Best App to Backup Phone - General Questions and Answers

I apologize in advance. I haven't had the time to search the forums, but what is the best way to back up everything on a Samsung s10+ that has NOT been rooted?
My wife decided to trade in her old s10+ for an iPhone (I know). I've been extremely busy and need to get this phone sent back, but I don't want to lose anything (calendar, contacts, sms/mms, app data (if possible), etc.--as much as I can save). I've already copied all of the files to my pc through USB.
Thanks in advance for the help!

A full backup is done by means of so-called Online-Nandroid-Backup what requires phone's Android is rooted and USB-debugging is enabled on phone.

Back up for Samsung Galaxy Ace.

I'm planning to root my sister's Galaxy Ace but she wants to save every message, picture and contact she has on her phone. I searched it in google, but it seems that Kies only backs up the contacts and bookmarks. Can anyone help tell me what applications should I use to back up everything else?
In addition, can anyone point me to the most reliable guide in rooting Samsung Galaxy Ace?
Thanks!
I can see that nobody else has replied to your Q but wondered whether you had managed to find out from any other sources how to make a full back-up of the Ace as I want to do this myself too ???
As you say, Kies backs up almost nothing.
I can copy the micro-SD myself but I want to copy all the settings, etc. so that I can restore them to my replacement Ace (I want to take back to shop as it constantly freezes and switches off)
I still haven't found any solution to our problem yet. I hope someone's gonna pass this thread who is knowledgeable enough to help us.
You can download GO SMS Pro from the Android Market to backup your texts, contacts are usually backed up automatically with your Google account. With GO SMS, you choose Menu>Settings>GO SMS Services>Backup and Restore.
Photos are on the SD card, shouldn't need to worry about them.
Once rooted, you can make a nandroid backup with ROM Manager.

Hey you just wanna root your device........you can do this with super one click.
No back up is necessary as it will not remove any file or setting of your use.

to root?

I have had the unfortunate experience in using samsung kies to backup my sgs2 bought in June '11 to upgrade the latest firmware too then realise the kies backup didn't work.
However, before I did the kies backup I copied the entire phone hhd to my pc, just incase.
When I realised the kies backup didnt work, I wasn't disheartened, as I have the info on my pc, right.. well no, as the files (data) I had copied, all of it won't go back to the sgs2 hhd (internal memory).
Can anyone advise?
Also, I now have the latest sgs2 firmware on my sgs2, I read the only way to backup the entire contents of the phone is to root it and use something such as titanium or nanroid.. yet I haven't got a clue what any of these are, or what customs ROM'S are.. is there a newbie site a read I can view to understand what the different ROMS do, and what will be better for my needs, also the most effective way to root my sgs2, as I don't want to brick it, I have read that you can root/unroot it using certain software, this would be good if there is one for the sgs2? as this would allow me to switch between the two, if anything went wrong etc or if I sold the phone.
Can anyone in layman's terms help, advise or guide me.
It would be appreciated, as my need to root is simply to do a full phone backup; once I've sorted out how to get all my data back to the sgs2 (
thanks
smash
ok as I have had little reply to my posting I went ahead and succesdfully rooted my sgs2.
Now I've completed a titanium backup, how can I verify that 'all' my phone's data has been backed up? as I don't later want to find that it didn't work or missed items.
I'm thinking of backup my phone to pc and then using restore to prove it, or is there an easier way?
Now that I'm rooted what ROM's are popular currently? I'm after faster web browsing, better battery life, and for google to sync my calander (completely).
The latter is a problem I've had for about a week; google won't sync my entire calander to droid. I've read a lot and it seems I'm not alone in this; yet I've tried all the work arounds, and still nothing.
Any advice?
Also, if I factory reset my device, will I have to root my sgs2 again? (I had done this prior to rooting and still didn't help google calander sync afterwards, it would only sync 1 month's worth of prior events).
Thanks in advance.

Help with exchanging phones & moving apps + data+ everything from device to the other

Help with exchanging phones & moving apps + data+ everything from device to the other
Helo there, I have a Galaxy S4 gti-9505 and i want to exchange it for a Nexus 5 ( for obvious stock Android reasons)
I haven't exchanged it yet and i'm trying to save all of my data on the s4 on my computer (or cloud storage if it's possible) until I get the nexus sometime in the next couple of weeks. Note : i won't have both phones at the same time. Also i'd like to point out that my galaxy s4 is rooted while i'm not sure whether the nexus will be rooted or not (most likely not).
Any suggestions or advices on exchanging from owners of both phones are more than welcome.
Without both being rooted, Helium is an option.
With root on both , titanium backup can't be beat.
Just backup and transfer the backup folder to pc. Once your new device is setup, install the appropriate app and transfer the backup to phone.
Of course we're talking only user apps and data. ?
Titanium Backup is the way to go. For call logs and sms there are programs too. Search and you will find them.

[DISCUSSION] Root safety, phone migration solutions & alternatives to Titanium Backup

[DISCUSSION] Root safety, phone migration solutions & alternatives to Titanium Backup
So, I've finally received a shiny and new S8 (Exynos).
And quickly enough, I searched XDA & Google to see if there's a stable root solution.
The main reasons I'd like root (& TWRP recovery) for are:
Topmost priority: to properly migrate my apps & data from my current phone (S6) using Titanium backup, so I can start using the new one as my main device.
Giving me the option to choose a custom ROM, when/if I'll find the right one for me.
You can never know when you'll need an app that requires root access.
Having the option to always have a full image backup of the entire device (TWRP).
Debloating the device by freezing/removing unwanted apps (freezing them with Titanium Backup)
I remember that I had to root my device in order to record phone calls (which is very important for me) - I'm not even sure what its like with the S8, but this could also be a reason to root.
After reading, and watching several videos, I understand that there are quite a few things to be worried about:
The chance of bricking your device, as the current rooting solution is immature (Is it? this one scares me the most)
Losing secure folders/Samsung Pay/Samsung Health, etc. (I'd hate to lose Secure Folders - but I'm sure that I can find alternative solutions, I'd prefer not to lose Samsung Pay & Samsung health, but I can live without them).
Losing warranty - not even sure if that's true, read here: https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/...iphone-rooting-android-does-not-void-warranty (Although I can live without the warranty, always rooted my phones while knowing I'll lose warranty).
I also read this discussion: https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS8/comments/6bgu7n/psa_do_not_attempt_to_root_your_s8s8/
Since I really want to migrate to the new phone, I've looked for options to safely copy the data without having root:
CloneIT: Didnt migrate the apps' data.
Helium: Apps were backuped, but couldnt restore them. many of my apps are not supported by Helium.
Smart Switch: Not even sure if it can migrate apps' data or not, but unfortunately - it didnt even run properly on my S6, once installed - there's a splash screen coming up, that vanishes after couple of seconds. I've read posts of other users complaining about this very same behavior. couldn't find a solution to make it run. it works find on the S8.
I googled, and found that there are a bunch of companies that sell complete migration tools (that require PC/Mac), did anyone check any of these, and can share a honest review?
None of them is free for use/download.
Here are some that I've found (there are more out there):

I've always rooted my phones, so being root-less is a bit new to me. should I just take the chance and root it?
Both Android and TouchWiz are quite mature now, allowing us to enjoy a smooth and slick operation - when combined with the powerful hardware the S8 is equipped with, right out of the box.
What are your reasons for rooting?
How did all of your migrate your phones? started everything from scratch?
If not - how did you migrate from your previous phone?
Is the current rooting solution safe enough? And if its not - and we'll wait until a 'safe' rooting solution is out - how can we keep our apps & data continuously (in my case: S6--> Non rooted S8 --> Rooted S8)?
Does any of the paid solutions I listed above really work?
Would love to hear your thoughts and advises.
I rooted my phone because I would like to customize my own phone as it is mine. DriveDroid, FolderMount, Titanium Backup, smartdisk, and so on. It doesn't matter how good a phone is without root, for me, it is garbage if I cannot customize it. Get a unrootable phone just as powerful as the desktop PC, and I'll find it garbage regardless of smoothness.
Well put me down for wondering if any of these without root will restore app data....

Factory Reset - Titanium Backup still the best way to back things up?

UNROOTED!
I know titanium backup was always the best in the past but not sure if the last few years found better options for my S6 Verizon or if phones have better built-in backups. I think TB required root but i dont have that on my stupid S6 verizon. Otherwise, what other options do i have?
A guide would be appreciated, as I am afossil in the XDA world now!
I definitely want my photos/vids, my contacts (should be with google), texts, wifi/pws (thought it seems when I hit "Reset all settings" that it wiped them all, despite having "Backup to google" checked...), apps, etc all restored afterwards if possible.

Simple one I would suggest is Samsung SmartSwitch. It pretty much backsup everything.
But for example. if you have any game data stored on your device. It doesnt backup. and if it doesn't backup WhastApp chat back up data as well.
I would suggest a twrp/cwm backup is the best.
Orelse use a USB OTG pendrive to simply copy paste all the files and folders required. But you will need to restore everything
And Samsung Cloud is the best option for backup and restore as of now. For cloud services upto 15 GB after that you will have to pay for the services
