Question Samsung Canada delaying March update? - Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

Rogers and Telus initially scheduled the 8th for FOTA release. Still no sign of update while the rest of the world seemingly is getting rolled out.

Rest of the world and Exynos getting it first then North America after. I'm in the U.S. with unlocked and haven't gotten it yet either. Guess we'll get it when we get it.

This is good, korea update fix gos trash

No update yet on Rogers canada. I think Samsung is holding on to the patch to include GOS fix in it. Its generating bad PR for the company.

Is Samsung doing a late fix on this gaming performance controversy, maybe??

[Q] OTA 5.0 in South Korea

So I moved here in October and have been patiently waiting for 5.0 since my arrival to South Korea. November 12th came and went and I didn't have an update message. I have tried checking twice a day since, but no OTA. My question is this. Is South Korea not getting the update the same way as the USA? My devices are both purchased in America (Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 2013). Will I have to sideload the update?
Background:
I am a US Soldier stationed in South Korea.
The OTA has nothing to do where you are. Even of you would be in America nothing would change. You can just wait for the OTA for now

It's not just you, mate. The rollout has stopped. Reason: unknown.

Thank you for your responses. Good to know. I guess I will just wait and see what happens. If worse comes to worse I may just sideload it.

I just heard from verizon that the volte update is coming 12-11-14

I just heard from verizon that the volte update for the verizon m8 is coming thursday 12-11-14 they also call it the 4GLTE high speed calling update. I just know because they are claiming its supposed to help with 4g LTE data as softcard claims it will fix the issues my phone has with them.
Inb4 12-11-14 and no update. Doubt they are pushing anything out for VoLTE till next year.

Agree. Would make sense to integrate that roll-out into the Lollipop update, which would be due around January/February based on prior announcements.

I think the OP meant today, USA date convention, Thursday , Dec. 11 14. (12-11-14)
The idiots at softcard told me this update was coming out for my phone the m8, but they being idiots messed up and this update was for the droid turbo and not my m8. Verizon also screwed up and said it was for my m8 too, which today they confirmed that it was for the droid turbo and not my m8. You cant trust either to tell you the correct information.

no December security update!

Where is the update, I'm on Telus.
I wonder if I just have to pop in a Rogers SIM like I did with my Essential, just to get the update, because Telus won't let the update through
It seems as though no Canadian carrier has made the update available.
I'm wondering if this is on Google or the carrier. I would assume carrier...
Edit:
According to Fido's software update schedule, the December update will release December 19. A little behind, but oh well I guess. Hopefully this is earlier if not the same day for other carriers.
Quick question - if I've got an LG g7 one running in another region on another carrier (even though it's originally a Canadian released phone), how can I receive the updates (both security and pie)?

I can't say for sure as I've never tested this, but I honestly don't see why you wouldn't still receive any updates through the normal OTA process. If you don't, I'll do some research and see if there's firmware for this phone anywhere.
(I just picked this phone up a few days ago so I'm still learning about this particular model and the Android One program.)
Thanks, techboy11. Actually, I think the powers that be at LG must have heard my complaint, because I appear to be getting the update today! I'm glad to see that it's working as expected, because my main reason to get the G7 One was for the "Android One" experience (and the regular updates that that implies).
Dec update
Hi Everyone, just got Dec update for my G7 one, 263.9 MB includes bug fixes, security and system improvements. I'm with koodo.
Bell here, also got it. The update says
"LG is pleased to provide a new, free software update for your Android Smartphone. This release includes various bug fixes, security and system improvements."
Sounds like LG is pushing it, not the carriers. If the carriers were in control, it would probably drop on different days.
For anyone on Bell who may not have for some reason received the update, here is the OTA zip to do what you want with. I am not sure if this is applicable to other carriers as I've noticed the file sizes are different. For Bell mine was 260.4 MB compared to a Koodo 263.9 MB update.

Well that's interesting. That zip is the one I recieved at 260 MB. Wonder why there's a minor size difference ?

Was yours sent to you by someone packaged as a zip or did it appear on your phone as an update?

It appeared on my phone as that size of update and I grabbed the OTA link/file myself at the same size.
On Fido in Ontario here. Just did a manual check and I received the December security update.

New update - finally (March SMR)

On Fido. Update received after manual update check.
March SMR confirmed.
Same, on Bell.
This likely means the carriers have nothing to do with it... LG or Google is pushing the updates, though probably LG, hence the line "LG is pleased to provide...".
so happy to get this, i'm also on fido.
based on the wording and timing of the updates so far, it feels like LG is the one pushing out the updates. curious to see if they continue being so laggard - can they actually get kicked out of the android one program if they aren't meeting the monthly rollouts? hopefully they improve on this - after my G4 being abandoned so quickly i was pretty hesitant to trust LG again but this is a pretty sweet phone all in all imo.
Received it as well.
I got my update on the same day - Unlocked & purchased from Amazon.ca.
No update in Japan (but we did get the february update before north america so the scheduling is all over the place)

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G Security Updates

Hi,
I had purchased the Korean version of the Z fold 2 SM-F916N here in the UAE, its PDA is F916NKSU1ATK1 and CSC is F916NOKR1ATK1, yes it SK Telecom carrier tagged, but i can use with local service provider Etisalat without any issue except for Samsung Pay, what i wanted to know is why its still showing the October 2020 security patch as the latest, anybody having the same model got the November or December security patch?
Also will there any issues if I flash the phone to UAE CSC (XSG) from the current Korean CSC (KSU) ?
Thanks
Hi, I'm in the US. I have an unlocked, direct from Samsung Fold 2. I'm still on the Nov security patch. Samsung's time line for Android 11/One UI 3.0 update is Feb 2021. My guess is, I will get the December and Jan patch later this month. I would anticipate you getting those updates as well. Your updates may take a little longer only because it is carrier branded and so there is yet another chef in the kitchen, so to speak.
*Not sure about the flashing, sorry.
How can you still be on November security update living in USA? I have unlocked Fold using on AT&T network and I have December security update already since December 19, 2020?

Thanks for your reply, yeah I get what you are saying with "another chef in the kitchen", carriers take their own sweet time pushing the updates, they have their own schedules as opposed to Samsung's monthly updates for premium flagships, was hoping it would be different with the Z Fold 2, being also an expensive phone.

Same. I'm a little confused by their timing with updates, however take as long as you need if it's going to ensure a good experience. Cheers

Depends where you buy it. The non carrier unlock receives updates last. Which why we still on Nov update. Once all carrier are approved we get pushed the update.
