Bruh... it will be better if you build one of your choice and post it in ROM forum... So that the testers may help you with some better ideas....

Bettter battery life, double tap wake up and double tap sleep, "magisk" that can help pass Googles Safteynet easily!
I see that most of ROMs for pixel 4a dont offer TWRP support to take backup, if that would work together. it would be a wonderful thing.

[Poll][Discussion] MIUI

Hello fellow XDAers,
I am waiting for MIUI 9 to drop so we can pull that into the kitchen and cook. I am going to attempt to work with the new system, I haven't ported anything after Jellybean. So with that, I wanted to see who was on-board to potentially want to try MIUI.
Two things; One - I am not saying I am for sure going to be successful, but I will try. 2; MIUI 9 release date is expected to be end of May or early June 2017.
Feel free to have a discussion of MIUI here, I will also use this thread for small updates in regards to MIUI.
--- Small Post Update ---
MIUI 9 ?
Here is a small list of features to potentially look out for in the new version of MIUI. This is a leap forward into Nougat from MIUI 8.
Multi-window support
Quick-reply from notifications
Optimised dose mode
RAM optimization
Improved data saver
Always-on VPN
Call screening feature
Dual space feature
Dual apps
I have honestly never once run a MIUI ROM. Im not quite the flashaholic i used to be (especially now, as finicky as the v20 seems to be), but i could be game for flashing it a few times to kick the tires, see how it rolls.
Am i to understand that it does not have a home screen/app drawer for stock launcher ala iOS? it does retain androids ability to change launchers?
Is there anything "must see" on MIUI? ...not so much eye candy·· I don't care about bling so much, im all about that utility.

Hello! We have all been there with the flashaholic syndrome. It's a fortunate disease ? the V20 is a unit that is quite more finicky than most, but surely not the worst.
Initially, this will be a project starting off with the 918 and working into other variants as I relearn Android and what the new systems look like. It is a launcher that emulates that of an iOS landscape. Yes, you still have all of the ability of changing launches, etc. Must "see" would be animations, style, small 'functionality' pieces like that of the battery bar rather than a battery icon and so on.
It's more or less a eye candy piece of OS rather than something slim, although it is still smaller than a factory image. More "bloated" than a aosp rom but still functions greatly under the right environment.

I'm excited to hear that, good news for our v20 , thanks on avance bro ???
I have attempted MIUI 8 but there are too many differences in the framework(MM vs N) to patch correctly. I was going to patch 9 in once it releases but if you want it you can have it.
Last time I had miui is when i ported it to the skyrocket in the jellybean era. Would love to see it again. Back when porting ROMs was simple

Collaboration is better when its on big projects. something like miui wont need a collab. Now if you do get stuck then sure ill certainly help.
Would love to have someone seriously try to get a stable Miui going. Ran it back in my old Droid X days and really enjoyed it. Good luck and I hope you can do it.

From the skyrocket era the camera was the biggest pain in the ass. Now its everything but the camera thats a pain in the ass.
Added some minor information to OP about Miui 9 itself.

Are you talking about Miui 8.2 the stable global builds?

Omirom or omni treskmod?

Im on tresk now but whats better whats the difference?
Difference is you can choose what gapps you want installed with Omni. tresk has gapps already and so on.. also you could choose not to use gapps at all and go micro g.
Another thing is Omni has support on XDA.
Ah ok cool ty

You get better performance than omni with tresk, you get some pixel UI and experience. Nearly you get omni with some added features and modifications. The Google apps included in Tresk is so minimal, and it's always updated. There is no point in gapps.
You can also use Omni recents with Omni, not available with Tresk. Red flare Kernel (tresk) also have some RZ commits (although you could easily flash red flare to Omni if you want so, I'm using Smurf though, which work best for my use). In any case, both ROMs work really good. I prefer Omni at this point, but both are stabler than OOS
I've tried them both and both are great alternatives to stock. My only issue has been battery life, nothing I've tried comes close to stock battery standby. The performance tho I feel is better so if you are willing to trade standby battery time for performance, either could be a good alternative. With that said, battery life can often be subjective so it might be in your best interest to try them each a few days and see what works for your particular set up.

For me omnitresk was one of the beat ROMs out there , the only thing keeps me away is that the notification drawer is not the same as pixel devices or other aosp based rom , is much shorter and doesn't look nice

Actually it WAS a legendary rom, many years ago, when it was full of features, tablet mode etc. In later years it was just stock rom with very few additional features.

Why custom Rom for Oneplus 6???

Hello Mates,
i flash since many year custom roms to my androind phones. Now i have a Oneplus 6 and it is o fast and have a good battery life.
Why should i flash a custom Rom to my Oneplus 6? I would like to know your opinion….
Thank you in Advance

For the same reason as on different devices. Even though OOS is probably one of the best Android flavours, there are many more UI/Performance/Battery tweaks on Havoc for example, which is probably the best custom ROM right now. If you don't want always-on-display, advanced UI tweaking, or you don't need extra features like Smart Pixels, different kind of navbars and recents layouts, you should probably stay with OOS.
They way we interact with our phone is kind of just personal preference. Different ROMs have different layouts/options. I like how when you go to recent apps with OmniTreskmod it also displays recent apps that you can quick launch.

That has nothing to do with omni treskmod though. It can be found on almost all custom roms, including Havoc OS.

My point is that we use custom ROMs to interact with our phone in different ways, and that the ROM we choose is personal preference.
With that said I've tried 4 different ROMs, Havoc included, and I didn't experience the recent/home/appdrawer interaction like treskmod uses. It's the only ROM i love to use the android pill navigation gesture with.

Pixel Experience is awesome too, regarding pill navigation !
It's my favourite, just because it's a different experience, and, to answer the OP, this is why you flash ROMs AOSP ROMs can be quite similar to one another, this one stands up from the crowd in my eyes, and it's still balzingly fast, with battery backup similar to OOS, and Pixel 3 features, love it.
In the end, i fully agree : You flash ROMs based on personal taste, to get the experience you want from your device. Be it having tons of options, performance, or something different.
Can't wait for Paranoid Android though ... Last time i used it, they were inventing Heads-Up notifications, floating windows, and Card Style recents, before Google even thought of it ... And i miss Halo, this was so ahead of it's time, just like Pie Gestures

@Gionikva is right haha, this is not specific to Treskmod, it's related to the fact it has Pixel Launcher installed as the main launcher
Pixel Experience is the same, LineageOS can be too, any ROM in fact !
But I'll agree this is awesome, and above all it's how these gestures are supposed to be used.

I use to think the same way. After flashing AOSiP I regretted not flashing a custom ROM earlier.
There is far more customizations that can be done to your phone in terms of theming and functionality. For example I can now finally long press my volume key to play the next track for a song.
Overall look and feel of the phone software is much more sleek. Animations are much smoother and it feels very polished as if I'm using a pixel. Latency appears to be great as well but I'm not the best at calculating such.
Battery life use to be bad on custom ROMs but now they're all just as good as OOS if not better. In my case it was better. I use to sometimes be at 75% left with only one hour SoT. Now I can be at almost 2 hours at that point. Same kernel on both.
Overall for me personally it completely enhanced every little thing about the phone. It's no different than what it was back in the day when it comes to reasons. Although OOS is pretty dark good as it is, not to knock it down from this post.

I've tried Pixel experience ROM and it didn't behave this way. I've also tried the xXxNoLimits ROM with Pixel Launcher enabled by default, and it also didn't have this. Strange, Pixel Experience behaves like, well, a Pixel phone ! It always had and still has the drawer integrated into the recents screen.
About xXx, it's normal. The launcher needs to also be the recents provider for the system, so either it's the system main launcher, or you can use a Magisk module to change this.

Ok, thank you for your answer
When I bought the phone, I was very happy with it, because stock OOS is smooth and stable. So I just flashed magisk. After a few months I missed the features which custom rom brings, but I also wanted good camera and battery life. That's why I tried almost all ROMs and Ports for the OP6 and now I'm back to treskmod. This is definitely the best ROM in my eyes. It's very stable and smooth and battery friendly. It has the costumizations I wanted and looks like Stock Pixel. There is one update per week and that's cool. I'm a flashaholic and need at least one update in week, lol ^^

Best Android 12 custom rom for you?

Hi everyone! I'm reading aboud custom rom based on Android 12 and i'd like to understand differences between ROMS for Mi Note 10 of course.
What is you favorite custom ROM and why?
thank you very much
You have 3 to choose: Octavi, Arrow or Cipher. All 3 A12-based and smooth. Octavi most customizable, but sadly development is suspended (because the main developer halted it) and uncertain if ever be resumed. Cipher and Arrow kinda similar - closer to pure Android experience, and both still maintained. All custom ROMs for tucana struggle a bit with the camera (occasional force closes or hangs). Latest Octavi and Arrow have MIUI Camera port included, but it works far from perfect
