Need Help with At&t Note 20 Ultra - Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Questions & Answers

I just purchased a used Note 20 Ultra that was originally for At&t and unlocked, I am using it with my T-Mobile sim and all works fine. I am little concerned as the UI is 3.1 and Android Version is 11 and it says software is up to date, is this correct?
Before I purchased it I also requested Unlock code from At&t and they sent the Unlock code which is weird since it is already Unlocked .....Maybe I am just being paranoid.
The imei on the phone matches the imei on the back of phone and shows all clear on swappa imei.
So the question is how can I tell is any software/fw was altered on this device to Unlock it early?
*#1234# shows the following versions:
AP: N986USQS2DUH3
CP: N986USQS2DUH3
CSC: N986UOYN2DUH3
Model: SM-N986U
I have installed Phone Info+ (SAM) in case anymore info is required to help with this
Thank you in advance for any help.

I think that I'm in the same boat. I received a insurance replacement phone that was unlocked, but I think that Geek Squad had to get an unlock code to get it to work on Tmobile. My phone has never been updated. It's still on the software that it shipped with. My old phone had the black screen of death, and I'm trying to flash a more recent version of Android with Odin. What's your baseband version?

My Baseband version is N986USQS2DUH3

Need to unlock SIM

I have a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000M which has the SIM locked to Bell Canada.
Firmware: 2.3.3
Baseband Version: I9000UGKG3
Kernel Version : 2.6.35.7-I9000UGKG3 [email protected] #2
Build number: GINGERBREAD.GKG3
I have tried flashing a half dozen to a dozen different ROMs using the latest version of ODIN and following the given procedures. None of them have led me to getting the SIM lock removed. They either brick my phone, or just leave it still SIM locked to Bell Canada. Fortunately the download function continues to work and I have been able to get the phone unbricked by applying I9000UGKG3_I9000BMCKG3_BMC, or I9000UGKG3_I9000BMCKG3_VMC. One doubt that I have is whether I am identifying the correct ROM files from this XDA web site.
Could someone direct me to the right files and procedures for getting this phone SIM unlocked so that I can use my SIM from Public Mobile?
Thanks sincerely.

Can I change firmware's on a Verizon S10e?

So i bought a s10e Verizon unlocked from a private seller. I use it on t-mobile. Previous phones I have used that were unlocked would change the boot logo and have the carrier specific apps. This s10e doesn't do that. So im guessing the seller i bought it off of unlocked by 3rd party means. So I was wondering if i would be able to flash the unlocked firmware to get rid of the carrier bloated apps and the bootlogo. I am aware that i can disable the apps but the bootlogo i do not enjoy. My baseband version is G970USQU2ASF6. The Firmware i would go to would be from the model G970U1.
Thanks for any input.
I have diff. Links to bootlogos but none of them are 10e, they are all s6 edge,s6, s7,s8,s9

I've done exactly what you are describing. My 10e was a Verizon but unlocked device, so on T-Mobile, I had the Verizon start-up logo and occasional reminders that I was not using a Verizon SIM card. I flashed the U1 firmware from Samfirm and it's been fine ever since.. Receives OTA updates and works like all unlocked phones should. See the above link for guidance.

Refurbished Galaxy S8+ running Note 8 firmware?? I just want to flash my firmware...

Hi everyone. I have a Galaxy S8+ that I bought on BackMarket a year ago. The phone has been great, but has always had problems with some phone calls going straight to my mailbox for no reason, texts not coming in then suddenly working if I send OUT a text. After some research and contacting my provider (United States, Ting), I was told that this is because I need to enable VoLTE. My phone didn't have the option to do so and when I called Ting again, I was told that this is because my phone was the International version and VoLTE wasn't supported on that model.
I thought that was the end of it, but this week I had the thought that maybe this is a firmware thing instead of a hardware thing. Calling Ting again, they checked my IMEI and said my phone should be able to do VoLTE. Great! All I needed was Odin and the right firmware (I was thinking G955U1, TMB). So here's where things get weird. As I started to set up for flashing my firmware, I gathered the following info:
IMEI.info says I have:
Model: G955F Galaxy S8+ (SM-G955N)
Here's the info I get when running the "Phone INFO ★SAM★" app.
Phone Model: SM-N950F / Galaxy Note 8
Firmware's CSC Code: XEF
Bootloader Version: G955NKSU3CRI3
PDA Version: N950FXXS5DSC6
CSC Version: N950FOXM5DSC1
Latest Firmware: N950FXXSDDTJ1
If I'm reading this right, it looks like I've had a Galaxy S8+ running Note 8 firmware? At this point, I'd still like VoLTE, but even moreso, I'd like to just know what's going on and what I should do about it.
Seems like somebody installed a modded Samsung firmware on your phone. Check download mode for KNOX, I think it will be tripped (0x1).
If it is tripped then no Samsung Pay and stuff that depends on KNOX. If you are fine with that and just want to get VoLTE working, download the right firmware for your device and flash it to stock. If stock everything is important to you, I suggest contacting the seller on BackMarket and getting a refund or something if the seller didn't specify tripped KNOX.
BTW, if I remember correctly G955N is the Samsung direct model sold in Korea, so depending on CSC and what not VoLTE might not work. Best of luck
Thanks for the reply.
So I ended up solving this with the help of a few people over on Reddit. Here's what was going on and what the solution was, for others that come across this.
The phone was running v6 of HadesROM. I guess the creator of HadesROM uses the Note8's OS build as his base for the Note8/S8/S8+, which is why the phone was showing up as an N950F. And the phone itself was a G955N, which is a Korean model.
At the direction of a few people on Reddit, I used TWRP to re-flash with the newest version of HadesROM and set the Firmware CSC properly to a US Carrier.
When the phone booted back up, the VoLTE setting was present in quick settings and works great.

What can I do with a SM-S515DL Tracfone device?

Hello everyone, I've been looking for some information about this Galaxy a51 (which I think it's a US version and I'm outside US) with the following features:
Model number: SM-S515DL
Android Version: 11
One UI version: 3.1
Baseband version: S515DLUDU8CUK1
Kernel version: 4.14.113-22754548
Service provider software version: SAOMC_SM-S515DL_TFN_TFV_RR_0015 TFV/TFV/TFN
Software update info version: S515DLUDU8CUK1 / S515DLTFN8CUK1 / S515DLUDU8CUK1
Security patch level: October 1, 2021
I got it from Amazon and it says it's a CDMA device, of course it is network locked and it's showing the invalid SIM card message. So I got a couple of questions hoping you can share your comments:
1. Is it possible to do a stock firmware flash and get rid of carrier content and locked SIM?
2. Can I use galaxy firmware.com files to do so? I see there is a S515DLUDU8CUK1 version with different region, if so which region to pick?
3. or maybe is it possible to do it by installing a custom ROM?
4. Could the z3x or octoplus unlock network? (I can't get the unlocking PIN or region screen)
There are still a lot of things to learn, unfortunately I saw there is not much info for this model on forum sections. I found mostly information for A515F and other variants of a51, could I just use them? is there any risk? Beyond the unlocking network I'd really like to try a custom rom and get rid of all the stuff it comes with.
Greetings!
Yeah, eveything should be possible, but you must change you language manually after setup, when you flash a different Firmware from another country or another region. If you flash a new Firmware you also should be able to unlock your bootloader and then you habe the Go for flashing every Rom you want. With a different Rom or Firmware you should be able to get rid of Carrier content etc.
Okay so far I've been using it as an offline device and it is just fine. I am waiting for SamKey to release the network unlock since it only supports binary 3 and below. I dunno which other software supports binary 8. My bootloader is locked it does not show up at developer options.
Anyway I am just playing games on it, watching videos and surfing the net with wifi. Just like they say if it's not broken don't fix it. I will just wait until this device gets more support and then I'd probably try roms and other stuff.

Not sure if it will get much support being from 2019. I'm not an expert with Androids but bought same models from Tracfone and with 60 days after activation they were eligible for unlock. They took IMEIs and sent email with two codes in it (different based on IMEI because for two of my devices they were different). after punching number it brought up the device unlock menu and after the two codes were entered got messages that they're unlocked. worked with different sim without an issue afterwards. Its currently up to Android 12 UI 4.1 as far as official updates.

Question I have an unlocked AT&T Galaxy S21+ outside of the US. If I flash a different firmware(USA - USC) with a different CSC, will I be able to receive OTA

Hello, I would like to preface this by saying that I don't actually live in the US. I got this used unlocked AT&T Galaxy S21+ a few months back and an issue I noticed after using it for a while was the fact I was not receiving any OTA updates due to the fact I was not using an AT&T SIM card.
Now I want to switch AT&T to carrier-free firmware where I will be able to get regular OTA updates automatically
My current specs:
Model: SM-G996U
chip: Snapdragon 888
Baseband version : G996USQU1ATLF
CSC : G996UOYN1ATLF
AP/CP : G996USQU1ATLF
Is it suitable for installation?
https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/g.../SM-G996U/USC/download/G996USQU5CVDB/1640229/
N.B/: May doing this flash will brick or damage my phone?
On SamMobile, underneath my device model, there list of several firmware labeled with different US carriers. As long as the firmware I flash is under the model number I have (SM-G996U), nothing should break, right?
Please suggest me firmware. I want to get rid of carrier barrier and want to get regular updates automatically safely.
Did you try the rom? I have the same problem
OTA is CSC based. You'd have to use Samkey to unlock the CSC to a unlocked US one.
Flash the u1 xaa firmware. Works on my phone in canada
I have a similar issue!
So I received a refurbished S21+, it is unlocked and all but it has AT&T bloatware and I can't update to oneui 5.0... I live in italy but this phone comes from Germany and apparently has a US AT&T firmware (SM-G996U-OYN-ATT). I was following a tutorial with odin to flash to SM-G996B with ITV, which is the italian version with android 12 and oneui 4.1.1 is it safe to do so and then get the android 13 update the standard way? Could I straight up get android 13 and oneui 5 flashing the most recent rom or is it even worse?
The other solution I thought about is that I could just get the U1 XAA, but i have U for now and I don't quite understand if it's completely risk free or not.
