Can i flash twrp after root? - General Questions and Answers

I have rooted my s20 fe with magisk and stock firmware , but I don't have any recovery app. I've downloaded twrp app but it's not compatible with this phone. Is there anyway to install twrp after rooting so I can try different rooms and backup before doing so?? I use to use titanium backup but from what I have seen it's useless on newer phones now. I've been trying to figure out how to install twrp or any other back up and flashing utility after rooting for a couple of days now and haven't found anything positive.

Wich specific model? Usually you can , just get the TWRP image corresponding to your device and flash it , BUT I would suggest to look it up as Samsung is a bit finicky with those kind of things
Also make a backcup and get the stock rom just in case .
Good luck!

I have the s20 fe , exynos model .

I have found a way to root this version of the device. Easy as pie.
1. Factory Reset your device.
2. After reboot, Power OFF device.
3. Boot into Download Mode
HOLD VOL ( - ) & POWER & HOME BUTTON
RELEASE HOME BUTTON when letters appear
PRESS VOL (+ ) to ACCEPT TERMS
4. Flash the CF-AUTO-ROOT.tar.md5 using the ODIN that is provided.
5. Reboot and let CF do it's thing (my device restarted maybe 3x)
When phone finally boots, you should be fully ROOTED. I updated SU, and installed a few Apps that require ROOT and everything is smooth. No Force Close, nothing.
Odin + CF-Auto-ROot:

If you need to completely reflash your device the 1GB+ file for ODIN is available.
Google is your friend.
Is there a working Custom Recovery for these? I believe the recovery is the same across all the variants,
here is one from the G360PVPU2AOH1 SM-G360P Model:

Hope this helps someone, I am attempting a TWRP 2.8.0.1 build for this, although I am not sure I know what I am doing.
these helped me a LOT but unfortunately i no longer have the files and my phone is currently a bit bricked du to some unrelated stuff, could you please update these links? email me if you do [email protected]
I used the s820l straight talk twrp 2.8.7....you can search developer Ardwill...my apologies i forgot the ending 2 numbers on his name....but search root deodex rom for your sm-g360p prevaile lte/ core and he has as have i on two prevail ltes booted thru odinbthe straight talk 820 s twrp port..flashes precompiled apos as well as zips to improve performance and even su....the rom has being rooted has a problem updating from settings but with twrp you can systemless root....pm me for both twrp and cfautoroot file...they are linked to my drive actually ....https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9Nvxp8BpgclellYTmtEMnd1ZzQ/view?usp=drive_web...thats twrp found working by Ardwill all credits go to him as i never would of had a custom recovery....and cfautoroot is universal ...dwnld the file named after coreprime....thats the only coreprime that actually flash...possibly since the twrp will not format data.....ive done all i can to give my way of having twrp and root...both phones still work and never looped...twrp only needs root after its flashed...but ask Ardwill or better yet look up his thread on his stock deodexed and prerooted rom...i run it on my cracked one and its just fine ...but i only used twrp then cf autoroot after i flashed recovery via odin and accepted latest update....so props to chainfire for his cfautoroot working across all versions of this non existent variant of the Sm-g360p. Always perform a wipe via twrp before flashing ne thing..dalvick and cache only tho....have fun doing all the exploits that kitkat 4.4.4 has ....latest uodate past smg360pvpaoj2 will not flash xposed nor can you update firnware...so i woudnt run the stock basemodel past apj2 since all you get is a securiry patch update..also i believe twrp will format if you do it properly...i made the mistake not the dev who was ballsy enough to flash a twrp buikt fir a diffrent carrier.

my bootloader isnt unlocked so i dont think i can flash twrp, i just installed the cf autoroot you posted last time and i cant find any other root for this device that actually works so if you could get that file for me that would rock
If ur root already theres no point
....i mean its not logical...what other root are u talking of?? Like a swich from supersu to another superuser.....i just ask
1. So u dont trash ur phones internals
2. What roots better than cf auto?? It comes with superuser.apk
3. One clicks are netorious for unreliability...why there are tools to clean them up anx install chainfires su binary over them...not vice versa for a reason...and Ardwills roms are prerooted with chainfire su...so u might wanna 4get about another root or w.e u were gettin ay

I want to install TWRP then flash Chainfire Super SU. But a lot of people are experiencing bootloops after flashing TWRP so I want a method that won't cause bootloops. I have slow Internet and downloading official ROM to solve a soft brick will be quite a hassle

I try to figured out for any infomration but without success. Is there some news for having root &TWRP for MM 6.0.1 without loosing warranty and tripping Knox?
Thanks to everyone.

Any Custom Recovery for S7 Sm-G930U?

I've been looking around for a custom recovery available for my Galaxy s7 Sm-G930U. But for some reason I cant find any information on it about CWM recovery. I found that TWRP will not work with the snapdragon(sm-G930U) S7 variant . Does anyone by chance know if CWM is compatible with my device? Is there any alternative? I would like to flash magisk since I no longer trust SuperSu

Question Custom rom for A32 5G

any update on any custom roms for Samsung SM-A326B 5g
i cant find any online and its taken my a while to unlock the oem lock, root and install twrp but again im in a boot loop as cant find a custom os to flash.
Any recommendations and links please?
as i dont have a os, and if there are no stable custom roms, is it possible and safe to flash stock BTU-A326BXXS3AUH3-20210830165820.zip from TWRP and if that is would i keep magisk root or need to install stock and then root (magisk apk) again ?
Thanks
Some GSI can work with some bugs.
You can not flash stock firmware through TWRP. You should have Odin on a PC, extract original firmware and follow stock firmware instructions.
Once you flash stock, you have to check whether OEM is unlocked and flash recovery again and obtain root if you prefer.
Flash U1 XAA with Odin mod if you havent, and make your own custom rom by careful debloating. Make incremental TWRP backups every change.
I gained about 500mb more available memory. Totally debranded. Tons of mods and tweaks. Then use kernel manager like Franco to use per app settings so you can change governor per app. Runs Gamecube 3ds and PS2, even booted a Switch game if you like emulators (they are a pretty good benchmark regardless).
Always make backups, especially when you dont want to, and keep a base on your pc, and whatever you do:
DO NO ROOT WITH NEWEST MAGISK. Use 23.x.
*I have a post where I debloated. Look at the last post for a debloat Ive been running for months now.

Help making a Backup before installing magisk+twrp OP8 IN2015 - already unlocked bootloader.

Hello! I've been rooting and installing custom ROMs for years but it's been a long while since I last did it, I got a oneplus 8 global (IN2015) late last year, unlocked the bootloader as soon as I got it out of the box since I knew eventually I would want to flash some stuff. but I have kept it stock this long. Running latest Oxygen 11 android 11
Since I want to start flashing some kernels or roms I wanted to ask about making a backup since I've never had a phone without sd card slot where I would usually store backups.
Can I still use titanium backup to keep all of my apps/data/photos/videos and the state they are in, store it in my pc , then go about flashing a custom Rom and then bring my titanium backup back into the phone and restore everything?
since I'll be installing custom roms based on android 11 I believe it will be fine with no conflicts? or does it matter that my apps were installed in Oxygen OS?
that's what I used to do with older phones anyway. is there a way to flash a rom while having the titanium backup still in storage since most roms require full whipe when clean installing them?
Recently twrp added official support for OP8 and when I open the official app it recognizes my phone as instant noodle but when I click search for phone it says it can't connect to the server? should I flash official twrp from the app or via fastboot? which I'm also quite rusty with.
any tips for a step by step would be appreciated
Hello, I was in the same boat as you since I came to the OP 8 from a Galaxy S4. Titanium backup should work for what you want to do, as long as the custom rom is also based on A11 (disclaimer: I haven't tried it; I'm running rooted stock OOS 11 with a custom kernel). If the rom you want to install requires a data partition format, you can't keep the backups there during the flashing process. If it only needs a data wipe / factory reset, everything in the sdcard directory (also known as /data/media) should be preserved.
I'd say just flash TWRP in fastboot. Flash it to both recovery slots, and read up on how flashing works with A/B slot devices if you aren't familiar, since you'll need to know about it when flashing roms also. It's a big difference from what I was used to with older devices.
Thanks for the reply, yeah I was thinking of just going with a custom kernel since I have so much stuff going on the phone I find it really a chore to backup, but still might want to try it.
What kernel are you using and how are you liking it ?
