Can't wipe/reset an Android phone (Nokia G10) - General Questions and Answers

Hi! Posting this here as need maximum exposure as the specific thread for the model does not seem to have many people looking at it.
My original post is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/cant-reset-wipe-the-phone.4387423/
Short version: Tried anything I could imagine but can't wipe the phone. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you for reading!

Do you mean you want to wipe all data on your phone and make it like a new one? If yes, try pro android data wipe tool. Such a tool can help us do that easily like Dr.Fone - Data Eraser(Android), SafeWiper for Android, Coolmuster Android Eraser, etc. They are not free to use. About the details, please check online. Hope this will be your help.

A method for wiping all user-data and the associated cache partitions using fastboot while still keeping phone's OS can be accomplished by running the following fastboot commands:
Code:
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata

Thank you! I will try later and post my results.

[Completed] help with installing my first rom just have couple question

hi id like to install the cynagenmod, so im using a samsung galaxy s2 gt i9100p its on android 4.1.2, i also had to use the galaxsim unlock to unlock the phone and wanted to know if this will effect anything and if theres anything i should be aware of before atempting to flash my phone with this rom, i also find it hard to find the easiest beginer friendly guides tbh, when i search there just seems to be so many and all with differnt ways of doing it
so can i just have some advice before starting? thx
these are the things im worried about
WARNING
Some second-generation Samsung Exynos devices are potentially susceptible to a "superbrick" caused by performing a factory reset with the stock kernel, which effectively kills the internal memory in the device. It is highly recommended you do not perform this operation while using a stock kernel for safety reasons. To make sure you aren't running the stock kernel (only needed when coming from the stock ROM), fully install CM without performing a factory reset and reboot to recovery before you perform the factory reset.
WARNING:
If you used a non-official method to remove a provider lock, your /efs partition may become corrupt! It is highly recommended you make a backup of this for safe keeping before attempting to modify your device, especially if you plan to remove such a lock.
is the galaxsim unlock what this is referring to? because i used that to unlock my phone? and the first warning is my phone a samsung Exynos, mines a galaxy s2 i9100p, so this doesnt aply to me does it?

[Completed] Need to confirm a few things about ODIN

I'm some kind of experienced with ODIN, but I'm not sure with some things, I'll be very grateful if you can answer my questions.
Will flashing a stock ROM *touch* the /data partition ? There is nothing related with data in my Rom package, and NAND Erase All is not enabled. I have some important data to be recovered so I can't let it be touched.
Also, what software do you recommend when I am trying to recover deleted data on a Android device? Either an Android app or a PC app is okay.
Thanks a lot.

[Completed] Android: which one is the proper way to erase EVERYTHING?

I would like to know which process would erase everything from an Android phone.
I have read that factory reset will not delete everything.
I want to delete using a low level erase solution, but not sure where to start. I am using a Motorola XT1032.
I mean, My phone is hacked and has some hidden programs used to spy on me.
thank you.

Hello,
You may wipe the system, factory reset, data, cache, dalvik.
This is a general full wipe thing.
You may try to reinstall stock firmware on your device after wiping the above options via custom recovery.

Thank you, I appreciate you took the time to answer.
I am very new to the Android world, so many terms are unfamiliar to me. Do you know an article I can use for those steps?
Thank you again.

[Nexus 6P] Stuck in boot animation after Flash The Factory Images (Return To Stock)

Hello to all the community, I am a little new in these topics but nothing more than guided me by instructions and a little intuition. I have followed this guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/general/guides-how-to-guides-beginners-t3206928
In step 10, I've done everything I asked to format my nexus 6p. What I wanted to do, is that my Nexus 6p install root and TWRP as recovery. The problem is that, when trying to update my system to a new android version (from system configuration and update), the update was downloaded and the phone restarted, but when it restarted it sent me to the TWRP recovery and it did not let me install it, so I decided to find how to delete the TWRP recovery and format the phone to remove the root and I ran into that guide that I put above.
So, I followed all the steps in step 10 except the part where it says "block bootloader", so I have the bootloader still unlocked (thank goodness), install the angler 7.1.2 and restart the device but now I'm stuck in the boot animation (where there are circling circles and random things).
I ask for your help, which is the most expert topic I know about this. This was the topic I found to ask for help, if it is not the right topic I ask you please move it.
Thank you!

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within the following Q&A thread that's specific to your device.

Thanks for your answer. I already solved it, at the end of the guide I did not follow a step and that's why I could not start android. So before finishing everything, install TWRP recovery and opened it to clear cache / dalvink and it worked normally. The strange thing was that I installed version 7.1.2 in image but I get 8.0.0 in android. Well at least it works. Thank you as well!

oneplus 7 pro deeply complete clean and android 10 installation

Hi there,
As you are aware that the Android 10 will be released soon, I have a question regarding how to do the deep clean (not only format in recovery mode) and android 10 installations.
I have searched a lot. So far I think the appropriate way is to install TWRP then erase everything and install the os. But the thing is since the TWRP is the third party stock recovery. My question are
How to install the os if the storage is erased? It seems the driver is uninstalled as well. So does that mean that I need to install the drive firstly?
If it is possible, then how to reset everything? I mean for example uninstall TWRP and re-install the original stock recovery.
update: sorry I may not explain it very well. I am looking for a tutorial to do the following things:
1. install TWRP withOUT boot.
2. after deeply clean, install the android 10 with signed driver(?)
3. uninstall TWRP and everything to make it looks like the box opened refreshed phone.
Thanks in advance.
Why have you started a thread on this? Android 10 is out and installation details, etc are already being well discussed on this forum

Hi thanks for your message. "well discussed on this forum" are you referring to this link? https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/how-to/android-q-4th-developer-preview-t3953997
I have tried to search something like completely deep clean and OTA. But none of them talked about the issue I am asking. Cheers
