The bootloader unlock option is no longer greyed out and I've been able to unlock through fastboot oem unlock......... Am I a massive idiot or has this changed since 10 minutes ago? I am 100% sure it was the EE/Verizon version
EDIT: I'm using EE not Verizon
So the beta program ended for the Pixel and now I'm stuck in it and now I can't unlock the bootloader because the OEM unlock option is greyed out in developer settings. And I don't have the Verizon variant of the Pixel...
Need a new phone and an unlocked bootloader for rooting. Can get one with
G715U1UEU7BUC3
Only to have said it: to root a phone's Android phone's bootloader MUST NOT got unlocked before.
Are there any other requirements other than the phone needs to be SIM unlocked to obtain a bootloader unlock token from Oneplus? I don't mind waiting for 7 days, but just want to make sure if I buy a used one from ebay, its bootloader can be unlocked and phone can be rooted.
that's all i needed to unlock bootloader , unless somebody already unlocked the bootloader with their account and relocked it i dont know how it would work then , i had same concern buying second hand t-mobile op8
New here.
I just switched from a Pixel 5.
Rooting was easy there, but I'm struggling with this phone.
So I bought an Unlock S22 Ultra from Swappa, Snapdragon version SMS908U.
My OEM Unlock option will not show up.
Am I screwed as far as rooting?
Also if not, can I just manually flash stock firmware to get the option back?
There is no OEM unlock option on US S908U/U1, and you cannot unlock the bootloader.
You can unlock the bootloader only on the European Exynos model, so if that's what you need, you should sell this phone and buy the Exynos one.
Gotcha! Thanks for the answer!
