Question Customize System Sound - Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

Does anyone know of a way to customize the system sound without root? I found the system folder and files for the stock system sound options but I get access denied when I try to paste other sound files in there.
Thanks!

[HOWTO] Disabe those annoying volume sounds [root only]...

It has been pointed out here that some of you don't like the annoying volume-up and volume-down sounds...
As you might know, those files are just 7 mp3 files in /system/media/audio/ui (in STOCK based ROMs)
You can replace them by silence...
Download THESE and put them in your ui folder...
Go to recovery and execute these commands:
Code:
adb shell mount /system
adb push volume-1.mp3 system/media/audio/ui/volume-1.mp3
adb push volume-2.mp3 system/media/audio/ui/volume-2.mp3
...etc...
adb reboot (to reboot your phone)
EDIT: Removing those sounds works just as fine, so instead remove them via RootExplorer
(I've found out that some ROMs play strange sound instead of silence )
But it si possible that other ROMs has these sounds elsewhere, so try searching for .wav/.mp3/.ogg file in the ROM...
It is also possible these are packed in some .apk file as a resource...in that case you need to find what .apk file it is, decompile it, replace those sounds, recompile it and push back....
I hope this helps someone
And of course hit that THANKS button if you like it
i assume you forgot to mention, that modifiying the system requires root? to me the thread-title kinda looks like it could work for everybody, since usually root-modifications have a [root] within the title...
Sorry about confusion, but modifying anything in the system does require root...
Nevertheless I'v updated the thread headline

[Q] No ringtones and music

Hi,
I recently updated my Sensation to newest ARHD (7.0) without wipe and my ringtones and music is gone. Also for many of apps if I open them, I'm getting FC, but in this case if I delete data for that app, the problem is gone, but I don't know what I should do in case of lost ringtones and music? When I'm trying to select ringtone all I got is empty list.

Unzip the attachment and copy and paste it into system folder in the root of your phone. And try to set the ringtone again from setting. See what will happen.

There was other problem. The sound files were present, but system couldn't see them, but I've fixed this and other problems by fixing permissions via recovery.
But thanks anyway!

[Q] Selecting Personal Ringtone & Notifications?

Well I've read a good number of articles online about setting your own ringtone on the Apollo - none of which work on this G3 Modded phone for some reason?
I cannot write a new folder called media on the internal SD card - it will not let me.
I can write a new folder called media on the ext_SD card but it will only allow me to put one folder inside....
No matter what I try, the phone will only look at reading the media folder in the system for the default ringtones...
So, does anybody have any idea how to choose your own ringtone and notification?

If you have root you can push your ringtones to system/media/audio/rintones (or system/media/audio/notifications for notifications).

Try using root explorer, at the top right corner there will be mount R/W button just press it when you will be in system/media/audio/rintones and you should be able to copy. The same with notifications.

Well I managed to get Root Browser installed onto the phone - then although I could transfer the files finally, the system wouldn't see them as .mp3 files.
Converted them online to .ogg and the system still couldn't see them...when selecting ringtone etc.
Rebooted phone as a last effort and all is now well :silly:
I'm not so sure why this is so difficult really - it was all very simple on the previous non-Smart phone from ZTE :cyclops:
Thanks for the help
You're welcome

Stock ringtones and notifications

I'm trying to find the stock ringtones and notifications files but can't seem to locate them. Any hints on where they might be?

the stock ringtones are located in system/media/audio
and then have the folders for alarms, notifications, ringtones and UI!
remember you have to give root permissions to acess them via root explorer!

How to Read/write to system ?

Okay so I'm trying to move some apps onto my system apps with File Explorer root is enabled and I am on a custom rom screwd to be exact. The problem is it will not let me put any apps in my system private app file folder. I tried flashing viper4android and it would not flash everytime I would flash it it wouldn't be in my app drawer. So now I'm trying to put viper4android onto my system apps but it will not let me copy it there. I figured I don't have read/write to system. I'm really not sure but if anybody knows how to get permission to write to system let me know please it's frustrating. I've tried searching for anyone with this issue but I could not find it if I am wrong please leave me to the right direction thank you
