Question Weird problem with Samsung A32 5g and camera app - Samsung Galaxy A32 5G

I have samsung galaxy A32 5g model sm-a326u , stock Android 11. I frequently use Vanced Youtube via phone data to listen to music while walking (via bluetooth), and tracking with GPS (MapMyRun app). I noticed that if take a picture with default camera app, then GPS tracking stops and Youtube vanced also stops. Looks like camera app breaks something serious while taking picture! Does any one noticed the same problem? Is there a fix?

{Mod edit: Quoted post has been deleted}
I reboot the phone, it doesn't help, the same thing happens next time I use camera app.

[Q] Skype video

Has anyone been able to get skype video going on the tab plus?
I had it running once after the initial installation. Now it fails every time i try. What's interesting that the other person cannot initiate video on their side as well, as the video button is greyed out.
Working fine here.
hmmmm
maybe something is wrong with my device then.
I thought it could have something to do with me rooting it, so i flashed it back to the stock rom and that did not help.
basically skype can see the camera, but if i try to initiate it during the call it fails. the camera works otherwise.
I just checked the logs and it states that it cannot find the matching codec for local video stream and that the video controller does not support large surfaces???
Did you try switching to the rear camera ?
P_
The problem could be on their end...
Set up a second skype account and log in from a computer that you know video works... then call your tab from there.
Tried switching the camera and using a different account, but nothing works.
Also tried getting the modified version of skype and forcing the video, still nothing.
Changing the resolution does nothing as well.
If I try to do video call, the video show up initially and when the person picks up, it goes to black screen. I cannot view other person's video as well.
Problem solved, I went and had the Tab replaced ...

Here WeGo non Samsung phone

So it seems that the Here wego maps/navigation app is not available for the s3 if you aren't using a Samsung phone. (I happen to use an LG v20)
Has anyone found a way to side load the app? Or what is the best alternative maps application for the s3?
Ok I found a way around the issue for anyone watching this thread... It's a little crazy and not for everyone.... I happen to have a Samsung Galaxy S7 as a work phone... I connected my S3 to that phone, where it installed HERE by default.... I then backed up the watch to my samsung account and then reconnected the watch to my LG V20 and restored the backup which included HERE.... Boom.... Problem solved
That's strange.. I got my S3 R-760 back in October 2017 from the UK. Immediately paired to a Sony Z5 and has been like that ever since, even after the ROM updates. One of the first things I did was to install HERE. Can't remember how exactly but it wans't a hassle so I assume straight from the watch or the store. I guess it has been removed after I installed it. Using it now as a standalone, no connection to the phone is required, just direct connection to the internet via wifi or hotspot. Of course I do not have the convenience of using it through the phone which could make it easier to search etc, but it is good enough.
Nice workaround you found, but for those that do not have the option of a Samsung phone, this thread could help: https://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s3/help/wego-t3724511/page3
Hmm - I downloaded from Google onto my OnePlus 5T, installed on watch from Gear store and that was it.

call recording with Pixel 4A & Android 11

Call recording is important enough for me that I've stuck with a Samsung S5 for the last five years now solely to ensure all my calls are recorded. Sadly this phone is close to dying and I was interested in the Pixel 4A.
On the ACR reddit page it mentions that true two-way-call-recording from the audio source should be possible on Android 11 by rooting the phone and installing something called the Magisk repo with the “callrecorder-skvalex” module. I'm just looking for reassurance that this will work with the Pixel 4A before I buy it please.
Also, other than voiding the warranty is there any issues that arise with rooting your phone? Are you still able to download apps from the google play store with a rooted phone?
edit: I would be buying the UK version if that makes a difference.
Rooting your phone will make your phone less secure but as long as you use common sense when it comes to the apps and modules you install you should be fine. Google Pay will not work on a rooted phone (unless you spoof safetynet), but you will keep all google play functionality. Ive noticed that netflix disappears from Google Play when your phone is rooted, but you can just download it from a mirror site or the Aurora Store.
I havent personally used the module you mentioned, so i cant comment on whether or not itll work. And of course unlocking the bootloader will factory reset your device.

Cheers for the info. Sounds like you Magisk... can I ask what method or guide you used to root your pixel and install Magisk?

Use the standard patching of boot.img then boot it and direct install of magisk. Google hosts their own factory images where you can get the boot image.
Here's the guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-4a/how-to/guide-unlock-root-pixel-4a-t4153773

I'm in the same exact boat as the OP. Galaxy S5, trying to find a phone to maintain call recording. Am trying a G950F first, but so far not looking good. Tmobile SIM in it to undo RMM=Prenormal and cell signal is terrible. 1 to 0 bars, -115dBm LTE signal (-120dBm being the 'worst' as I've learned). So considering the Pixel 4a despite wanting more storage than 128gb. Would prefer OnePlus except the size is to...not something I want to try to fit in my pockets, despite having large hands that would like a larger phone.
Very interested in hearing peoples rooting experiences on Pixel 4a and call recording functionality.
I'm coming from an S7 myself. My 4a has Android 11 installed and with the Callrecorder app from Skvalex + the corresponding Magisk module, call recording worked perfectly. After thinking how many times I actually needed the recorded call on my old S7, I decided to get rid of the call recording app.
Latest version of Boldbeast Recorder with their Magisk module works perfect
I am sad to report that skyvalex call recorder does not record calls on my new pixel 4a 5G and I just emailed the developer about it. It used to work on my pixel 3a with android 10.
The program runs and creates audio files of the expected length, but when you play them back, there is no audio. And, yes, my phone is rooted with magisk and has the skyvalex magisk module installed. I suspect that something has changed in android 11 that is keeping it from capturing the audio.
I shall now try boldbeast since beeshyams says it works for him.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm expecting delivery of a 4a 5g and want calling recording. So I'm hopeful that you making Skyvalex aware might accelerate the development of a fix.
Also, I don't know if this will be of help, but in my research last year I encountered this comment on an XDA article (thank goodness I bookmarked things!):
" Lexxior • 8 months ago • edited
It still works on Pie and Q if you have root. Just install app systemizer from Magisk and turn your desired call recorder into a system app. I have been using ACR for months this way and it works flawlessly."

maybe if you can't find a app to work with root systemizing will still work well on Android 11 as well.
Edit: did some more searching around, came across an interesting post on BoldBeast. last post in thread by Admin:

apparently latest version of boldbeast should work fine on Android 11 according to developer.

Aha! The skyvalex developer figured it out after I contacted him and sent logs! The problem was that I was connected to wifi and so the phone was using VoLTE, or VoIP, or Wi-Fi for calling. None of these can be recorded - only calls using the phone network.. So I turned off wifi and then the calls were properly recorded on the 4a 5G using skyvalex call recorder with the magisk module. I am happy that I can get high quality phone call recording again.
This limitation is caused by android, not the app and is documented in the faq here: https://callrecorder.skvalex.com/faq I checked and the boldbeast app has the same limitation: Only normal calls can be recorded, wifi calls can't be recorded no matter what recorder you are using, so if your phone supports the wifi call feature please disable it.
I am going to create a simple tasker scene that will turn off wifi whenever I place or answer a phone call - I think that may solve the problem for me. If you get empty recording files, try turning off wifi before starting your call and tell us what you find.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I found out through some google searches that you can also record phone calls by using the built-in screen recorder BUT you do have to have speakerphone on or it won't hear the person on the other end.
Not an ideal method as it records not only the audio but also whatever is happening on the screen but it could be useful in a pinch. To make it easier to access, you can drag the Screen Record icon to the first page of the Android Quick Settings. I used this method a couple of times before the dev helped me get skyvalex working again by turning off wifi. The resulting files are bigger than you would like because they include a video of the screen but you could always extract the audio only if you wanted/needed to.

OnePlus one with Lineage 18.1

Hi,
Since my OnePlus one has the lineage 18.1 there are these problems:
1. I can not received callbacks from Amazon, even the connection has been established. There is no ringing sounds and after a while Amazon hung up.
2. During a phone call suddenly the display went black when I coincidentally covered the top of the screen. I needed to restart the phone and it was OK again.
3. The security camera app IPC 360 doesn't work well on my OnePlus one: the live video freezes 3 Seconds after I switched on the app. This phenomenon doesn't appear on my other devices like Desktop computer, Tablet.
3. The phone gets every Thursday an update but the size of the software was always exact the same. Is it really a new software? I could not see any change or improvements regarding the problems. Any clues? Thanks.
Hi everyone,
My OnePlus one have these issues since I installed the lineageOS 18.1:
1. The phone does not ring when Amazon calls me back.
2. The Google speech services doesn't work well: No voice guidance when using "HereWeGo" app.
3. The camera can sometimes not recording videos. I have to restart the phone then it works again.
4. Live video of certain wifi surveillance camera app freezes 2 seconds after opening the app.
All these did not happen with Android 10, lineage 17.
Can you tell me if it is possible to downgrade the lineageOS 18.1 back to 17 and how?
Thank you.
Ba Lam
I got regularly updated from lineage OS 18.1. Almost every Thursday I got a 474MB update file to be installed but the Following problems still occur:
1. The camera doesn't work sometime, I could not make videos. I needed to restart the cellphone and it worked again.
2. The TTS engine doesn't work well: I am using Google speech services but the "HerWeGo" app crashes everytime the app starts the voice guidance.
3. The "IPC360" app doesn't work anymore since my OnePlus one got the android 11 and lineage OS 18.1: the live video freezes 2 Seconds after start. This phenomenon doesn't appear on my desktop computer nor on my android tablet nor on my IPhone, IPad.
4. The phone doesn't ring when I got callbacks from Amazon e.g., the connection had established but there was no ringing sounds and after sound 30 seconds it was disconnected.
Can anyone help to solve these problems? Or how can I downgrade the OS to android 10? Thanks

Disconnections of watch gt2 from Health app.

Hello. I have a watch gt2 and a redmi note 8. For some time now I have not had any notifications on my watch, no calls, and while trying to find out what is wrong, I noticed that when I enter the app and select "Devices", my watch is disconnected and then it shows me the connection is made. For a while everything is fine and after a while the same again. I think it all started after the last update of the application in version 12.0.12.320. Note that before, all worked just finel, I did not miss any notifications. There was also a recent update on the mobile in MIUI 12.5.1, I do not know if this also matters. When i open the app and then close my phone, all notifications are working fine in my watch. What is the problem? My watch, the app or my phone? Thank you
I have the same watch and redmi 7 5G phone. I receive all notification but launching Huawei Health App, the watch is often disconnected. I have avoided that the phone can stop this application and Wear OS too, in order to reduce battery consumption. You could do the same, if not yet done.
I've already done this but the problem is still there. Fortunately i don't miss any calls yet. Only messages (i.e. Viber, mail sms email etc) so far have the problem
