Hello everyone.
My wife ang I just bought the GT 3 watch (46 & 42 mm), we bought them in Mexico and we are using it in the US (we live close to the border) we are trying to install apps or watch faces but on either of the watches the app gallery and the watch face option is missing. I go to the Health app (from videos that I watched) and the options to change the faces or install apps aren't there, is it just because we are in the US we cannot use the app gallery? I had the same issue and finally managed to get access to the watch faces and apps. It was a somewhat involved process but not too difficult, not requiring a rooted phone or even developer options. See my description in the thread at https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/extra-watch-faces-for-the-gt3.4452459/. I hope it helps. (I used a OnePlus 8 Pro as well.)

I have made a new app, which is waiting for Samsung approval at the moment, so it might take some days before available in the Samsung Apps Store.
The app is called "GearSpyCam", you can use it to control your phone camera using your Gear2 smartwatch:
====> The old app name was Gear2Cam, but the name has changed to GearSpyCam starting July 15.
+ preview the image from the phone camera on your Gear2 smartwatch
+ take (save) a picture in the phone gallery
+ use Spy-mode to have a new picture preview every 3 seconds.
+ use Spy-mode on the phone, to make the screen black, but still taking (preview) pictures.
The app consists of two parts, a phone part (android apk) and a Gear2 part (Tizen wgt), when installing the android app,
it will automatically install the gear2 part. It should show up in the Samsung Apps store, as soon as it approved.
It will not be free, it is a paid app, I set the introduction price to $1.
Depending on your way of purchase the price may very slightly.

It's not yet in the Samsung Apps-store; it's waiting for approval by Samsung!

I have no idea, I guess the Samsung apps in gear manager because it is a gear related app. We will see.

I think it wouldn't be a problem, but I only have a Gear2 Neo and I don't feel like buying another gear.

I agree, that would maybe be even more useful.
But I only own a NEO (no camera), so I can not test it. And without testing, its very hard to make a working app
Maybe it this version is downloaded enough I can buy me a gear2 with camera (or a gear1 with camera) from the revenue.
It must all be economically justified if you know what I mean.

First version of app was rejected today, because of a crash of the phone part of the app.
Fixed it and resubmitted an update.
Test report from Samsung are impressive, not only the error logs, but also videos with a tester showing the problem.

i have just bought a S3 and i paired it with my iPhone 7
it's works pretty fine but i miss mail, reply to sms and so on.
so i looked into the app store and there are nearly Nothing in there..
i tried to connect the Watch to the honor 7 of my gf and there i can get much more apps!! like working hue apps, email, more faces and so on.
how can i get all this app from iPhone? and why the store is different? the device is the gear and not the phone !
i tried to download it from the honor then reconnect it to my iPhone but it restores the Watch before pairing and i don't know why but apps i downloaded from the honor doesn't appear in the "my apps" section on the galaxy app store from the iPhone
any idea how to solve this problem?

This problem cannot be solved from your side.
The problems are:
1. Some apps require a companion app, which only available on Android, in order to work. iOS will probably not have these as Samsung does not provide any SDK for devs to work on.
2. Samsung use manual filter for apps. A filter is like this: Gear S3 & iOS devices, S7 Edge & S3 BT and so on. If apps do not include this filter, they won't show up on your device. You can ask devs to include this filter if the apps are standalone.

Same problem. I asked dev for advise and respond me this:
Apologies - Samsung removed the Companion App for WatchMaker from Galaxy Apps Store.
This was due to Samsung requiring a change in our business model so that we should sell watches on the Samsung platform, as well as on Google and Apple.
We are working closely with Samsung to get this resolved as soon as possible and have already submitted a new version for Samsung to review.
Once the new version is approved, it will work exactly the same as the current version and will not force any additional purchases.

Guys I don't get it. I had an LG watch in 2014. I was very happy with watchmaker and there were even bigger communities for watchfaces. All faces were free from the community, very few were priced. I installed the samsung gear watchmaker app (3 swiss francs), and most of the faces cost 1 franc (just the same as on the galaxy app store). Am I missing something? If I buy the premium app (4 swiss francs) from the google play store, do I get all the paid watchfaces for free or how does it work?
Paid Watchmaker app is just to possibility use infinite faces in the app, not to have infinite paid faces free

Do you know if it would address the problem of the list of watch faces not appearing when the phone is operated in the U.S.? I.e., do you have to be able to show the current watch faces in order to handle a custom watch face?

It doesn't work for me in the US either. I've tried spoofing my location, and using a VPN to look like I'm in Hong Kong, all without any luck. I would very much like to have custom watch faces! I even lost one that I liked that came with the watch, I forget it's name, but even after a factory reset it doesn't come back.

I was finally able to get the watch face and app galleries to appear in the Huawei Health app on my phone in the U.S. and have been able to install many different watch faces, both free and paid, on my watch. I wrote up my experiences in this thread. Basically what is required is to create your Huawei account in a supported country while suppressing any indications that you're actually in the U.S. As I said in that thread, I'm not sure exactly what the Huawei software checks to determine where you are, so the factors I mentioned may be overkill - I suspect, but haven't verified, that the key was removing my U.S. SIM card and rebooting before going through the installation and registration - but they did work, and having access to the thousands of watch faces in the Huawei gallery was definitely worth the effort I put into it. This ver also helped me get connected to watch as all the other versions I couldn't connect if I did they lost connection within a hour or more, thanks for the app ver.
