Hello, I have one problem with Xperia E3's battery indicator . Generally battery condition is not a problem and drain by whole night is about 1-2%, but sometimes through the day I can notice a 5-6% drain by a 1 h when it's in sleep. There's no apps in background and battery drain sometimes appears unexpectedly. It can drain a 1% throgh the night, but it can also drain 5-6% per hour still with no apps in the background. Also I've noticed that my battery sometimes is not full charged, e.g after whole night charging, in the morning I can see 97% or 96% and it's still plugged but not charging. What do you think, it's problem with battery or just software issue?
When I charge my android to 100% the battery discharge so weird, it discharges from 100% to 85% the 1% takes 8 min and when it reaches 85% to 75% the 1% takes only 2 min and from 75% to 0% the 1% takes 3 min, so I think the battery indicator is the problem because the battery is good and still new I'm pretty sure about that, so can you help me with this problem and how to fix it.
Thanks.
This is how the new smartphones work. They kind of display inaccurate battery gauge. There is a very detailed explanation on a thread here on XDA regarding this particular thing.
You can search it, "Your battery gauge is lying to you".
I am using the phone since 2.5 years. Recently I have updated to 6.0 and the screen time I am getting is hardly 2.5 hours. Earlier I used to get atleast 3.5 hours. But the doze works perfectly fine, hardly 2-3% battery drain over 6-7 hours overnight. But when I start using the phone it starts draining rapidly. Does this means the battery is fine and replacement is not required. Some app might be causing the battery drain?
If your battery is faulty then you note huge battery drain overnight and abnormal behaviours (e.g. from 80% to 20% in 10 minutes and back to 78% after a reboot).

Thanks. That means my battery seems fine only. Will try a fresh install again.
Strange observation, but one I noticed on my Pixel 2XL before as well. My 3a seems to drain faster down to say 88-89% from 100 than it does for the rest of the charge. I get about 40 minutes of SOT from the first 10-12%, which isn't great. But then overall I still average 7 hours of SOT over a full charge.
Anyone else noticed this?
Also, does adaptive battery reduce or increase battery? I've had it on since I got the phone, just turned it off to see if it makes any noticeable difference.

Yes I do... Remember the phone is just 3000mah ?

Yes, it does and gets better with time. It takes a month or more (depending on your number of apps) to learn how often you use your apps and limit apps you don't use often.
Run a battery benchmark that drains the battery and observe the battery percentage during the process. It should be linear.
If it's not, then the most logical explanation is that the battery is not properly calibrated.

And to calibrate - drain to 0%, then charge to 100%, drain to 0% again and then back up to 100%?

Yes i have same issue, but now I'm used to it i guess it is a similar reason why iOS lasts so longer in range of 100-80 and then starts dropping faster i.e company wants user to feel like battery is lasting longer(iOS) and on pixel the battery stays longer in 80-30 region. Not sure about it just my theory about weird optimization by companies.
Hi all,
My phone drained 14 percent battery yesterday while idle for 9 hours. The interesting thing is when i add the mAh usages that i see in battery and performance tab it only adds up to 6 percent battery usage. ( i calculated and confirmed with time that 40 mah is aproximately 1% battery)
Also this morning i am seeing an unusual drain as well while the screen is on, it drained 5% but it should have draned only 3% because it says it drained 138 mAh.
Does anyone have any idea about this problem?
This also happened 2 weeks ago and the only thing common both days were, i charged my phone slower (charged using usb on the car) instead of using fast charging.
I also leave the screen shots that shows the battery usage.
Put the phone into Airplane mode when idle: this may save some battery.

yes of course but the battery drain I explained sometimes happens I actually think its a battery indicator bug. Because it shouldn't be draining this much battery because it doesn't show any unusual drain on battery information screen contradicting the percentage lost (14% battery was drained but according to battery information screen it should be 6%)
