I upgraded from the Note 20 with LED to the 22 Ultra with LED Case. Changes are good and bad.
1. The case covers to top and bottom of the phone whereas the Note 20 case did not. This offers more protection but makes it a little more difficult to remove the SPen.
2. The LED display is much smaller on the S22 Case.
3. The charge card department re design makes it much easier to pull out a card or license.
4. The cut outs for the lenses on the back means the lenses are recessed and more protected.
Anyone else have thoughts?
Anecdotal reports of slow downs and lagging that's been attributed to the use of this case. Let us know if you experience this while using your phone and if so remove the case and see if all those issues go away..
So far everything seems smooth and fast, but I haven't played any videos. I'm going to hook it up to my car with Android Auto, Per other posts, I did a clean install of AA.
I h haven't used an LED case since my s7, but I got my s22 ultra yesterday, and I've got a couple of issues.
1) I can't figure out where the option is to turn off auto wake the screen when opened (and auto lock when closed)
2)If I'm playing music, opening the case opens the music playlist instead of going straight to the lock screen. Its quite irritating actually
If those problems are solved I'll be happy

Samsung has been offering both the LED case and S-view case for years now. I've had both types and have never had any issues with the S pen so it's safe to say they do not use magnets. While I don't know for sure, I believe they use a phone sensor of some type (proximity?) to detect when the cover is opened or closed. I know the LED cover used NFC to transfer the data to the front cover for display. I also believe Samsung has some type of chip/tag embedded in the back of the case to denote it's a Samsung case. You will not find any other non-Samsung case that will make the phone turn on/off when the cover is opened/closed. A great feature which negates the need for the most part to ever touch the power button!
Thanks but the Samsung Smart Clear View Cover has many comments on amazon and also photo that prove spen interference in the middle right area of the phone
I have in the past many led case without interference for note but I'd like to be sure that nothing has changed with s22 ultra in my country are 60 euros that I don't want to throw away

I completely understand wanting to verify the case. I referenced an S-view flip cover and you referenced a Smart Clear View cover. I wonder if they are the same? I could not find your referenced case on Amazon nor on Samsung's site - could you provide a link?

there is no magnetic anywhere on the case
also i have a question about this case, how many cards can you actually fit in the slot before it doesnt close?
Ive watched several videos all of them are only slipping 1 single card in there, and one of the video actually says the case does not close if you put a card or even a glass screen protector, anyone can confirm or deny?

I have not seen one, but there are a couple of apps on Google Play that are supposed to help you with this if you just use any cover that covers the proximity sensor.
One of them is called CaseSensor, I have not tried this one myself and based on the reviews it may not work that well...
This one does not; however, here is my review on the case I bought. LOVE it.
Ok, my case just arrived. In a word, amazing.
Quality - Outstanding.
Fit - Perfect. Tablet is in there snug. Zero wiggle or shift.
Protection - As good as it gets.
Looks - Expensive.
Feel - Back is soft felt - very comfortable to hold. Inner sleeve small enough to still easily thumb type.
Convenience - Portrait and landscape with REMOVABLE INTERIOR..
Pen Access - Comes with own pen holder designed for the s-pen.
I mean, I am hard on cases and return them in a second if don't like them. I'm keeping this. I love it. I am truly amazed they can produce a case of this quality for $17.95.
I'd take some pictures myself but it looks just like this.

I had that one for 10 minutes . Returned it . That velcro releases too easy , and then when you want to put it together it takes 2 tries to adjust camera cutout . You have to stylus in the holder on the side and not in it's original place like intended . When it's in original place you can't pul it out . After i returned this one I ordered this one http://www.amazon.com/Acase-Samsung...409002&sr=8-10&keywords=galaxy+note+10.1+case

There's an opening in the case for the pen so you can keep it in the original place, it's just too small. You can pull it out, it's just not very easy to do. I'm getting better at it though. I would like a bigger opening like the one on the case you linked to.
Anyway, I thought I read that when the pen is not inside the tablet slot, the Note executes pen detection code. If you store the pen outside the tablet, wouldn't that drain your battery? There's even an option (in settings) to turn off pen detection when it's inside the tablet slot.

I think it would only place a small drain on the battery if the pen was close enough to be registering and then you would get the hovering icon which you don't get until the pen is quite close to the screen.
Hi,
Does anyone knows how will work, the s-cover?
It´s going to work like tablet, for the awake function?
And the screen lock, is different?
Thank you.

Does anyone know if the s cover replaces the back/battery cover or clip on, this will be the case for me especially if they get cheaper on eBay.
Hoping this cover also includes all the "bits and bobs" for wireless charging to work (unlikely - but from the video it is slightly thicker than the original battery cover, similar to the wireless charging battery cover seen here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OKgeZPyiHo)
Anyone know where we can order one of these yet?

According to the video I saw, the entire phone with the original back sets in the S view case. When the phone was placed in the case and the front cover closed, the full screen switched to only the info that shows in the window. But what causes the screen to react with just the information that shows within the S view window rather than the entire screen???
S4 pre-ordered from Sprint
Maybe found the answer: Hall sensor

Can you use the S-Cover with a case? Or is it just "one or the other".
It looks like to me if you flip the front cover all of the way open (to the back) to use the camera or shoot video that the front cover will at least partially cover the lens?

Yes, S Cover replaces battery cover, and looks alike.
I have version with "window" at front, and automatic unlock works very well.
Some pics of the S-cover inside a case. Doesn't work too well!
The S-cover is pretty nice! I've noticed that the front side is not as strong as the s3 version. Maybe to do with the window they have added.
(This is all torture as I don't get my phone till nxt week! arrgghhhh lol)
Nice, thanks Winwiz.
Used it for 3 hours.. nice!
Received my S4 today in London,UK on "3" network. So obviously went straight to "Samsung" store at "Westfield Shopping Centre" in Stratford. They have the covers for £50.00 each, but won`t be available till tomorrow (same as phones themselfes). So i went into "3" Store which is based at the same shopping centre and voila- bought this cover without any problems for £45 UKP. I know you can buy it twice cheaper online, but will receive it only in 2 weeks or so. So far i can say it works perfectly! The only problem i can see right now the top cover- it`s just flaps, therefore you have to take care while carrying it in the pocket, make sure there is no dust or coins as they can easily get between screen and cover and possibly cause the damage to the screen. Otherwise i recommend it to everyone!
Could you tell me, that the back cover of s-view is the same as the normal S4 back cover ? Or It's thicker ?

Just compared both of them and s-cover seems a bit thicker than original, but at the same time it`s more solid and doesn`t bend that much as original does. Once you inert S4 into S-cover the difference is almost invisible and phone looks and feels very thin, take my work for it. Hopefully it hepled you to make decision.

Before you go and buy the White KLD "Smart wake Cover on ebay you may want to read this.
Hi guys
So i bought the KLD and waited almost a month for this to be delivered.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/KLD-Smart-W...Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&var=&hash=item19dbff2bbc
Ill be honest its not the worst case in the world but far from how nice it seems in the pictures. The build quality is "ok", it seems to offer decent protection and it has access to everything including the SD card and SIM. The stand seems to work ok too
Now for the bad.
Its CLEARLY not white. Check the pics I have put up next to my white phone case and the white N5100 Its more of a cream or beige . Also it doesnt have Smart auto wake like advertised. Not too worried about this as i know magnets are supposed to be bad for your device or something. The coating that is holding the flap on thats been applied to the plastic back cover has not been put on well. Looks quite cheap and old. The case comes really close to the S Pen so me with very short finger nails, its really hard to access it and trying to press the volume and power button is a real mission. The flap covering the screen moves around a bit too I wouldnt recommend this case to anyone really. I wont be using it for long, waiting for Samsung to get the original book cases in. I would give this case a 3 out of 10

The 360 Rotating Case with auto sleep is much the same as this from amazon
http://www.amazon.com/Fintie-Degree...9&sr=8-7&keywords=galaxy+note+8+case+rotating
The case isnt too bad, you have better access to your S Pen however u dont have access to your SD and SIM slot. The front flap is quite thick so its adds a bit of bulk to the device and a bit of weight too. Its really easy to rotate the device when its in the case so when u are using it in landscape mode it can move around really easy. It seems to add quite a bit of protection to the device and the auto sleep wake feature works even if you close it when your device is upside down. The viewing mode in portrait is a lot more slanted than in landscape and is not as stable but its seems to hold it ok. You can also use the strap used to keep the flap closed as a hand strap. I would give this case a 6 out of ten.
Shout if you want any more pics or info.
I have the samsung book cover and I hate it. Its cheaply made and I dont like the positions it allows me to hold the device in. Also, it takes a minimalist approach and basically just clips on the corners of the device. For $50 I expected more.
I recently ordered this off amazon and like it much better. Many more colors to choose from and the pen is easily accessible. It may only cost and $8 and some change but its worth atleast double that. I also got a screen protector from moko with good quality as well.

Does the samsung book cover have magnets that keep the flap closed if held upside down?
No, and that is just another reason to hate it. It does have the sleep! Wake function but because its not secured by anything while you carry it or heck when the wind blows to hard the lid can move which wakes the device. The one I listed above has a magnet built into the plastic lip and a small metal piece on the cover that secures it in place. It is secure and doesnt come in contact with the screen so it wont damage it.

Hello there, I saw a thread about full screen protectors and thought I would take pictures and share pictures of my Edge + Skinomi screen protector + carbon fiber combo. I was waiting for a full glass screen protector but I highly doubt that is coming out any time soon so I settled for Skinomi which I hate because I hate these "gummy/orange peel textured" screen protectors. Plus I am against wet applications (I'm an Assistant Manager at T-Mobile and I've seen water damaged devices due to wet application screen protectors) but unforunately this time around this is currently the ONLY screen protector that covers the full screen other than the ZAGG ones which are way overpriced compared to what I got. This combo cost me $16 after shipping and taxes. Anyways, I got bored and I thought I would share with you (amateur photo taking skills) photos of my T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. I'm still waiting for the Flip Case to be back on sale on Samsung's website so I can use my 50% promotion code.
P.S. I might just return my Edge and get the Note 4. The Edge seems to lag too much plus it's wider than the Note 4 which makes it harder to hold and there's absolutely no case for this thing. But we'll see, I still got a couple more days.

Looks cool, I put the Skinomi shield on mine, at least till they start making a glass shield for them. I haven't tried the Note4 so I don't know if it's has less lag. My S5 has less lag that this one. But I like the uniqueness of the Edge. And love the side panel.

I plan on wrapping mine as well. With the damage I am seeing other people getting from the protective cases I'm wrapping it first and then putting it in the case.
Any lag will disappear with a future performance update, but if you aren't a patient person the Note 4 is not a downgrade by any means.
Lag I can deal with, seen worse. Waiting on updated with different launchers to see.

Disable as much as you can and enable developer options and set it to.5 transitions. It helps a ton. Also disable s voice especially as a double tap ok the home button, it waits to see if you are double tapping home with it enables and makes it feel laggy.

I got rid of my Note Edge about 2 weeks ago. I really love my new Note 4. No lag what so ever. I guess what I was referring to was the lag in texting. I tried switching out the keyboard to Google's stock keyboard and there was still lag. Basically whenever I text (I text really fast), it wouldn't register every 3 letters so sometimes the words do not get spaced apart and gets combined into a big jumbo mess that auto correct can't even correct and it ends up looking like gibberish. IT COULD have been the Skinomi screen protector affecting the touch sensitivity but I highly doubt it because they do make screen protectors for other phones as well and I have not seen any other complaints. I also found the second screen to be cool at first but completely useless after 24 hours of using it as it didn't do me any good so with my new Note 4 I get more screen estate and a bigger battery. Overall I'm happy.
So this is my "old" Z-Flip-3 phone, which has been decently well used, but the hinge is still solid. And as you can see, it holds in place even at extreme angles.

However my new Z-flip-4 will only hold in place from about this angle -
Anything more 'open' than this, and it just falls fully open under its own weight. But it will hold at any angle more 'closed' than this.
Now... I'm not sure if I'd ever actually use the screen at a greater angle than this (other than fully open) as I would usually have it open either at 90deg or 45deg (which still just about works) so if this is just how the new hinge is, then that's probably fine. But I'm concerned I have a duff hinge, in which case I'd need to get it replaced sharpish in the hopes they even have stock still!

My Flip 4 will hold open as per your Flip 3 in the top photo.
However I've noticed when clamped shut there is a little bit of play before any resistance when opening which is opposite to my Flip 3.

Mine has no looseness when closed.
Though wierdly... it doesn't always have looseness when fully open either lol. It's now more like my flip3. Maybe it was some oil still working into the mechanism or something.
It seems like if I open it from closed, it's tighter maybe. If I try and do it when fully open and partly close it, it'll just spring back open.
Will monitor.

I too find the Flip4 holds at just about this same angle. I wouldn't say the hinge feels lose... you still can't flip open the phone like you're on Star Trek. The hinge still has a rock-solid feel to it, as well.

There's no wobble or anything, loose is a bad term but I don't know the right one. But if I open it from closed, it does now stick at most angles. It's just if I close it slightly from fully open... it'll just spring back to open. Usually.
Still seems totally fine.

Z Flip 1 5G, in the official name, there was no generation number. And it can be flipped open with one hand which is quite convenient.
