Swift Backup can backup your important data in minutes! Its quick, efficient and boasts an elegant design for a refreshing backup experience.

I tried for Call backups and it works great....... Now thinking to make my apps backup too.
I am using this backup app since long time and it is really a very good reliable app.
Hi... can anyone tell me how to restore if i have backup from Poco F3 and want to restore on K30 Pro Zoom ?
and the devices already rooted.
Because last time, i cant restore even already copy the backup folder to new device.,.. Swift backup app cannot found my backup. (offcourse with same google account)
On LineageOS 18.1 with Magisk I'm not able to backup and restore any App data
The Backup process says "Complete", but when I look at the SwiftLogger I see the following error
ApkReader: Output for file /storage/emulated/0/SwiftbBackup/... [ERROR: dump failed because assets could not be loaded]

That is probably the reason why it won't restore.
Any idea what to do or where to look?
Ps: I'm just using the local version for now.
Hi everybody,
I switched to Swift Backup from Titanium Backup, and I got lost in the labyrinth of Swift's interface. I took a backup of all my apps, then a nandroid backup with TWRP and then I switched to a different rom.
In this operation, I forgot to back up Swift's password (I wish it could be disabled), so now I'm wondering: is there a way to recover the password for Swift from the nandroid backup? Can it be found in /data/data for example?
How do I change the backup location on this Swift app ?
How do I pick a specific folder ?

A terrible directive for an advanced app. They certainly won't see my money
I'm on the Pixel 7 Pro and finally had the occasion of needing to restore my wallpaper; and it confirmed what I had feared when initially looking at it from the app -- while it was the correct picture/image, it ended up being off-center and zoomed without being able to correct it.
Anyone else having this issue? Know of a workaround or explanation?

The explanation is simple: backup apps are unreliable. They only have different limitations. Swift is no exception, as I'm finding many.
This is how you may investigate:
[Root]/data/system/users/0/wallpaper_info.xml
This file carries the wallpaper settings.
I would compare this file before and after customizing the wallpaper to memorize the differences.
Then I would back it up and immediately restore it using Swift
If there is a difference between before and after the backup, you found the cause.
Since I grew tired of relying on these backup apps, I make manual copies of these files you will see around these folders, the folders beying /data/system/, and /data/system/users/0

Besides the inability to specify the backup dir, I found another problem: Swift encrypts everything.
On titanium, one can extract the app and the data from the ZIPs. Here, I can't.
Moreover, by using apps like Solid Explorer I can make a copy of other apps, with it's clear name, icon, and ready to install (and on a more organized manner).
The only advantage over Titanium is the backup of permissions, but being that the only one, I'd remove the "best app to backup" from the title of this thread.

Is there an alternative to TiBu that will allow me to backup all my apps and data without having to select "install" and "done" for every app? I just want to have it install all my apps and not botherme with the permissions and what not, just do it.

P.S. or am I doing something wrong?
If you purchase the pro version it will fo just that.
No more being prompted to install every app

Super Manager is free from the market and you can enable silent installs on restores I believe.

Have you ever used it to restore system data? What about after flashing to a different ROM? Backing up system data with TiBu is only useful if you are restoring to the same ROM version, otherwise you get force closes that will require a reflash. I'd like something that lets me restore system data across any ROM even if it is only my contacts, BT pairings, e-mail accounts and wifi settings. That's the stuff I hate having to redo every time I flash a ROM.

I used MyBackup Pro. It does it job well.

I would just buy the pro version. Plus you get all the added functionality.
I'm sure this is mentioned somewhere else but haven't found it in the S4 forums...I was annoyed that Titanium Backup kept failing to backup my WIFI passwords...so I played around with the files and found it quite easy to back them up myself...as long as you have root access.
NOTE: Be careful whenever moving/editing/renaming anything in your ROOT directory. You can cause serious issues, including bricking your device, by making mistakes here. Be especially careful if you are on firmware MF3, with no stock image/recovery, as fixing these mistakes is significantly more difficult, if possible at all.
Anyways, use a file explorer with root support (on your rooted device...I use ES File Explorer but others are great too) and navigate to the following folder (from root): data/misc/wifi
In that folder, you will find this file: wpa_supplicant.conf
Copy that file to your MicroSD or wherever you prefer to have it.
Now, when you want to restore those passwords, simply copy that file to the same directory and overwrite the current file.
You can also open that file in windows with notepad and, while not visually pleasing, view the passwords in the text.
I hope this helps someone! I wish TiBu would fix this already...S4 is kind of popular so not sure what the hold up is. I am pretty sure there are other backup programs that having a working WIFI backup...but I didn't want to install something alongside TiBu just to do this simple functionality.

I don't recall Google backup ever restoring my wifi passwords...though it's been awhile since I did a fresh install of stock...maybe it's a custom ROM thing.
I use Titanium Backup paid version and it has ALWAYS backed up AND restored my WiFi settings/passwords with no issues. I have some WiFi passwords/WiFi routers that I connect to only seldomly like at my sisters house. And if I had forgot to run the restore while I am at my sisters house I have just opened up Tibu and restored BOTH the WiFi Access Point .XML backup and the WiFi Access Point that shows 101 next to it. And even without the recommended reboot it just worked.

Thanks for the input - not sure why some people have issues and some don't. Regarding that, best to post here:

I see what your talking about right now. The backup I showed in the screen shot is backed up from my S3. I was able to RESTORE the .XML and 101 onto my S4. BUT I just tried making a NEW BACKUP and only the 101 backup worked but the .XML version failed to backup. Weird because I can hit restore and it says it completed.
I just know I have all the different WiFi networks I have used in the past working correctly so I haven't put much thought into this with Tibu to realize its issue. So maybe use your external sdcard in another phone, set up all the WiFi networks you use, open tibu and backup them up to your external sdcard, remove the external and out it back in your S4 and then you should be golden.

Sounds like that would work too but probably easier just to backup the one file and restore it yourself
Hope everyone is having a good week so far.
I am relatively new to my Nexus 5, and loving the phone so far. I am not new to flashing roms, rooting devices, etc., but definitely not a extreme power user by any means.
The one issue I am running into is preserving a particular application, MobilePass, as I flash a new rom on my Nexus 5. By flashing I mean a clean flash (clearing system data etc). I use titanium backup (paid version), and while it will restore the APK, it does not restore the app information. Why this is a problem is the program is used to generate a VPN key, and if the token information is not preserved I have to go through this long process at work to get the VPN working again (sending access code, having infrastructure enable, etc.) Will say, I can understand if it is not possible to restore a program like this for security reasons, but figured I will ask the community.
The steps I take in running the backup in titanium:
- Going to the batch screen
- Selecting backup apps + system data
Have never tried the option to create a flashable zip.
Anyone have pointers or other backup utilities they would suggest?
Additionally, did read over: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2717159 but did not really give me anymore information than I did not already know.
Thanks for any help.
**Edit after installing helium (CM backup solution), it seems that there is an option in Android application development to not allow apk backup's. So there might not be a solution here.

Thanks for the fast reply. Are there any other backup programs you recommend?
Titanium is the best for a reason. Extremely reliable and paid version has many uses.
But just to see if your app is capable of restoring data... Try anything you find on playstore. Just backup that app. Then uninstall it. And try restore. There's "my backup root" and "Helium" . Those are the only 2 I know off hand.
Maybe try the apps website to see if you can find out if it's even possible to restore data maybe first though.

Would Smart Switch help me back and restore everything from a cracked S7 to my replacement S7??
No smart switch doesn't backup app data.
Only a Nandroid backup using TWRP custom recovery can do a true full backup
It backup my app data
So there is no such option? I am also interested but without titanium?
Only way to do a FULL backup is a nandroid backup. If you have TWRP installed do it through that.

Re: backup and transfer data
If you mean that transfer data from Android to Android, then you can try the FORecovery Phone transfer, which can help you backup and restore all of your data between different Android devices, including app data. BTW, you need to boot your phone before transfer. However, if you want to transfer the data from iPhone to Android, I afraid that you can only transfer the basic data except for app data.

Hey good job on the app there.
So since swift backup desperately needs split apk support, and since your zbackup supports it, why don't you and him team up? Make a powerful one-stop-shop backup app. People would probably pay good money for a modern app that can do it all. (I wouldn't buy it, but others might)
Yeah you should team up with him. What's his name... Chris, or something.
I'll let him know you want to join forces. I think I speak for all of us when I say that your partnership is essential to the future of rooted android backup solutions. Godspeed.
How on earth do I set the path of the backups to my external storage??? I see no option to do so when I use this app to backup my games (data + obb) into a zBackup zip file; it just automatically creates the backup onto my internal storage which means it's pretty useless if I need to restore after doing a full factory reset or installing a new rom or something that wipes my internal storage along with all the zBackups. I'm using a rooted Redmi Note 5 (whyred).
Edited: nevermind, I found how to set path to my external card but when I tested it by backing up a game then uninstalling the game through Settings app menu then using zBack zips to restore/reinstall the game from the zip backup I got an error so it's still usless to me unless someone can tell me if I'm doing something wrong. It's a shame because I really wanted something that does full backups of apps/games to external storage and then lets me reinstall them so I hoped that this was it.
