Mobile Device Management - General Questions and Answers

Hello All,
I have about 1000 Samsung Galaxy Tab A and Core A03 phones that are used in health facilities, am trying to find a cheaper way to manage the devices to avoid users installing unwanted apps and use. Any solution suggestions that do not involve the use of third party companies/software platforms?
Thank you in advance.

[Q] Rom without apps / clean

hello guys
finally i bought a new mobile - the samsung edge - my old samsung omni 900 (something like 5 years old) i sent in pension.
on the edge are a lot of staff which nobody needs like the whole google shid, or the samsung apps. i was going thru the last published ROMs but i couldnt figure out that this apps was removed ! actually i understand they wasnt removed.
i there a clean ROM for the edge out there where I CAN decide what i want to install ?
i also couldnt figure out (i used the search with the word "panel") if the custom ROMs build the panel has no problems, also the PEN, multiwindow, ...
i also use the samsung gear cycle (an excellent ear speaker - can really recommend) - this uses the samsung app for it - will it work with all functions ?
maybe somebody could advice a CLEAN ROM.

there are a lot of bloatware removers.. Bloatware are the extra apps that come with the rom, that are useless basically
there are tons of apps to remove them
there are members here, who created a zip to flash from recovery to let you choose and the rest is done automatic
but if you prefer removing them yourself, root is a must
and i would suggest installing either, Titanium backup, or Romtoolbox
i love romtoolbox, very user friendly, so as Titanium backup
good luck
remove bloatware
Guys, what are bloatware or unecessary apps are allowed to remove?
Note Edge SM-N915G. Btw im using titanium.

Device Faker from Xposed will enable you to install and open the app, then you need to install Galaxy Apps apk. Problem for me is that Galaxy Apps throws java exception trying to connect to Internet. If you can figure it out, it shows work..
Seems like you need something called 'game optimizing service'. I found some apks and they install OK, but game tuner calls on the app and it crashes...

Is there any difference between pre-installed antivirus and play store installed?

Hello, so I'm wondering whether pre-installed antivirus capabilities on android devices have any inherent advantage over play store installed ones.
For example, despite play protect's poor scores on recent AV-test published tests, does it have any privileges that say, avast wouldn't have? What about the pre-installed protection on Samsung phones, with the smart manager protection scans (which seem to be powered by mcafee) ? Would it have any difference compared to just a regular mcafee app?
Many thanks =)
Also, if there are any sources which cover this subject, please do share, as i can't seem to find anything.

It's only advertisement. Nothing more. Companies pay Samsung or other manufacturers for pre install their apps.
If anti-virus apps are good or bad(in terms of identifying virus, malware, etc.) can only be said if you study av-tests. And you'll never know if they successful detect upcoming viruses. But in my opinion avast is one of the best.

I have had experience with similar phones, I can relate to it. If you dont mind me asking why do you need Samsung messages, contacts, etc. You can just export or backup and transfer. I would advise not to mix up app data across different brands. Unless it is just temporary.

Samsung's apps are designed to work with Samsung's Touchwiz launcher that is installed on all Samsung devices. These apps will only work with Samsung's Touchwiz launcher. If you want to use Samsung apps on a non-Samsung device, you can try porting the apps to work on your device, you may have to port the Touchwiz launcher to work on your device so that the Samsung apps will work.
It won't be easy by any means. It might be best for you to find apps that are similar in function as alternatives instead of Samsung's apps.

I don't know, try doing a search for:
"How to port Samsung Touchwiz apps to other devices"
That should find enough information to start your journey.

I believe you are going to regret that very much, I can't believe you want to do that just for a simple messages app. You Samsung Kies or wondershare or whatever to move you messages. If you use the "Samsung" messages app that might be quite deceitful, might be worse than rooting the phone. Samsung will pissed.

It might be possible if you use a camera app from a Huawei device that has the same hardware architecture as the Samsung device that you want to use the Huawei app on. If it is possible, you will have to port the Huawei camera app to work on the Samsung device, you will have to port the camera to work with Samsung's TouchWiz launcher. How to port the app and what changes you need to make, I do not know, I've never ported an app, I just know it can be done and has been done with other devices.

Security Bolster

Hi team,
I am looking for advice on increasing the device's security after root.
Is there a way to do this effectively?
I've rooted my device (Galaxy S8 exynos processor). Presently the device has had many of the system apps removed, including the Play Store, and most of the Google apps (only drive and Maps remain). Running Android 9 on it.
Open to suggestions!
Thanks all.
Once a device's Android got rooted you and anybody else get complete access to everything in the OS, and those permissions allow you and anybody else to change it all, injecting malware included.
IMO it's a widespread misconception that de-googling increases an Android device's security: All apps and services provided by Google aren't a security risk.
When you're doing things with superuser ( AKA root ) permissions, you have the power to do anything.
Hey friend, thanks for the reply.
The purpose for de-googling was to increase productivity, not to increase the security of the device.
Are you aware of some basic things that could be done?
For example turning off NFC? This would limit device functionality, like using Pay features. But I could live with it...
Are there other suggestions or perhaps even modules/apps to install or settings to apply?
Thanks for the reply!
