[Q]Any ways to roll back to Android 2.3 with S-ON and Unlocked? - HTC Sensation

I really like CM 7, but to use it you need the Firmware that came with Android 2.3
Or there are ways to use CM 7 with Firmware 3.33?

consider just doing S-OFF, 4pda has a few nice guides

What happens if I lock the bootloader and try to install RomUpdrageUtility?
On my HTC Smart I was able to rollback to an older firmware this way

I don't see the harm to s-off and I think it'll be better to do so coz it'll reduce the possibility of getting wifi/connection errors when you flash custom ROMs/kernels.

If you've keyed in all the necessary information correctly in revolutionary.io (especially the phone's serial number), at the same time download the file and generate the key, there shouldn't be any problems. Perhaps you wanna try again?

Hi, there's no way to unlock without htcdev unlock if you upgraded to stock official ics with RUU. I guess this wont change in the future too...
I decided to unlock two weeks ago after giving up waiting.

No. And I doubt anything will.
Maybe what you want is more S-OFF than unlocked bootloader. I'm pretty sure you can still temproot/misc_version to downgrade from ICS to Gingerbread by RUU, S-OFF etc, then flash to an ICS rom (not the RUU).

No you can't. Temp root for the Ics RUU does not exist.

Did you try to unlock bootloader using htcdev.com? And also, did you try using that All in one tool kit for the one x.
Is this a used phone? Because, you can't have 2.14 hboot with android 4.0.3 if you buy a new phone.

Yep , I tried through htcdev.com but it failed (error 106 or error 16 , I don't remember) . All in one tool kit also failed (newest version of AIO, 7/2013) .My fone is new one
I'm dont know how it has hboot 2.14. But, I can't update via OTA (I think it needs AT&T account that I dont have, because I'm outside US) then I tried to update by Rom installer on HTC.com ( 3/2013, AT&T annouced Htc one X can be update to Jelly Bean, and it provides me an official link on HTC.com) but also failed.
Where did you purchase the phone? The info you've provided suggest that it's not new.

It can be rooted but having a new hboot with old software its pretty obvious it's not as new as you think. Could it be a refurbished phone?

Ok this guy ^^^ is right.
1) Download the all-in-one kit by hasoon2000 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1952426
2) Make sure you have the correct HTC drivers installed.
3) Open the toolkit and run step 2b. Motochopper (3.18). Keep in mind you need USB debugging mode on and the fast boot option in your phone's settings off.
4) Run the Get Token ID step in the toolkit.
5) Copy your ID from the command prompt and then go to htcdev.com, register, and then follow the steps provided by HTC to unlock your bootloader.
Pretty straightforward but sometimes it just helps when someone spells it out for you.

Is there a reason you wanna root the phone? Or you just doing it because it can be done? It's really a simple process. I'd read more before trying, the answers u have been given are more than is even needed to get it done. Some people really shouldn't root their device. That's why they come locked. So people without the knowledge or skill set dont trash the phone. If you read redpoints tutorial it has everything you need. He spent a lot of time making it so newbs could get it done without being spoon fed. Read it twice, and by read I don't mean skim looking for the section u think you need. And if you are still unsure read it again. It's crazy the amount of people who ask the same questions over and over again because reading and learning on your own is too time consuming.
Ok I'm better after venting a little lol

If the phone is refurbished (which most probably is, like mine when was replaced due to a cracked screen), the bootloader cannot get unlocked. I have this as an official HTC reply. The reason is there is a mismatch between the phone's IMEI and serial number of the device and their serverscannot cope with that, resulting in the wrong token being generated

[Q] S-OFF for LP

Hey everyone, just recently acquired a HTC M8 for Verizon and I need to get S-OFF achieved. Just to make sure that I've been reading correctly I need to gain temporary root for Sunshine to do its thing for S-OFF.
The phone is on LP 5.0.1 with 4.17.605.9 for the Software number. Is this the correct way to get TWRP and custom ROMs going, its been a while since I've owned a HTC.
Been doing some searching through the forums. It seems some people had issues with sunshine and LP. Anyone know if I'll end with a paperweight or what?

Alright, just to make sure I've got the steps correct. First I should update to MM (I'm gonna do HBoot). Once MM boots up then I run sunshine and let it do its thing. After sunshine I should be S-OFF and allowed to install TWRP?

So I ended up getting it done over my weekend without any hiccups. Hboot upgrade to MM through the link provided. Sideloaded sunshine and followed the steps without issue, thanks for the help man.
