Hello Everyone,
I recently purchased n986u1 but realized they have closed the option to unlock the bootloader after the recent patch.
2 days later I purchased an Exynos variant is shipped with android 12 and somehow managed to downgrade to android 11.
I'm a full-time oneplus/ iPhone user and was not aware of the binary issue on Samsung. Want to downgrade to android 10 doest matter if its custom ROM or anything else
Current software version-
Android 11
n985fxxs3dug9
Help will be highly appreciated
Very happy to donate something for future development.
The bootloader was updated so rolling back past 11 likely isn't possible.
The last new Samsung Note that shipped with Android 10 is the N10+. New ones are still for sale.
You can roll back to the same and a higher version than the bootloader/build number. That significant digit is the 5th from the end.
Here's how to read and interpret what you got.
Example, in this case it is 2, a N10+ running on Pie:

cant even flash a samsung custom rom?
Checking SamFW there's Android 11 and Android 12 Samsung stock ROMs compatible with the lastest BL revision. Going back to Android 10 wouldn't change your bootloader version, regardless. There may be some method that I've missed, but it's unlikely that it will be worth the time/effort to get there.
You can flash Android 11 (As I did originally) since there's a version compatible with the BL revision, or flash Android 12.
Edit: If your goal is just to root the device, check out https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-dr-ketan-rom-i-oneui-4-0-i-oneui-3-1.4154487

After Core Prime and other Mid-range devices got an Official Lollipop Update (5.0.2), there comes a Final Phase. .In the previous phase, Core 2 update status was "pending", now it changed to "approved" in the Final Phase. Means our device is already confirmed to get an Android 5.0 update. . I don't know if this is really true. .But I hope Android 5.0 will come to our device .
BTW, what does "final phase" mean?, it means, the last mid-range devices to get Android 5.0 update?, what do you think guys?

Some news:
As far as I know, Galaxy Grand Prime Value Edition SM-G531H (3G model) will be launched soon with Android 5.0.2 out of the box. It has SC8830 spreadtrum chipset which is similar to our device SM-G355H. It has 1GB of ram. .I'm wondering if Samsung use SM-G531H firmware as a base ROM for updating Core 2 to Android Lollipop, because I guess that there are only small changes of SM-G531H' rom to make it running on Core 2 models. .
Yes, i've already read it, I Hope soon we have Lollipop on out device, it will be great
I hope Samsung releases it in month or two... After all its a major update...
@Azhero @om.shiva For me it's an official news, and i think soon we have lollipop on GC2 i didn't think that page will post some fake info. What do you think?
Looking at page I think it's true news...I would've tried to(still learning) build recovery and 5.1 for our devices instead of waiting for official...but source is huge in size....
Is This Info Really True????
Are You Guys sure that Samsung Galaxy Core 2 Devices Will Get Official Lollipop Update From Samsung??
Hi My Xiaomi MI4 recently has been showing notification of UPDATE available TO version MIUI 10. Should I update it ?
I've heard it doesn't change nothing at all. and beside it once you update to it, you can't downgrade to previously version.

It may slow down the phone. But it will also give new looks and better features. Also, there is always an option to downgrade if you can use your laptop and spend some time to install any custom rom. (Will also void the guarantee)
It's a good choice to update to MIUI 10.

I've tried the lastest version of MIUI for cancro(MIUI10 8.9.13) for nearly one year. Before Febuary, 2019, I tried the PixelExperience(based on Android 8.1) and its new features & mini size touched me(I can use my face to unlock by Google Smart Lock. And 16GB isn't enough nowadays). But finally I missed the convenient settings and stability of MIUI, and Android 6.0 can still running most of the apps.
Of course, I have deleted some useless system apps(for me) like Mi Video\Mi Game\Mi Browser. In this case, I installed MX Player and Via(also Google Webview Core). To make the ROM better, I also changed the theme(bar, lockscreen), fonts(changed to MiLanPro by an app[because Magisk doesn't work on this ROM]), launcher(with a good icon package) and wallpaper. It doesn't slow down the phone. Just try it!

Hello,
The same question as the title, is it possible to downgrade android version 12 to 11? I feel that it runs too badly on android 12 compared to its previous version.
I already tried via odin, from G996BXXU5CVDD (current OS 12 installed on my cell phone) to G996BXXU3AUIE (the latest version of Android 11 available from my carrier); but when "starting" the process, it fails and on my cell phone it appears as "sw rev check fail (bootloader) device 0x5 binary 0x3".
plz Help
Thanks!
Depends on the bootloader version.
The 5th digit of the rom must the same or higher than the bootloader's 5th significant number/letter, it can't be lower.
In this case that number is 2:

Ouch.
If it was a OTA update you can as long as the bootloader wasn't upgraded too.
If it came loaded with 12 the bootloader probably is also upgraded.
This is one thing I hate about stock Samsung's.
My one N10+ came loaded with 10 and the other is still running on 9. I prefer Pie, it's more 3rd party app friendly and easier to troubleshoot.
So yeah, I feel your pain
Rip. Android 12 sucks, I reverted back to 11 after less than a day of use. 13 doesn't seem like it'll get much better either.
Earlier this year I bought myself a Note 10 Pro and I tried a custom Android 12 ROM. I found out that after installing Android 12, it would relock either the recovery or the bootloader. I forgot what exactly, but TWRP would not work anymore after installing 12. Getting Viper4Android or Magisk on it after flashing a 12 ROM was a headache. It was stuck somehow but I managed to get OrangeFox on it and then wiped everything, which allowed me reinstall Android 11. I'm still using 11 and am quite happy with it.
I wonder if anything has changed. I am looking to get a Note 12 Pro and I wonder what your experiences are with it in regards to the use of custom Android 12 ROMs, especially Viper4Android, which I can't do without. A quick search says TWRP is still working on 12 support.. and that is from a news post back in June..

Apologies for posting here but there is no forum for the LG Wine Smart (D486). Mine currently has stock 4.4.2 KitKat. Aw remember that? LG update app no longer functions correctly as it was shut down in 2020.
Is there any way to update this to 5 or preferably 6? There is an app I need that isn't compatible with Android 4.
You have to find
1. A Custom ROM suitable to phone ( specs: 1 GB RAM, 4 GB max storage )
2. If found, a Custom Recovery suitable to phone to flash the Custom ROM found
Many thanks. Sorry for the questions but if you were me, where would you look first?
Alternatively I wanted to make it clear that this phone officially shipped with Android 5.1 later in its life. I just happen to have an earlier 4.4.2 version. Where might I find the official 5.1 ROM and flash it?
Edit: I have found some options that I will try at http://lg-roms.com/lg-firmware/lg-h410/h41010d/2879
I'm not having any luck @jwoegerbauer . It turns out 4.4.2 was the latest official ROM for this phone.
Would you be able to assist a little? If you were me, where would you look first (as in URLs) to get a custom Android 6 ROM and recovery?
I'd like to update to Android 6 or higher. All the apps I want to install require Android 6+.
I'd just need to make sure it can recognise input from the LG Wine Smart D486 keypad.
