OTA and Non-OTA Firmware for S22 Ultra SM-S908U and S22 Ultra SM-S908U1 Versions

There is no userdata file in those links. Only the 3 and the 2 csc files. 5 files- no userdata
There is no Userdata folder. What issues are you having with Visual Voicemail and Mobile Hotspot?
AT&T device? Mobile Hotspot works on mine as well as VVM, but only as the standalone app.
One issue. Att firmware files are hard to come by. Id check samfrew.com I know they have it but they charge. I found a couple other places but they also charge
https://samfrew.com/amp/download/Galaxy__S22__Ultra__/2nhg/ATT/S908USQU1AVA6/S908UOYN1AVA6/ right here to be exact
Edit: I can't read. Long day. Sorry
If you pay attention. You'd see he's wanting to go from U1 back to ATT firmware.
Ahh, you're right... haha! My bad. I'm gonna go to bed now. Lol

We can't. No Kernel source has been released, and Android M needs a new bootloader which is unique for each model.

I was going to but after reading thru the threads, I'm gonna hold off for official release (which should be soon for European S6) becasues apparently the battery drains from an unofficial upgrade path is pretty serious. And some people are getting force closes. I really really want to tho, so I may. I mean KNOX isnt important to me. Still debating.

@iBowToAndroid Does this Stock_Downgrade firmware actually work to downgrade to PC5? https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24533100289590563
Yes... it also enabled video calling and wifi hotspot for me. The tethering/hotspot menu setting is not there, but the dropdown notification settings can have the hotspot setting added. Havent tried the video calling feature. Also the dialer codes do not work in the ##DATA# format.

Yes you can downgrade... but is has its pros and cons. It is not the same as the sprint ota. It has its pros and cons. Some of which I mentioned above. I used Odin to flash the file, but had to delete the MD5 extension for Odin to acknowledge it.

Its not the firmware that came with the phone originally. It's the first OTA. I downloaded it. It's only the AP. No BL, CP, or CSC. So those will still be from PD3. I installed it via Odin and am setting the phone back up right now. So far everything is working ok. Would be awesome to have the bootloader and everything else that goes with it, but if it works it works!

The link I posted above is legit. I cannot get the PB5 firmware to take, I keep getting bootloops, but the uploader has had success downgrading all but the bootloader.
The PC5 package totally works though. Bootloader and all. I just successfully Odin'ed all 4 tars back to PC5 and will remain on PC5 until Samsung and Sprint can get their heads out of their asses when it comes to the poor battery life introduced with the PD3 update.

The AP, CP, CSC files all flash fine, the BL will not. And you may get bootloops. I haven't seen anyone other than the original uploader get it to boot up properly.
I have been reading about people who get their s8 network unlocked and try to flash to a different carrier firmware only to find that it does not change but stays on the original.. did samsung block this or is odin outdated? Theories??

I wish it was possible but I've been told I'm just not smart enough to figure it out. I would have thought in two weeks we would have seen proof of people doing it by now.
I believe we're waiting for a newer version of Odin before we will be able to successfully flash. There's a userdata file I believe that we need to flash as well.

Somewhere around page 45 start reading.
However this makes it generic Canadian firmware. So no volte or wifi calling. I'm guessing we're still a few weeks off to be able to move from US carrier to US carrier.
The userdata odin change is the important part (as well as using the Odin that doesn't check firmware hash).
I'm going to go Canadian this eve and then reflashing with my T-Mobile SIM in back to the 955u firmware. Which I'm guessing won't work. But we'll see!

BEWARE!! Thats a new boot loader... v2! you wont be able to do a full factory restore until a v2 bootloader odin file is released.
That being said, how do you like it? any differences?

Why are these bad updates?
These updates from sam firm science allowed a lot of us to get onto oreo beta. If you know how to recover your phone why is this a problem. OP explained the risk with the bootloader.

Actually, cancel that, he is no longer trying root methods SAMFail has been PATCHED! So, it gonna be even longer until ROOT....
I may just go to international S9+ if there root seems like a false hope on the SD variant. The only issue would be VoLTE and WiFi calling, oh and Samsung suddenly restricting call recording apps on international variant. I tried flashing those Engboot from other thread with no luck btw.

Mod, please move this to general section. Apologies
That's great news, was a bit worried about security update coming back to Samsung.
I think the battery is acceptable 4 to 5 hours screen on time, no dark mode and on high brightness.

Top geezer. Only been on xda 54 years and could not find it! In my defence I've never incorrectly started a thread in thy wrong place.
Now let's get updating!

Took me a few days to realize I could set it when I got back. Thought I had been gone so long that I was locked out of general posts.

Is anyone here on the AT&T variant? If so, have you gotten your update yet?

It was released in Ireland, but it typically releases for the unlocked variants before the carriers.
Oh, ok.
Haven't noticed any big difference yet. Still digging around.

In my experience, AT&T will be the last US carrier to upgrade. Just use Frija and get the latest built from another US carrier, like TMB for example.

True. TMB does have a very slightly newer build (AUGB) than what came on the AT&T version but it still has the July security patch.
