Question Difference in Google Assistance versions - Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

The s22 comes with Google Assistance pre-installed. When I go to the Play Store, it also shows Google Assistance as installable. Are these different versions? Is one better than the other?

[Q] Google Play crashes at start on chinese tablet

Hello, community! I recently bought a Chinese tablet and one of the first things I did was to install Google Play and Google Play Services via apk, I also added my Google account. The problem is that after loading for a while it says: 'The application Google Play Store has closed unexpectedly'. The amazing thing is that it pops up a notification that there are updates for my apps! Also the tablet shows up in my Google account as a device. The other applications that require Google Play services (like youtube and google now) run fine. My firmware version is 4.1.1. Also the download manager IS enabled. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

This means that you have purchased a chinese style software configuration tablet. Thanks to encouragement by ccp policies towards google, many manufacturers (would you believe i have in my hands a samsung note 8 that does the same thing!) have stripped out the play store in favor of other alternatives. For me, i am going to root and flash this tablet and forget default aoftware is even something that exists.....

Galaxy store listing update to apps from Play Store

Hi,
I tried searching but did not find anything related to this so apologies if I missed it. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this or if maybe I have an issue.
I have apps that I specifically installed from Google Play store, one being Zoom, that appeared as updates that need to be done in the Galaxy store. Play store says everything is up to date. So, when checking the Galaxy store, these apps do not appear in the list of "my apps" but are on the available update list. I updated Zoom using the Galaxy Store update and it then became a Galaxy store app not a Play App.
I don't use Galaxy store for anything other than the updates to the Samsung apps. At first, I considered that this could be a Samsung specific update but I don't think that makes much sense. Is this a way that they are trying to convert use to their app store?
Thanks!

[Question] - Samsung S21 in China have google services?

Hi,
I know google services/store, etc is blocked but I wonder if services are still installed so all I need to do is download the apk for the store? I saw a previous thread that the Samsung note 10+ in China still had google services installed if it was hidden and I am wondering if that will be the same for s21.
I am living in China and was looking to buy the s21 ultra but I don't have any experience rooting or flashing if that is what is needed to get google services/app store on it.
Use Yalp Store. The point of Yalp Store is to be small and independent from Google Services Framework.

Cool, thanks for the info! I will look into that but overall would prefer to just see if I could install google services framework first.

Google Play store in Canada

Hey everyone, haven't been on the forums for a long time, anyway i bought a Fire 10 2019 and i went through the process of installing google play store on the device. The Play Store icon shows up, but when i press login nothing happens. I have used the Toolbox V12.0 to try it. The google icon won't open at all but the play store will open, and like i said, it will not let me login. I remember reading a review on amazon.ca and the person who wrote it said the Canadian version of the tablet was like wearing handcuffs compared to the American version. When i ran the toolbox the first few apk's failed. Any suggestions?
You can use a VPN app.
Another Candian here. I've got an HD 10 and the Play Store works without a problem.
The biggest issue with the Canadian Fire vs American is that various built-in services do not function, such as Alexa. (You can use it to control other Alexa-enabled devices, but the assistant portion does not work while it works fine in the US) I ended up installing Google Assistant to fill the role you'd think Alexa would take on an Amazon product.

Sorry i took so long to reply. I did end up getting it to work. Is the Canadian version really as bad compared to the American version as the person who left the review says it is?

Google App Implementations

Got my OnePlus 9 Pro today, before I start flashing LOS I wanted to ask a couple questions about my Google choices.
Is it possible to not have any Google apps/services on the phone but still have access to the Play Store? I've seen Aurora store mentioned a couple times, but it doesn't seem like it works that well on my current device (searching for apps that I know are there but get no results, etc.). Those apps would likely still rely on Google services and break without them, correct?
Is it possible to use Mozilla's location services instead of Google's?
If no to the above, can I use Google's location services through a proxy?
What are the differences between OpenGApps/MindTheGapps/microG? I'm considering the latter (microG) but it looks like there hasn't been much progress on it and I don't know how functional it will be.
I want as little Google on my phone as possible while still having access to GPS, apps that rely on Google having bare minimum functionality, and privacy. What is the best way to do this?
1. You have access to the web of Play Store. play.google.com
