Hi,
I tried to do following steps:
1. Install last LineageOs as they say in their web site
2. Then I tried to install twrp recovery. I downloaded lastest version form here https://eu.dl.twrp.me/enchilada/
3. I tried to install it using:
fastboot flash boot twrp-3.6.0_11-0-enchilada.img
And It stucked on twrp logo... Just infinitelly.
If I restart in fastmode, this logo is shown, if I restart in recovery, this logo again. If I try to restart from lineage, this logo. Nothing happend and I can't do fastbode devices neither adb devices.. Only different screen I can see is this one that says the bootloader is unlocked and "PRESS POWER KEY TO PAUSE BOOT"
Have I bricked my new phone?
Thanks in advance
Also if I enter into fastboot mode (power + volume up) and I do fastboot devices I got no answer
Googling for a while I arrived to the [B]MsmDownloadTool V4.0.exe[/B]
I'm trying this

Waiting to download and trying to get a windows mahine. BTW, i found this linux scripts to
Restores OnePlus 6T Fajita to Oxygen OS 9.0.17 on a Linux PC using bash and fastboot
I managed to fix it!!
Following first link tutorial, I executed MsmDownloadTool V4.0.exe. However it brings me the error Sahara Communication Failed. Please try again after power off the phone. So I tried to change the cable to a non USB 3.0 and well, I dont know how but doing volume up + volume down + power on It entered to the fastboot mode so I flash the lineage recovery and... It boots again!
:') I'm happy

I tried to install TWRP and i got stuck in crashdump mode. I tried to get into recovery through fastboot mode. But i am now stuck on fastboot and can't get into anything else. Adb is not recognising any devices either, even though my phone is connected to my mac.
Try using msm download tool... Search on xda for unbrick guide oneplus 6 or msm download tool oneplus 6 and follow the instructions.
Hi there,
I was on android 10, and decided to use Potato Open Sauce Project.
I tried to boot twrp with "fastboot boot twrp-3.3.1-1-guacamoleb.img" and that's what i get :
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 1.384s]
booting...
FAILED (remote: Failed to load/authenticate boot image: Load Error)
finished. total time: 1.415s
Click to collapse
So because there is no recovery partition, i decided to flash twrp to boot with "fastboot flash boot twrp-3.3.1-1-guacamoleb.img" :
target reported max download size of 805306368 bytes
sending 'boot_b' (56612 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.405s]
writing 'boot_b'...
OKAY [ 0.262s]
finished. total time: 1.670s
Click to collapse
But now i'm stuck in the bootloader mode, whatever i select in bootloader end into bootloader (eg. start, restart bootloader, recovery mode).
Do you think my phone is completly broken ? I've never rooted, but bootloader is unlocked
Thanks by advance
Edit :
Ive tried to reflash stock rom with 10.0: OnePlus7Oxygen_14.E.20_OTA_020_all_1909172051 taken from here :
https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/oneplus-7-rom-ota-oxygen-os-repo-of-oxygen-os-builds.1048241/
Same results.
Ive also tried to use the latest twrp TWRP 3.3.1-70 Unified Unofficial Q by mauronofrio.
Exactly the same problem...
Edit 2 :
Tool All In One give the same error than manual flashing with fastboot
Edit 3 :
Solved with MsMDownloadTool, just a lot of expired tutorial that told to use volume + or volume - to boot in edl mode, while you need to use both then connect the phone to the computer.
Just for info, i used this driver :
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=6006931924117902072
msmdownloadtool you can found include something likes 5 or 6 different driver, and tutorial never say which one is the good...
Same Problem
I'm facing the same problem. I tried the 2 Edits specified, still no luck.
Regarding the 3rd Edit: I downloaded the MSM tool for OP7, pressed Vol +, Vol-, Power button together, it always takes me to the fastboot mode no matter if I connect the usb cable after pressing the buttons or not.

I'm having the same problem with my OP7T HD1900. I cannot flash into OOS using MSM because the device would never go into EDL mode by pressing vol up/down then plugging. Long pressing, holding the buttons then plugging the cable never works, just takes me to Fastboot mode. Have you resolved your EDL issue? How else can i get my OP7T into EDL mode so I can flash to Oxygen? I am on Hydrogen 10.0.7HD65 currently. Thanks to anyone who can help.

Here is my input on this since I struggled with the MSMdownloadtool as well a few weeks ago.
Press Vol (+) Vol (-) and connect the phone to the PC.
You need to connect the Device very quickly after setting it in EDL Mode and then start MSMdownloadTool otherwise
the device will just restart again after a few seconds from EDL Mode so perhaps best to start MSMdownloadTool
already before connecting the phone so that it will pick up the connection directly when it is in EDL mode.
Hope that helps!

Thanks, brother. I have just resolved my issue literally 10 minutes ago. Somebody sent me a link to an Oxygen 10.0.8 and I was able to do a local update and the phone did not go on soft brick this time. Perhaps I have downloaded an incompatible link the last time. I did not have to use MSM after all.

Hello, did you follow the instructions here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...l-to-restore-your-device-to-oxygenos.3954325/
?
Yes, MSM tools just doesn't work
Me too, I can't start this EDL mode, it just goes straight to fastboot.
I did it! I finally was able to use the EDL mode and MSM tool by using an old laptop that had USB2 ports! The laptop I was using had only USB3. After I've installed the Qualcomm drivers on the second laptop, EDL mode started as explained in the guide and MSM found it immediately.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
Just experiencing the same. I would like some help pls !
Tried LineageOS. Not stable enough on OP7 so I want to go back to OOS.
Got OnePlus 7 - 1903 model EU, so I believe it's GM57BA that I have to deal with.
Tried fastboot methods, not successful. I followed this post. Tested this on linux.
Encountered "Flashing is not allowed for Critical Partitions" even though I got :
Code:
❯ fastboot flashing unlock
FAILED (remote: ' Device already : unlocked!')
fastboot: error: Command failed
❯ fastboot flashing unlock_critical
FAILED (remote: ' Device already : unlocked!')
fastboot: error: Command failed
Device was stuck during boot (left it about an hour to try, nothing happened).
At some point I faced Qualcomm Crashdump Mode Screen.
Now I think the only option is to go for MSM method but not available for linux, so I switched on windows.
Instructions on this post seem pretty clear but when I plug the phone on PC, device is not recognized, don't know why I can't install phone driver properly (but probably not important at this stage).
Qualcom drivers are installed but I can't get my phone to boot on "EDL mode" ?
vol - and vol + while shutting down/powering on the device, plugged/unplugged to PC (tried few combos).
So device is not recognized and I can't run MSM Enum.
I have probably missed something... if anyone could give a hint on how to do that, I would greatly appreciate it.
Ok so I finally found a way to solve my issue.
Followed instructions from this video.
Basically I had to disable driver signature enforcement on my pc. This allowed me to properly boot on EDL and detect the device using MSM.
Hope this will help
Hi guys,
I think I've tried it all at this point so I'm in need of some help.
I've got the T-Mobile IN2017 version of the OP8. I wanted to get rid of the T-Mobile junk and get access to the "regular" updates.
I started with this guide: [Guide] Convert to Global [WIP]
I got my unlock token today and gave 11.0.0-GLOBAL-OnePlus8Oxygen_15.O.30_OTA_0300_all_2010031624_c5e68b42b3325-FASTBOOT a shot. When it booted into Rescue Mode I assumed something had gone wrong so I told it to wipe everything and I figured I'd start over. I realized this was probably a good thing because I had neglected to backup anything.
I used instantnoodlet_15_O.16_201001 to reset. I couldn't get the volume up + volume down combination to work at all so used adb to reboot in edl. All went well.
I then re-unlocked the bootloader, flash booted into twrp-3.3.1-test10-instantnoodle-unified-mauronofrio.img and made some backups.
I installed the latest Magisk (changing .apk to .zip) within TWRP, and used adb shell to make a backup of my persist.img
I went back to 11.0.0-GLOBAL-OnePlus8Oxygen_15.O.30_OTA_0300_all_2010031624_c5e68b42b3325-FASTBOOT and ran the flash-all.bat but this time it failed and I've found myself bricked: CrashDump Mode.
I've only been able to switch betwen CrashDump Mode, off, and Fastboot. When I'm in Fastboot if I try to start or boot in recovery it just ends up back at CrashDump. If I do a hard power off and try holding volume up + down to get into edl I end up at Fastboot again as soon as I plug the usb in. The commands fastboot reboot edl, fastboot oem edl, and fastboot reboot-edl all give me errors. I can no longer flash boot into TWRP. I've tried flashing the 11.0.0 Global again but I get "Flashing is not allowed for critical partitions" and "partition not found" errors before I end up back at the CrashDump screen.
When in CrashDump it shows up in my device manager as Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 900E (COM13). When I'm in fastboot it appears as OnePlus Android Bootloader Interace. I have uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled the drivers (OnePlus_USB_Drivers_Setup, QDLoader HS-USB Driver_64Bit, androidwinusb). I'm using the latest Platform Tools. I am in test mode and I have turned off driver signature.
I only have two USB 3.0 ports and I don't have access to another Windows PC. I have used three different USB cables, including the OnePlus original, in both ports. I have taken off my phone case to make sure nothing is interfering with me pushing volume up + down. My thumb hurts from pressing it so much. I've done this dozens of times now. No EDL.
I'm at a loss. Someone please help me!
Edit: I've tried using the All-In-One-Tool but it says reboot to EDL doesn't work because I'm in fastboot and trying to boot into the latest twrp still just sends me back to CrashDump.
Solved!
I came across this twrp guide: [TWRP][3.6.0-11-b7][instantnoodle]TWRP for OnePlus 8/8Pro ][OFFICIAL][BETA] and unlike the other I had used, this one didn't warn against flashing and only booting. I flashed the img for twrp-op8-3.6.0_11-infected-b4 to recovery_a and recovery_b and booted into recovery. At first it just said I was in fastboot, it didn't give me all the usual twrp options, and the only buttons were to reboot and to switch between fastboot and adb (which did nothing, it stayed in fastboot). I tried to reboot to edl and ended up back at the fastboot screen. From here I tried again to boot into recovery and this time I got all the usual twrp options. I rebooted into edl and was able to successfully unbrick with the 10.5.7 MSM. Flashed the global 10.5.7 MSM and I'm set. Updated to A11 and everything is groovy!
Hi All!
I am in a bit of an unfortunate situation, and am also not that knowledgeable with Android.
I want to recover data on my phone, I would be happy with just recovering the photos.
My Oneplus 8T currently gives me a Quallcom crash dump error when trying to boot. I am also able to go into Fastboot mode with the power button + volume up/down.
Just now, I tried booting the device to TWRP recovery. I first installed Google usb driver, then updated the driver of my Oneplus 8T in device manager. I installed a TWRP recovery image of a Oneplus 8T and put that file where I downloaded Google platform tools. I then ran 'fastboot devices' and saw my device. However, after running 'fastboot boot twrp.img', I received the error 'boot is not allowed in Lock state'.
I cannot remember if USB debugging is enabled or not. I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me out as online articles have been quite useless and also very confusing.
Try fastboot getvar all then do fastboot set_active to either a or b depending on which partion you are on you want to change it also pretty sure USB debugging doesn't matter in bootloader you can also try fastboot oem unlock to unlock bootloader to boot twrp unless you updated to oos twrp doesn't work yet
No no no no.
you have loaded dynamic system image = Super image with incorrect.
Go to this link https://onepluscommunityserver.com/list/Unbrick_Tools/OnePlus_8T/
And choose your union and version you want.
Download better driver https://onepluscommunityserver.com/list/Unbrick_Tools/Qualcomm drivers.7z
Now you can use the MSM download troll and get your phone back. Install driver and unzip MSM. Start MSM with admin. Select download mode in MSM. Now press power and vol - and vol + at the same time. Your PC will see a new device. Your phone screen is black. Start MSM and wait for it to finish. Google Translate.

With MSM he will get everything wiped on his device. This is not he is intending to do.

Run fastboot flash recovery twrp.img ... And then fastboot reboot recovery or choose recovery on your phone.
Sometimes holding volume up and power to do a soft reset boots back into system worth a try.
