I heard that after switching from Chinese to indian rom, play protect gives a message that the device isn't play protect certified, I need a confirmation over this, and if it becomes uncertified how to solve it.
Thanks

Since the EE Galaxy S6 firmware upgrade to 5.1.1 I have not been able to install (or update) apps from "unknown sources".
I don't use the Play store at all - I use F-Droid - so this means I cannot use F-Droid as a package management tool!
The "allow unknown sources" setting still exists and is enabled, but all installs or updates just hang after confirming the requested permissions...
Has anyone else noticed this problem, or might know of a way to rectify this situation?
Thanks
im on the same firmware and have had no issues installing unkown sources so it should be working
I have indeed made the assumption that the firmware upgrade is the root cause of this problem ... could the upgrade be a pure co-incidence? Stranger things have happened!
I have no idea what else could be causing this, though.

I have finally got to the root of this! IT's a little obscure but I will document it here in case it helps anyone else.
Being an F-Droid user and not having a google account on my android phone I had disabled the Google Play Store app. Quite reasonably I thought, as not having a Google account means it isn't possible to use the Play store.
BUT ... when you set the flag to allow "non-market applications" (as you must to use F-Droid) whenever you install a (non-market) app a nag dialog box would pop up asking if I wanted Google to check the validity of these apps. If you choose "decline" the nag box appears on the next installation. Only if you accept does the nag box leave you alone.
I had previously caved in and allowed google to check the apps (annoyingly there was no "decline and never ask me again" option on the nag screen). After this, I had disabled the Play Store.
After the upgrade presumably the Play store stayed in a disabled state but the nag flag seemed to be reset.
So it wanted to nag me but the app that did the nagging was disabled, so it just hung at that point in the installation.
Re-enabling the Play Store allowed the nag screen again and thus the installation completed. :good:
Hello,
I recently bought a Chinese Redmi K30. I tried installing google apps using the installer from getapps, but the apps are out of date. So I opted to install them individually. Everything works fine except for the payment side.
My guess is something is either blocking or not connecting with the billing servers. In one game, I get an error code 200260 when I try to buy something. I get the same code when I use a Samsung S7 with no VPN.
I have clear cache and data from Google Play, Play Services, and even uninstalled everything and started again. Am I missing something?
Thank you in advanced.
Had the same issue with MIUI CN I think it's bc Google Play Protect is not certified on the device and therefore there's some app that won't be available & payment method screwed up bc of it. So I unlocked my BL, flashed MIUI.eu and my device is now Play Protect certified ?

At least I know that option will work. Thanks for letting me know.
Sure thing man it's just that waiting can pe painful so bear with it ?
I'm having this problem ever since purchasing this phone, and it's really annoying. Sometimes I find out some games or apps I purchased from Google Play appear with the price tag, like if I never purchased them before. This happens also with subscriptions, I think is something about Xiaomi and Google maybe? The only solution I have found is clearing data/cache from Google services, framework and Google Play, then removing my Google account, restart the device and the sign in again with my account in Google. But doing this like every two weeks is frustrating sometimes it happen more often and I don't know what to do. I have the global version (MI) installed can someone please help? Does anyone have this issue as well? Thanks.
I got tired of the problems with Playstore paid apps and avoid them whenever possible and buy to app directly from the developer* if possible.
It's to the point now that I package and firewall block Playstore. Once a paid app is activated many times this and firewall blocking the app stops annoying "Do you wish to upgrade" etc bs.
Lol, I have Samsung Androids and similar issues. It's more like Playwhore...
*Google's pay protection is a sick joke. Just do a charge back on the card if you must. Most developers though provide good support. I haven't had issues outside of Playstore.
$5 is chump change but the time wasted trying to bring Playstore in line is far more costly!!!
Hmm, I have made purchases while being on MIUI 12.5 and MIUI 12.5 (EU) (debloated) . I had no issues with single/subscription purchases.
Are you sure you did not end up disabling some necessary background service from Google or Xiaomi?
Maybe a hard reset or switching to a debloated version of MIUI might help but this sounds more like a particular service not functioning properly.
Hey guys,
so i did a downgrade from C.05 to C.04 (EU) with BL and now after installing everything, Netflix is the only one needed to update in Play Store but is unable to. Tried to turn it off since it was a pre-installed app and it still was shown in PS. I even used DRM app to check my Widevine, whether that’s the problem but it’s L1 (so that should not be it imo). I’m not using Netflix these days, but it’s so that i don’t have to bother in the future if I’d want to watch. And I know I can probably find some file on the internet and install it, but it’s annoying to see it in PS. Anyone knows how to fix it?
Thanks.
EDIT: Realised i needed a Google Play Certificate, which i didn’t have and i just relocked the bootloader and everything’s fine now

Hi, try to flash a magisk module called universal safetynet fix (kdragon) and if it doesn't work, you need to hide something like google play services with the new zygisk magisk hide settings, but I don't remember what exactly. There are plenty of videos explaining how to get the play protect certification just search on google. Let me know if this helped

Hello everyone,
this is my first post here, so pls forgive any mistakes (and english grammar torture too).
I've bought a sample of a tablet from a chinese factory, it was intended to be proposed to some of my customers for let them customize, import here in EU and distribute.
The key point of the project was that tablet need to be capable of run Netflix, Primevideo in HD. So...Widevine L1 mandatory.
The supplier, as usual, promised that L1 was there, no problem, let's go ahead.
The tablet arrived and this is what i've found.
DRM info show L1 Widevine, but i was unable to test Netflix as the Play Store miss Play Protect certification and this prevent me to download the app from the store.
I've download an apk of a recent version of Netflix app, that is working but show Widevine L3 and the broadcast is in SD. I dont know if this issue is related to the fact that the app wasn't download from Play Store or its because, in some way, this tablet is not L1 despite what DRM info say.
I've tried also to register the Service Framework ID on the google webpage, to see if i can certify this device, but i'm not sure if the OS is considered like a custom ROM or not, and i dont have understand very well if this registration can work only on devices with custom rom installed.
Of course seem that factory engineers are unable to solve this, and i've excluded this supplier and this product from this project.
So now i was wandering if there is some way for "cure" this tablet by myself and avoid it become the yet another ornament in my office. Is not so bad overall.
My main question is: its possible to fake L1 certification on DRM Info side? Maybe this is only an L3 device, and this is why Netflix apk (unmodded) show that. How can i check this?
If the L1 certification is real and the problem is on the apk, is it possible to turn around the problem of Play Protect and download the original and updated app?
If L1 cert is real, installing a custom rom can help in some way?
I'm not too much in this technicism, so pls forgive me if my question dont take in consideration some basic knowledge that i dont have right now.
Thank you in advance to anyone will read or help.
