White Line on right side of fitbit screen - Charge 3 - Fitbit Watches

Any useful solutions on how to actually fix this, the pathetic advice by fitbit went as far as saying "buy a new one", scummy business that has put me off this company for life, has anyone developed some useful tools or solutions, such as a way to acquire the firmware and force a device reset using powershell or bash? (as far as i can tell, this problem is entirely to do with the device firmware, everyone experiencing this very very common fitbit issue experience it after the device tries to update, I also downloaded the windows app for fitbit, it is the most useless interface I have ever seen.)

[Q] Factory inventory solution using Android Tablets and WiFi?

Hello everyone. My problem goes like this:
I'm a Computer Science graduate and my uncle owns and runs a factory which manufactures components for electronic products. He recently asked me to help him make the inventory management of factory totally paperless. So he went ahead and bought 3 Zinglife tablets(running Froyo, only available in India I guess), one for each of the 3 supervisors on the 3 floors of the factory and got a WiFi router installed there. Now what we want is to have a system where each supervisor can punch numbers relating to his floor's production on his tablet every hour and that data gets transferred to the PC my uncle has in his office. This will enable him to instantly know the figures of production and raw material at any given time instead of manually calculating on paper. I was thinking of installing Apache+MySQL+PHP (AMP) on the PC and developing a small browser-based PHP system so that the supervisors can simply open the browser on their tablets and punch in numbers that then get stored on the PC's MySQL database via WiFi.
Is this the right approach? Can anyone suggest anything better? Perhaps an app or a solution?
We are also open to the possibility of not having real-time synchronization via the AMP solution but having a system where-in the supervisor can punch in the numbers in his tablet and the synchronization happens when the tablet is connected to the PC at the end of the day's production.
Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you

Security to phone, computers, email, entire network is compromised

My question or rather my pleed for answers does not just pertain to android os but I have relied on this site for many answers and have always found a solution just from searching around on here so I know there are very capable members on this site that can help. My problem began over 4 months ago when my home computers were compromised. I assumed it was just a simple virus but soon learned that someone had actually hacked into my home network for what I believe is or was an attempt to retrieve trade secrets. Shortly after i realized that data was being sent to someone through the fax system on my pc and data distribution software had been installed along with a large amount of .dll and legacy items, The admin rights were taken from me and the registry was completely modified which disabled me from having any permissions and kept me from doing anything on the pc. I went out and purchased a new router, got out an older pc, and I put a password of around 20 mixed numbers and letters. 5 minutes after I had set up the new router and pc I noticed through the network map that there was someone else on what I assumed was a secured network. The router was a netgear. First thing I done was change the default password and block any remote access in the network wizard. My next step was to pay the so-called experts (Geek Squad) to solve the security issue. I purchased their 1 month special that entitled me to 1 month of tech support and 3 free pc fixes. after purchasing a windows 7 restore disk I took 3 pc's to a local Geek Squad location to have them restore the Pc's and install what was suppose to be a hack proof software. They only fixed 1 pc, told me the software would keep the hacker out. 5 minutes after i logged into my network here comes all the windows updates (around 50) along with numerous programs. Needless to say I lost my admin rights within an hr. Here we are now, only using cell phones on my network and I am sure the hacker is retrieving my data off of my g vista d6301. My new email that I set up and have only used from the vista has been compromised and although no logins appear in the history but my vista, someone had enabled POP on Dec 28th. I have enabled the developer mode on my phone which allows me to view the process stats. It states that google play service runs 100% and Google Cloud Messaging runs 100%...I have never used any cloud service on this phone. Another thing is that certain system apps that I have never activated are accumulating a decent amount of data. This phone is used only for wifi and has no service plan attached. bluetooth, email, qrtunnel, near field communication all turn on from time to time. Google play also shows something called clearcutlogger running but was unable to find any info on that. I also installed a mic block that has a "spying app catcher" that logs when a app uses your phones mic while the phone is in sleep or idle mode. when the app is on block mic then there are no problems but when I unblock the mic I get countless log entries that an app with net access has gained access to my mic. Its always the same few apps that show up as a potential culprit so I cant pinpoint exactly what app is using the mic. not sure if any of this has anything to do with someone messing around with my phone, just trying to think of some of the things that could help. There is no doubt that this phone along with a pile of now useless computers have indeed been compromised. What I really need help with is how to get this bastard out of my life and secure my network before the new semester begans b/c there is no way I can have my daughter use her new pc on the network knowing its just going to end up like the rest of computers in my new pc graveyard. I know there are quite a few other sites I could have reached out to but there is something about the comradery on this site that has always drawn me to it. 1 more thing fellas, how bout that one touch root for the LG G Vista D6301's? that sure would come in handy right now lol. My apologies for the long read. Any details you need to know to try and help me figure things out, I would gladly assist as long as my knowledge permits.
I understand that the question or article that I posted is quite vast so I will start off with this simple question. Is there a server that I can disable in the LG hidden menu to stop unauthorized use of my GCM, or any other way than simply just disabling Google Play? I have read a couple of recent articles on how hackers are utilizing gcm to gain access to personal info. I just was curious about the server b/c I see many different server acc in the hidden menu such as ATTLABa, Cingular, Mformation, and Funambol. I wasnt sure if these servers or acc could possibly help or be a potential threat.

First thing you have to be sure that no one has physical access to your gadgets. Second, find a router suitable to be modified with new firmware from http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/index or https://openwrt.org/.
In case you can buy a hardware network firewall and with proper installation and settings you should be able to keep away any threat.
A good idea would be to use a good VPN service, that way you can add a layer of security on your networking habits.
Lastly, check this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/security/tuto-how-to-secure-phone-t2960077 and if you have any question, ask there.
Good luck

Nexus 6P blocked ADB

Hello, not sure if this is the right thread to be posting this on but here goes...I am trying to root my phone mainly because I want to open up more resources, get rid of certain programs, try out new rooms and I'm interested in development. But another more pressing reason now is because I believe my phone has been hacked. It, along with the last few phones I've had (I've been changing phones to run from whatever is happening.) changes security settings on it's own, goes through batteries way to quickly and uses data when it shouldn't be. Certain options in settings have been grayed out and others keep getting switched back from where I put them. I absolutely cannot run adb because I cannot get my computer to recognize them. I can't run adb over WiFi either. I've tried different computers, operating systems and everything I know to do. I've spent weeks (literally weeks) trying different suggestions from different websites and tutorials and nothing works. I've used Windows, Linux and OSX. I even payed one click root to do it and they couldn't either. I've been looking at what logs and other info I can get from apps but it's limited info because I don't have root. I have read some manifest docs and even though I'm a noob they just don't sound right and certain apps permissions are way out there. I've checked call logs through two carriers, T-Mobile and now Verizon and both indicate that my phone is sending back to back texts and making phone calls that I didn't make. And I mean a lot of them. I've even made it a point to leave my phone at home all day and not use it and my call logs have still indicated usage. I really need some help...I don't know what to do at this point, I feel defeated, angry and frustrated. I believe that it has something to do with firebase and possibly my ex-wife. About a year ago I found an .apk file in her Google drive called ( truthspy.apk ). I did some research and it wasn't good. This was like 5 phones ago and she hasn't had physical access to my last few phones. I'm not sure what's going on but I know for a fact something is going on and Im respectfully requesting someone's help. Is there something that I can do like invoke a log or bug report or go somewhere and take a screen shot to someone something that they would be able to look at and tell if it wasn't right or that something was going on?
Thanks.

Looking for help with Factory Reset Protection (or USB debugging)

Background: my wife arrived home yesterday with a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2016 model (SM-P585) that had been written off by her company due to lockscreen protection being enabled and no one knowing who the last person was that it was issued to.
I kid you not.
Anyhow, one quick Odin flash later and it's booting up happily. However, FRP was enabled and now requires sign-in from the last person to have signed in on it, which is unknown. So I find myself one last step away from an awesome - and surprisingly well looked after - tablet but with no idea of what to do about FRP.
I've done a fair amount of reading and, outside of all those sites that seem to be run by the same Asian gent who is adamant I can only do it with his absolutely-not-suspicious-at-all application, understand that I can either flash 1) a combination file or 2) an old firmware in which the old workarounds are still effective, both of which will allow me to bypass it, but neither of which will work without USB debugging enabled and that can only be done via the developer options. And obviously I can't get to that.
If anyone has any advice on how I can make this work in my favour without having to get rid of it, I would sincerely appreciate it.
Alternatively, if this is the wrong place to post this question, a quick point and a kick in the ass in the right direction.
[Quick edit] I have no issues with rooting if that's what's required. Again, requires developer tools so...
Hint: Add " SM-P585 " to front of this thread's titel thus mainly people who owns such device get addressed, too.
I thought of that, but I don't believe this is an issue limited to my specific device model. I think it could apply to most, if not all, Android devices at some point.

Help requested to identify hard-reset issue affecting multiple handsets

Hi.
This is my first time back in the forum for many years, but I know if anyone can help me, the folks here can
Background
I work for a small care and support provider and we recently bought 20 ruggedised handsets to run our mobile care app from. The devices are locked down using remote management software from Miradore, with apps being installed remotely via a managed google play account.
The issue
Since introducing the handsets late last year, we have had several that have apparently been 'hard reset'. The software 'factory reset' isn't available, thanks to configuration files installed via Miradore, but the hard reset option using combinations of power+vol keys obviously bypasses this.
My investigations so far
The handsets that have been affected were used by different people in different locations. They are all configured the same and are all off-the-shelf Android 10 smartphones that haven't been rooted, had bootloaders unlocked or modded in any other way. The manufacturers are Wheatek (BV6300) and OUKITEL (WP5).
What I'd like
My first thought is to somehow disable the hard-reset option, but only if another option (ADB or similar?) can perform a hard reset if needed, otherwise I could end up with a lot of expensive bricks. It would also be nice to capture some kind of evidence at the time of the hard reset to get a clearer picture if this is a fault or malicious actions by users.
Your advice and suggestions will be very much appreciated. Thanks.
