One Hand Cursor -> Advanced.
After that, enable the app's accessibility service by going to: Settings -> Accessibility -> One Hand Cursor service.
Once this is done, it should be possible to swipe from either the left or right lower edge of the screen to bring the tracker and cursor into the screen.
The source code can be found here.
It doesn't work very well with the new navigation gestures in Android 10.
A great app.

It works great!
I use it in addition to the Fluid Navigation Gestures app.
I just installed it on my onePlus 6t and allowed Accessibility and Display over other apps. When I open the app, it is stuck on the Home Screen, I suppose, it says "Hello World", a pink play button in the right bottom corner. Could anyone help, please!

You don't have to do anything else than enable display over apps and then accessibility and it just works.
From the sides you can swipe and point anywhere on the screen.
Opening the app is useless.

Do try and get it up on the Play Store. It's fantastic having a one handed cursor again. Thank you!
Ur a genius, using with ROG 2 (Android10-Gesture Nav)
This app made my life so much easier as I have a big phone, maybe some feedback for upgrades if ur open to hearing;
Make cursor able to do gestures like scroll through I web pages eg. (Swipe)
Also being able to access notifications menu would be good, as cursor disappears for me once it passed top area of screen.
& Maybe a colour change for trackpad thinking maybe white or grey sort of classic look.
My Workaround:
(I know it doesn't work the best with gestures Nav enabled but I think I can get the hang of it+back is to swipe L/R but when I use your app I only need tap bottom L/R of my screen to show trackpad) + (I added to my start-up menu on phone)
Many thanks for sharing :good:
I think you made a really good app man, congrats.

If you tap twice on the notifications bar, it expands notification and quick settings.

Sometimes you have to disable and enable these more than once to make it work.
I just released an alternative to that app, you can find it here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.quickcursor
Thanks!
