For some reason, overlays (such as Discord's Voice Overlay) doesn't show up, even if I enabled the "Draw over apps" setting. Is there any sort of fix to it?

I use to disable notification outside of some apps because some apps (mainly games) don't have options to disable notification.
So on the Flex 2 there is 2 way to do it, the original way in settings/applications and inside one app properties I untick the "show notification". The other way is in settings/sound and application, where you tick "none" to disable notification.
There seems not to have any conflict, having the same option in two separate location, unticking one will tick the other one.
But time to time and quite frequently, the notification come back and the disabling won't stay the way I set it. They aren't all reseted just a few and it's random.
Am I the only one to experience it?
So I don't know if this is a feature or a bug but I saw that whenever i had the keyboard open i would get a "Select input keyboard" notification (you can see it in the first image). When i open the notifications i get the dialog in the second picture.
So i went straight on disabling all the other keyboards: i disabled Swype and Google app (because of Google Vocal Typing or something like that) from the apps settings so the AOSP keyboard is the only one left (see third image) but again no luck, the notification is still there. I also tried replacing the AOSP keyboard with Google keyboard and ensuring that it was the only one active but it still didn't work. Is this standard Android behavior? Or possibly an Alcatel bug? A bug in my software? That thing is annoying as hell.

I get that dialog when I press a small button to the right of the nav bar (it only appears when the keyboard pops up). Did you try to longpress the notification and then press the "i" symbol, then disable notifications from that source?
I always get that dialog, even with only one keyboard app installed/enabled, so that's not normal.
By the way, i tried disabling the notification but since it comes from Android System itself it cannot be disabled but only set to priority mode.
It drove me crazy for a bit cause I'm a little OCD with my screen, but I just ignore it now.
Hi, I've got a Honor 6, version H60-L04, recently updated to Marshmallow, EMUI 4.0, not rooted.
At the end of the installation I noticed a problem with the apps that need permissions to access to the gallery, or the microphone, etc.
I gave'em those permissions, in the Authorizations menu in the app options but it appears an error: "Display overlay detected. To modify this setting, you need to disable the display overlay in Settings>App. Selecting "Open settings" then, I've been redirected to a menu which doesn't show neither an Overlay setting choice, nor others applications' setting choice (e.g Whatsapp, Shazam).
In the settings, there is only one overlay setting, in the section "Developer Settings": "Disable Overlay HW", but having it set or not doesn't solve my problem.
What can i do? At the moment I can't neither send nor receive pictures, audio, etc. in Whatsapp and Telegram, I can't shazam the music with the app and so on...
Hello Guys,
In my moto maxx turbo, android version 6.0.1. Yesterday got the security update. Once system updated, now am facing the screen overlay detected issue. Due to this, unable to save the photo from facebook mobile app. Followed the below steps, still facing the issue. Help me out guys ! Thanks in advance.
1.Open Settings by clicking on the gear icon in notification bar.
2.Scroll down, you’ll find the “Apps” option. Click on that.screen overlay detected step 1
3.Now click on the gear button on top right, as given in this image.screen overlay detected step 2
4.In this screen. you’ll find “Draw over other apps”, click on that.screen overlay detected step 3
5.You can alternatively find this option by searching the “Settings” menu for “Draw”. You can just click on the magnification glass icon on the top right on the Settings menu for that.screen overlay detected step 4
6.Now, in the “Draw over other apps” screen, you can see the apps which are having the Screen overlay/Draw over other apps permission.screen overlay detected step 5
7.You can click on each app and uncheck “Permit drawing over other apps”.screen overlay detected step 6
8.Now, clear the app you were trying to run from “Recents screen” and open the app again, you’ll not see the “Screen Overlay Detected” again!
9.One more step is left, that is to reactivate the screen overlays that you’ve disabled before. Just go back to the “Draw over other apps” settings from recents and recheck all the apps you’ve disabled. Else, you won’t be able to use those apps
Do you have any kind of blue filter app or something? Any kind of app like that also causes the overlay problem.
The problem is malware will overlay your screen with a "transparent" layer to tapjack your approval or to steal banking account information. So, the overlay warning is to protect you, even if you don't see the screen overlay.
You have to disable anything causing the screen overlay -- whether malware or even legitimate apps.

Thanks for reply ! I have uninstall Drupe and Touch master app , that cause this screen overlay issue !
People, I switched to miui with emui and was already tortured with these settings.
Tell me how to disable these window overlays in notifications?
There is no such problem with WhatsApp, but with standard messages and Telegram.
Is it some kind of broken floating window or something?
They seem to look different - with rounded corners.
And here is some kind of crap in the form of a floating shortcut that can be expanded by a third of the screen.
And this is a square mini window with a human face. Very annoying.

In settings, go in "Notifications & Control Center", "Notification shade", and chose Android instead of MIUI.
As well, for disabling the "pop up" windows, go in the notification settings of the app and disable "Floating Notifications"

Even this seems to not work for the Google Android Messages app, disabled the floating notifications for the app and set the shade to Android instead of MIUI but still no luck.
