Salutations, I'm in exhausted need of some help doing this, tried so many different tools and almost all of them don't support this model. My main goal is to unlock its SIM regional block, but also to root it if need be.
Thanks again for the attention on the matter at hand, Godspeed!

Did you try inserting "a SIM card not attached to your current provider (e.g if you have T-mob use an ATT SIM CARD) and turn on your phone?" (credit sanfranx415 post) edit: maybe try a different gsm carrier in the same country you reside.
From what I have read and understand different versions of busybox will work or are compatible for different things (maybe somebody will tell me if that is not accurate).
Here is a video that might help.
Good luck!
Try contacting t mobile and tell them your going overseas for a few months and want to take your phone with you and is there a way to unlock it so it can be used in another country.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
When you insert the sim card and power up the phone, as you unlock it it should give you a network lock screen that only lets you use the phone after inputting the unlock code.
Greetings all
This is my first post here, and I have done the required searches (to the best of my ability lol)...
I desperately want to root and flash my i9000M, but just as I was doing my last bit of research, I came across the words "operator locked," and this worried me I live in Saskatchewan, Canada, and my SIM is locked to SaskTel.
Will this affect how I root the phone, or if I am able to root it at all? (Root-wise, I've found great tuts...I have upgraded to GB from Froyo, so I'm going to do a factory reset before anything, so I won't need any help with that [yet lol])
Thank you so much for your help!!!
Hello Community!!
Noobiest noob here. Please forgive my ignorance.
Sony Xperia TL [LT30at] AT & T phone.
Android version: 4.1.2
Build: 9.1.F.1.120
Here is my issue:
I now need to use this phone in India with a different network provider, but i don't want to spend money on unlocking the phone for a new sim card. I read a bit about flashing a custom ROM and watched Jeremy Phan's video: "3 ways to root your (xperia) android: tool kits, kernel flashing, recovery"
I installed sony's pc companion and update service, i also installed the flash tool on my machine.
a) will flashing the phone do the trick?
b) if so i'm having a tough time finding the right firmware for this phone. Please link me to a robust and hazel free firmware for my phone.
thanks a ton
micky
Hi Micky,
You cant unlock your phone (remove SIM lock) from the operator by reflashing it. You will need an unlock code for that. A legal way is to obtain it from AT&T if your contract is ended, the other one is to buy it, e.g. on eBay. Once you'll get it, just enter a simple key combination to get into service menu, go to appropriate menu item and enter that code there, after that your phone is unlocked, no reflash needed.
Hope that helps.
Hi summer,
Thanks a lot for your insight. I've been searching all the corners of the internet for a while now, with a vengance I think it should be time to drop those efforts.
Please bear with me, i'm trying to think out loud here - Is there no way i can tweak the phone to accept any sim card? Like by disabling a few settings or hard coding some part after gaining root access?
Buying an unlock code is not an option for me at this point, and i don't want to use the phone just to check email and take pictures
many thanks
SIM lock information is not stored somewhere in firmware, which you can access by gaining root permissions. I assume there may be some tricks similar to Turbo SIM in iPhone where you can emulate the correct SIM, but its definitely not worth it.
Hi there,
So I have a question regarding carrier unlock and Samsung Galaxy Core 2. Long time has passed since I played with Android devices so I wanted to see if everything from before (other brands) still stands.
I want to unlock this phone, its locked on Telenor, but it can't be unlocked without "unlock code"
I know that there were ways to unlock phones via Root and by installing Custom Roms so I want to check if that's still possible, but of course for this device.
And of course if someone can put me in the right direction, I would be very grateful.
Thank you!
this might have already been covered in other threads but didn't find the info I was looking for when searching the threads.
I have a lg g5 h830 running h83030c that has a sim lock on it. I've tried the unlock app, online services and calling tmobile but no luck. Can't seem to get the darn thing to unlock so I can use an Ecuadorian "claro" chip via the usual methods.
So I guess my only other option is flashing the g5 with a stock or custom rom to unlock that sim lock. (preferably stock rom so I won't have any kind of issue down the road.)
Problem is, I am a total noob when it comes to flashing roms etc.
Can any of you help me out by pointing me in the direction of a guide or give me directions on how to achieve my goal of having a trouble free, sim unlocked G5?
Anyone???
a simple guide with suggested roms to use?? anything??
